00:00Yeah, Kelly Sloan's a really lovely person and I wish her the very best for the job.
00:06Obviously I'm in competition with her, but it's a real honour to lead a political party,
00:10so hats off to her, it's an achievement for her.
00:13I want to also pay tribute to Mark Speakman, one of the gentlemen of politics in Australia,
00:20someone that I genuinely believe believes in public service,
00:24so I thought he handled himself with so much class in the last 24 hours
00:29and although it's disappointing for him, I think in many respects he's enhanced his,
00:34the public's view of Mark would have been enhanced, not detracted over the last 24 hours,
00:39so I just wish him the best in the future, he's a very decent person.
00:42I have read a lot of commentary in the last week about Labor landing bombs on the Liberals
00:48and the Liberal Party landing bombs on Labor.
00:50I think the truth of the matter is we've both got a responsibility to work together if we can.
00:56There's got to be some common ground between the political parties.
00:59There's plenty of time for us to trade political barbs in the future,
01:03but if there's things that we can work on today to better New South Wales,
01:07that's got to be our focus.
01:08It doesn't have to be relentlessly negative.
01:10Politics doesn't have to be about fighting each other.
01:13If there are things that the two of us can work on to make New South Wales better,
01:17I am up for it and I hope Kelly is too.
