00:00Well, Ronnie Betts, as Louie mentioned before, Ron was quite a character.
00:07I remember one interleague game up in Albury-Lavingdon, I think it was the ground where he was playing,
00:13and Vesky was tying up his boots in the change room,
00:18and there was four or five of these supporters from the Almond St Murray
00:22clambered around in front of him trying to do his boots up,
00:27and he waved to me and he said,
00:28and I said, no, they won't take any notes of the journal.
00:33So I went down the hall and found Colin Rice.
00:36Now, Rice is not short of a word of two, he came up and said,
00:39these blokes piss off, you know, these vests, he's trying to get ready.
00:44Then another occasion, after he'd kicked his 11 goals forward in his final match
00:50for Northern United in the grand final in 1984,
00:52I went into the room and he waved me.
00:55I came across and he said, whatever you do, mention the goals,
01:01but don't tell anyone how old I am.
01:05So, I mean, most of them, they probably was in the guide to start with,
01:10but Vesky was very careful not to let out too many details.
01:13And then another occasion is one of yours.
01:14I remember that you were going to get up with that pal at the university.
