00:00The search for Supergirl is on. We've learned that Millie Alcock, best known for her work on
00:04HBO's Game of Thrones spinoff House of the Dragon as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and
00:09Magdonnelly, who starred in Disney Channel's hit musical franchise Zombies, have both screen
00:14tested for the role in Atlanta. Screen tests took place yesterday with DC studio bosses James Gunn
00:20and Peter Safran present, and the field now narrowed to two. Supergirl is a key part of
00:25the DC plan as they piece together their slate. The character will first appear in James Gunn's
00:30Superman Legacy with David Cornswet as Superman before headlining her own movie Supergirl Woman
00:36of Tomorrow. Gunn detailed Supergirl's story in a video released on social media when the slate was
00:41revealed in January of 2023. For Supergirl in this story, she is a character who was raised on a
00:48chunk of Krypton. She watched everybody around her perish in some terrible way, so she's a much more
00:54jaded character. Other characters who had been in the mix earlier were Kaylee Spaney, the star of
00:59Priscilla, and Amelia Jones, the star of Coda. For more updates on this casting, head to THR.com.
