00:00The way he wrote him talking, he aged him through the way he spoke, so I just had to manifest that
00:05physically. It's time to meet the young royals on season six of The Crown. Prince William,
00:11Harry, and Kate Middleton have entered the world of The Crown as part two of the royal drama drops
00:16on Netflix. The second half of the season will follow the beginnings of a new royal fairy tale
00:21in William and Kate as William begins university at St. Andrews and adjusts to life in the public
00:26eye. Ed McVeigh, Meg Bellamy, and Luther Ford, who play the young adult versions of the royals,
00:31spoke to THR ahead of the premiere to chat all about landing the coveted roles.
00:36How exciting was it when you got that phone call that you were cast for these high-profile roles?
00:41When the casting director called me, I thought he thought I was gonna like freak out on the phone,
00:46but I think because I was quite like, I was just shocked. My like reaction was very kind of like
00:51measured. Yeah. It was so many things, like very surreal, very exciting. I was the opposite. I
00:58did a lot of crying. Yeah. Oh yeah. Big time. The trio also touched on which traits they focused
01:06on with a real-life Harry, Will, and Kate when embodying their characters. What excited me so
01:11much about it is being able to like age the role. And because I start William, he's about 16, 17,
01:18and then he goes to 24, 25. And obviously a lot changes physically and mentally for a guy of that
01:23age. And I really wanted him and like noticed these, like, like he would like stoop in like
01:28these pictures and like this sort of like very insulated person and like just like going through
01:34what he's going through. And Peter wrote that so beautifully. My favorite thing to, to kind of
01:39research and work on was the voice. Um, because I didn't, I guess, expect that it was going to be
01:44that different because we grew up around the same area, but I didn't realize how different your voice
01:49can be based off of tone and kind of where you speak from. I'm a much more, I'm much more kind
01:53of chesty and like, and she's like that. That's a technical touch. Um, and she's much more kind
02:00of light and airy. I was, I met with the Marine. Yeah. Which was very, like I was taught how to march
02:06by a Marine. Um, and I think because the show doesn't touch on anything to do with the army,
02:12but I think the idea was, it's, it's just the kind of physicality of a Royal. And there's a kind
02:20of inbuilt sort of like, yeah, a sense of maybe pride or like having to kind of, you know, puff your
02:26chest out. Season six, part two of the crown is streaming now on Netflix for more entertainment
02:31news and updates. Keep watching the Hollywood reporter news.
