00:00The decision for the U.S. to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a foreign terrorist organization appears to be moving closer to implementation.

00:11President Trump stated that his administration is moving forward with this decision that has been on his agenda since his first term.

00:20But what are the procedures required to make this decision? What are the consequences? And what delayed it?

00:26According to analysts, the step came in response to calls from lawmakers and research centers to take stricter measures against the organization.

00:36However, this designation requires three main conditions.

00:40That it be a foreign, non-American organization.

00:44That it engages in terrorist activities or possess the capability and intent to do so.

00:50And that it threatens the safety of American citizens or national security.

00:56This federal designation aims to cut funding and other forms of support to the group.

01:02In addition to closing bank accounts, freezing assets in the United States, preventing entry of its members and deporting them.
