00:00How does this straight bar fit through this curved hole?
00:03I recently set out to answer this question after seeing this cool animation,
00:07but was really confused when the model I made kept jamming,
00:10even though my setup looked nearly identical to the video.
00:13So after failing to find an alternative curve piece from among LEGO's arch pieces,
00:18I noticed that if you attach the bar at a distance further from the center pole,
00:22the curve the bar makes changes.
00:24Because the bar is connected at 45 degrees, the end of the bar and where the bar is attached
00:29get closer together as it gets further and further away,
00:32making the shape of the curve in the wall go from rounded to nearly completely straight.
00:37So, by increasing the bar's distance from the pole,
00:40I am able to adjust the path of the bar to make it fit through my original curve,
00:45all without jamming, allowing me to build some truly mesmerizing creations.
