China has reportedly urged lawmakers from Panama to cancel a planned trip to Taiwan. Panama's foreign ministry has appeared to hit back, saying it will not accept any conditions or pressures aimed at influencing its authorities' decisions.

00:28Panama doesn't have formal diplomatic relations with Taiwan, instead recognizing China's

00:35Beijing opposes its allies having any official interactions with Taipei, which it claims as
00:39its territory.
00:41But there's been backlash against China's interference.
00:44Panama's foreign ministry says it will not accept any conditions or pressure aimed at influencing
00:49its authorities' decisions.
00:51And the U.S. ambassador to Panama says Beijing shouldn't be involved.
