Emma Corrin reveals with THR how Shawn Levy helped sell them on the idea of appearing in 'Deadpool & Wolverine' despite not being able to share major details about the plot. Plus, they discuss channeling their villainous performance in the film.

00:00So you talked about your role being inspired by Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka.

00:05What aspects did you pull from that?

00:09It's sort of how Gene Wilder watches the chaos unfold

00:13and is quite reserved and nonchalant about the whole thing.

00:18But he does come across as this sort of grand puppet master that's pulling all the strings, so I enjoyed that.

00:23Now you said you wanted to train and work out for this and they told you not to.

00:27Well, no. Obviously Marvel don't tell you much when you get the first call.

00:32So I heard they were interested in me playing the villain and I thought,

00:36okay, finally I'll be able to learn some fight combat, I'll be doing some serious stunts.

00:41And then they told me, you know, your powers, you're telepathic.

00:44I was like, are you sick? Really?

00:46Does that mean you want to get into something more physical too for roles down the road?

00:50You know what? I think this film has taught me that actually sometimes having the least tools,

00:55as in it being all internal is kind of the biggest challenge.

00:59And as a villain too, is that something as an actor that you love to do

01:04because you get to be someone that you're obviously not?

01:07Yeah, definitely. I think out of all the characters I've played,

01:10Cassandra's probably the least like myself.

01:12And so it was a real joy to explore that.

01:16And you're talking about getting the call and the script and very vagueness at first.

01:20How difficult is that to be like, what am I getting myself into?

01:23You know what? Very quickly I met with Sean Levy, our director.

01:26And I promise you, Sean is the most exceptional salesperson.

01:30I mean, he could sell me absolutely anything and I'd buy it.

01:33So out of the whole Disney universe too,

01:36who do you like to bring into the Deadpool universe and corrupt?

01:41Ooh.

01:43I mean, probably Charles Xavier, although Cassandra has very selfish reasons for that.

01:46But maybe strange.

01:49See, that's interesting.

01:50Everybody's been going the simple like Donald Duck.

01:53Really? Oh, not MCU people you mean?

01:55Any Disney.

01:56Anyone?
