00:00Melania Trump and Chelsea Clinton are coming together. The first lady thanked the former
00:04first child for standing up for her son, Barron Trump. Earlier this week, Clinton came to the
00:09defense of Barron on Twitter after the Daily Caller ridiculed his fashion choices and demanded
00:15the 11-year-old start dressing like he's in the White House. Clinton tweeted,
00:19"...it's high time the media and everyone leave Barron Trump alone. Clinton has a track record
00:24of defending the first kid's right to privacy, despite her political differences with his father,
00:29President Donald Trump. First Lady Melania thanked Clinton for her support on Tuesday evening,
00:33tweeting, "...so important to support all of our children and being themselves.
00:37Hashtag stop childhood bullying." The first lady's words, and specifically her hashtag,
00:42remind us of her anti-bullying platform, which she first addressed as a top priority on the
00:47campaign trail. Melania pledged to work to stomp out cyberbullying as the FLOTUS. And if you think
00:53this is just a PR machine or the president's puppeteering at work, the White House confirmed
00:57to CNN last week that the first lady has complete autonomy when it comes to her social channels.
01:02According to the spokesperson, she does not check in with her husband before posting messages
01:06and does not rely on a team to do her posting for her. For more on this story, check out THR.com's
