Everton boss David Moyes on whether he is a different manager now to when he was at Manchester United 12 years ago after taking over from Sir Alex Ferguson Finch Farm, Liverpool, UK
00:00How different of a manager, or are you different, from the manager that left here to become Manchester United manager?
00:07I hope I'm a bit wiser possibly, and I think age sometimes does that.
00:14Yeah, but I think when I was leaving at that time at Everton, I'd done 11 years here, and maybe it seems a long time in management.
00:25But, you know, you look back in hindsight, maybe we could have done things differently, we'd have been different.
00:30We had developed a great team over that period because we'd been given time to build it.
00:36I think the one thing about any manager, I think, given an opportunity to sort of build things.
00:41I used to always look at the real managers, probably from eras before me, who I looked up to, you know, even Sir Bobby Robson, Brian Clough, Don Reary.
00:51All those ones who'd been given long periods at their clubs, and if you look at the success, it tended to work better that way.
00:59We're suddenly looking through eras now where managers lose their jobs quite regularly.
01:04But I was really fortunate here at Everton, we were able to build, and have such a good side over 11 years, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
01:11So how have I changed? Probably mellowed a little bit with age, but still out there fighting, trying to win every game, and preparing as well as I've ever done.
