00:00and then you also have sam elliott coming into the mix and michelle you teased a little bit

00:04special moments that you had with sam and the family dynamic can you talk a little bit about

00:09those and did he offer any advice to you guys on set oh first he is the genuinely the sweetest man

00:16um he we're so lucky to be working with him i watched i don't know if you've seen 1883 but

00:22like his he gives one of the most incredible performances um in it and i was a big fan of

00:27that show and so then to work with him feel really lucky um but that it's fun for ainsley to see

00:36to learn more about her dad because he is such a mystery to her in so many ways and so i i think

00:44this season him coming into the family gives her a little more insight to why he is the way that he

00:51is and then did he give any advice to any of you guys um on set in um real life about your careers

00:57or anything or like what was those conversations like when the cameras stopped rolling i think

01:00they're just normal conversations and it's not i think when when you get to work with actors like

01:06that it's not necessarily the advice they give you it's what they show yeah it's it's what they prove

01:10and what they show up and and you get to witness that and go that's that's what i want to do that's

01:15where the teaching comes from yeah and i think it's the best teaching you can get too i mean it's they

01:20they embolden you as an actor like i don't think that any of them believe how incredible they are

01:29like they they're so humble i keep saying they but like billy um demi sam ally like they've been in

01:37this business for so long and they just give you confidence in yourself which is like what you need to

01:45go do a performance when you're working against a legend that you've watched your whole life and

01:49that's why they are so good and the first time we see sam's character interact with with your character

01:54it leads to this really incredible scene between you and billy in the car which was my favorite i

01:58think out of the first two that i've seen what is it like you know for you getting to have that

02:02more of an emotional connection since we don't necessarily see that between cooper and tommy in the

02:07first season well i think it's really important to have it and it's and we've been talking about

02:11their father-son relationship all morning but that's that's one of those moments where you

02:16actually do get to be genuine and and for the most part it's usually business and it's usually hey this

02:21is what you got to do and this is going to suck and you know uh and that's real life i mean me and

02:25my dad had that relationship me and billy both pulled off of our experiences in life for that moment and

02:31it meant a lot to both of us to be able to you know transfer that to screen
