Israel kills Hezbollah chief of staff in Beirut strike

Israel announced it killed Hezbollah's chief of staff Haytham Tabtabai in a strike on Beirut, marking the first Israeli strike in the city since June.

00:00Israel says that its military killed Hezbollah's top military official, Haytham Dabdabai, in an attack in Beirut.
00:09Local authorities reported that the attack in the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital killed five people and wounded 28 others.
00:18It was the first Israeli strike in Beirut since June.
00:22In a statement, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said Israel would, quote,
00:27continue to act forcefully to prevent any threat to the residents of the north in the state of Israel.
00:35Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned Sunday's attack and accused Israel of refusing to implement its end of the ceasefire agreement.
00:45Dabdabai had led Hezbollah's elite Radwan unit.
00:48He had been the apparent successor to Ibrahim Akil, who was killed in September last year in Israeli attacks that wiped up much of Hezbollah's senior leadership.
