James Gunn's 'Superman: Legacy' is getting a big change, its title! In a post celebrating the first day of filming, the DC Studios co-chair revealed that his new Superman movie will simply be called 'Superman.' "When I finished the first draft of the script, I called the film Superman: Legacy. By the time I locked the final draft, it was clear the title was SUPERMAN. Making our way to you July 2025." He then shared an image of the Superman logo from the film, which was previously called 'Superman: Legacy.'

00:05In a post celebrating the first day of filming, the DC Studios co-chair revealed that his new
00:09Superman movie will simply be called Superman.
00:12When I finished the first draft of the script, I called the film Superman Legacy.
00:16By the time I locked the final draft, it was clear the title was Superman,
00:20making our way to you July 2025.
00:23He then shared an image of the Superman logo from the film,
00:26with the snow dusting on the logo suggesting a scene set in the Fortress of Solitude,
00:30Superman's Arctic Fortress.
00:32Superman was also the title of the seminal 1978 film starring Christopher Reeve,
00:37although that was widely known as Superman the Movie.
00:40David Cornswet stars as Clark Kent slash Superman,
00:43with Rachel Brosnahan playing Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane.
00:46The cast also includes Nicholas Holt as classic villain Lex Luthor.
00:50Warner Bros. has a July 11, 2025 date for the film,
00:54which marks the first solo Superman project in more than a decade
00:57since Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, which starred Henry Cavill.
