00:00We're here at the Little Rock Zoo in Arkansas, and we're about to hang out with some of my favorite animals, the cheetahs.
00:09Let's go meet up with their keepers, Kate and Maggie.
00:19Hey guys!
00:20Hey Lauren, we've been expecting you.
00:21I heard we're going to be hanging out with some cheetahs today?
00:24Yeah, we've got a lot planned for you.
00:25I'm going to be doing a training session for medical exams, but first, Kate's going to do some food prep.
00:30That sounds like so much fun.
00:31When can we get started?
00:33Right now, let's go!
00:39So Kate, this is the cheetah kitchen, right?
00:41Yes, this is where we do meat prep for the cheetahs.
00:43This morning we're going to be making their breakfast.
00:45Maggie the cheetah also gets medicine in her diet in the morning because of her seizures.
00:50We're also going to be preparing a food tray for training for Zazie.
00:55Alright, so we're going to get their bowls out.
00:57And we'll get their breakfast ready.
01:02Zazie gets senior feline diet and Maggie gets regular feline diet.
01:06So this is Zazie's meat right here?
01:08This is Zazie's meat.
01:11Put it in the bowls.
01:12And this is Maggie's.
01:15We weigh it out the night before so we're ready to go in the morning.
01:18Well, because Maggie has seizures, she gets medicated twice a day.
01:22So we're going to get her medicine ready.
01:24We just take a pill out and hide it in a meatball and put it right on top of her diet.
01:29So she never even knows it's there.
01:31She never knows it's there.
01:34So this is the meat we're going to use for Zazie's training session today.
01:37And we actually have Maggie right over there waiting for us.
01:39So why don't we go get started with her?
01:40Sounds great.
01:52So we're here in the cheetah area.
02:03What are we going to do today?
02:04Actually, we're going to be doing some cheetah training.
02:07So we're going to be pulling Zazie into the squeeze.
02:12This is where we would weigh her.
02:13And we'll also practice in her blood draw training.
02:15So we'll be pulling her tail out.
02:17And then we will also be doing hand and check training.
02:22Maggie is our five-year-old cheetah.
02:24And shortly after she came to us, she started having seizure episodes.
02:28It started with some abdomen compressions.
02:31It kind of looked like a cough.
02:33And then eventually, she went on to have full-blown seizures.
02:36So her head would start shaking.
02:38And then it would happen for a few seconds.
02:39And all of a sudden, she would come out of it.
02:41Maggie has seizures that seem to be very focal to the front half of her body.
02:45We went through and did blood work.
02:47We did x-rays.
02:48We did CT scanning to try to diagnose the origin of her seizures.
02:52And we really didn't find anything specific for her.
02:55So right now, she's on a medication to help control her seizures.
02:58And it's working.
02:59The keepers have done a fantastic job training Maggie for her behaviors,
03:03to get her to take her medications, to accept injections, to accept daily weights,
03:09everything that we might need to be able to manage her the best we can.
03:12We're going to get her pregnant and baby casual animation.
03:15So let's get started.
03:16We'll be right back to all our other settings.
03:17We'll be right back to theесс for the second time.
03:18We'll see you next time.
03:19So let's get started.
03:19And you'll be right back.
03:20So let's get started.
03:22So let's get started.
03:23The first thing we can do is to enjoy today's take-in.
03:23If you can do this, we will be the best now.
03:25So let's get started.
03:25We'll be right back to the next day.
03:26Here we can do it again!
03:26So let's get started.
03:28And I'll be right back to the next day.
03:32Here we go when the first time we go.
03:33You can do it.
03:34And I'll be right back to go.
