00:36During her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kate Winslet ended up divulging the hilarious story

00:41about the questionable look she wore to meet King Charles III decades ago, back when he was Prince

00:47Charles. The memorable meeting took place at the 1996 premiere of her film, Sense and Sensibility.

00:53For the occasion, she wore a totally sheer black lace jumpsuit with flat black sandals and a black

00:58coat. The actress has since had many more opportunities to choose outfits better suited

01:03to meet the royals. This summer, she became one of the ambassadors for the King's Foundation,

01:08which supports small charities and crafts that have been outdated. For last night's show,

01:13Winslet chose a more tailored black and white pinstripe suit with stiletto heels,

01:18though she nearly had a wardrobe malfunction. She confessed that she tripped walking out of her

01:22dressing room on her way to the stage. Winslet is on a press tour for the movie

01:27Goodbye June, which is written by her son, Joe Anders. Now nearly 22, Anders wrote the film when

01:33he was 19, pulling from his own family dynamics when his family came together upon the death of

01:39his grandmother, Winslet's mother. Winslet is the film's director, a producer, and also has an acting

01:44role in the movie. It is the first feature film directed by the 56-year-old, making it a milestone

01:50moment for both Winslet and her son. Winslet's daughter, Mia Threppleton, has been acting since

01:55she was 13. She stars on the Apple TV series The Buccaneers and stars in the film The Phoenician

02:01Scheme, that recently debuted at the Cannes Film Festival.
