00:00Before we get started, could you use one word to describe the panel at Comic-Con this week?
00:07Well, we're doing two this week. We're doing a Deadpool panel on Thursday, and we're doing our Marvel Studios panel on Saturday.
00:13And the one word that I have leading up to it, and I hope the audience has while they're witnessing it, is excitement.
00:19How are you able to navigate bringing this into the Disney universe?
00:23You know, once Disney acquired the rights and said that they were going to let us do it R-rated and honor what Ryan had done before,
00:31and Ryan Reynolds came on board like a force of nature and really helped drive this movie together
00:36and bring the team of Sean Levy and Hugh Jackman together to make what people, I hope, are going to love as soon as they see it.
00:42Do you think Hugh has that Michael Jordan in him after putting back on the clause that he'll do it again?
00:51You know, this is the first step in that. I'm not a sports guy, but I do know who Michael Jordan is.
00:57And I think when people see this movie, it won't feel like somebody returning from retirement.
01:02It will feel like somebody at the top of their game.
01:05Talk about Rhett and Paul, too. I mean, very close to Ryan.
01:08And what was it like for working with them on set as well?
01:12Well, it was great. And Rhett and Paul and Zeb Wells, our writer, along with Sean and Ryan, his co-writers,
01:17there are a lot of names on that screenplay, what people will see on the screen,
01:21but they all had an amazing part in working together to craft this movie.
01:26It was a benefit. It was a creative collaboration that resulted in the movie we're going to see.
01:32Day one of the film, was everybody asking the same question,
01:36where's the line that we can go to versus and how far can we go over that line?
01:41You know, because Disney had been very clear saying they were R-rated before, let this one be R-rated,
01:46it, Ryan is the best arbiter of that. Ryan knows where the line is,
01:50and he goes right up to it and pulls himself back. But the line's far out there.
01:55Do you think this movie opens the doors for more R-rated films in the MCU?
02:00I think it's for, I think it is when appropriate. Sure. I think it's when appropriate.
02:04It was entirely appropriate for Deadpool. It would have been inappropriate for it to not be R.
02:09And if we encounter a character like that, there are a few I can think of where that's in the DNA of the character,
02:14then we'll do that. Will you be enjoying some popcorn out of Hugh's head tonight?
02:19That's, uh, that is a horrific image that I now have.
02:24That's Ryan for you. Yes, exactly.
