00:00King Charles moved to tears by public support amid cancer battle.
00:05One of the most shocking influential figure health updates of the year was certainly King
00:10Charles III's cancer diagnosis, which has had many royal family enthusiasts worried
00:15about him over the last year.
00:18However, in Robert Johnson's new book, The Windsor Legacy, the author revealed that the
00:23king reportedly was reduced to tears upon seeing and hearing the public's reaction
00:28to his illness.
00:30Not only did the king himself reveal he had been diagnosed with cancer last February,
00:35but about a month later, after weeks of speculation and concern, his daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton,
00:42revealed she was being treated for a form of cancer as well.
00:46The royal family has clearly been through a lot over the last few years, including some
00:51health issues, which have rattled the lives of the House of Windsor.
00:55He's been reduced to tears, not by his plight, but by the thousands of warm letters he has
01:01received, wrote Jobson as reported by the Daily Mail.
01:05Some were cards, clearly made by children and covered in glitter or accompanying a get-well
01:11gift of Smarties.
01:12It's no secret that the dad of two has been one of the more controversial members of the
01:18royal family, which largely stems from his relationships with his late wife, Princess Diana, and his current
01:25wife, Queen Camilla, formerly Camilla Parker Bowles.
01:29Charles was simply overwhelmed to learn that so many cared and wished him well, wrote the author,
01:35author, despite the backlash from those who adored his late wife, Diana.
01:40He's changed some of the habits that once seemed set in stone, wrote the author, who added that
01:45that he was slowing down and listening to his medical team.
