１９６０年代後半、テレビも白黒からカラーへ移行する中、テレビ番組・マグマ大使は、日本で初めて、すべてのエピソードをカラーで放送した記念すべき特撮番組でした。また、子供が笛でヒーローを呼んで助けてもらうエピソードも他のヒーロー番組とは一線を画す内容でした。

In the late 1960s, as television transitioned from black-and-white to color, the TV series Magma Ambassador was a landmark special effects program that became the first in Japan to broadcast every single episode in color. Furthermore, its episodes featuring children summoning heroes with whistles to come to their aid set it apart from other hero shows.
