00:00Tom Holland is revealing that he and Zendaya recently read a draft of the Spider-Man 4 script.
00:06Last month, The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported that Dustin Daniel Cretton was in talks
00:11to direct the fourth installment of the superhero franchise, taking over the reins from director
00:15John Watts. During a recent interview on the Rich Roll podcast, Holland spoke about the
00:20development process for Spider-Man 4. Obviously, one of the things to bear in mind with Marvel is
00:25that there is, your film is a small cog in a large machine. He continued, and that machine has got
00:32to keep running, and you need to make sure you can fit into that timeline at the right time to benefit
00:37the bigger picture. You know, that's one of the challenges we're facing, and the time in which we
00:42need to get that done is a tall order, but definitely achievable, with the fantastic people we have
00:48working on it now. The actor then said that he recently read a draft of the script for the next
00:52Spider-Man movie. He went on to share that he and his co-star and girlfriend, Zendaya, actually read it
01:17together. Last year, Holland admitted to Collider that he was open to reprising his superhero role,
01:37but only if the storyline does justice to the character. 2021's Spider-Man No Way Home had the
01:42third biggest opening weekend of all time, behind only Avengers Endgame and Avengers Infinity War.
01:47It went on to gross $1.9 billion worldwide, making it the seventh highest earning movie of all time.
