A live-action, R-rated 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' movie is in the works following the success of the animated film 'Mutant Mayhem.' The Hollywood Reporter can exclusively reveal that Paramount Pictures is developing 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin,' adapting a popular storyline seen in the recent IDW comics.

00:09that Paramount Pictures is developing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Last Ronin,
00:13adapting a popular storyline in the recent IDW comics. Tyler Burton Smith is writing the script,
00:19the scribe wrote 2019's Child's Play, and co-wrote the upcoming R-rated action movie
00:24Boy Kills World. Walter Amata is producing through his 18Hz production company as part
00:29of his multi-year deal with the studio. Amata is the former head of DC Films who rose through the
00:33ranks at New Line, where he oversaw the Warner Bros. Division's horror movies, including The
00:37Conjuring and It franchises. His 18Hz banner is focused on making features in the horror genre.
00:43The comic miniseries Last Ronin is about as terrifying as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
00:48tale can get. The story, set in a totalitarian future New York City, tells of how the Turtles
00:53and Master Splinter are killed off one by one by the grandson of the villainous Shredder and
00:58synthetic ninjas. One turtle manages to survive barely and vows to exact bloody revenge.
