00:00All right, let's do this.
00:03Look at that!
00:05All right, over first!
00:07Over first!
00:09Woo!
00:11Oh my God!
00:13Oh my God!
00:15Look at this!
00:17Look at the Earth!
00:19Look at the Earth!
00:21Oh man!
00:23Oh my God!
00:25This is like...
00:27This is like insane!
00:29Okay, I got a few things to do.
00:33All right!
00:35First for you!
00:37Cam appears!
00:39Dude, look at the Earth!
00:41Just look outside!
00:43Oh my God!
00:45Where's face?
00:47Man is happy, buddy!
00:49India with pride!
00:51India to space!
00:53India to space!
00:55Woohoo!
00:57Hey there!
00:59Eight...
01:01Seven...
01:02Six...
01:03Five...
01:04Four...
01:05Command engine start...
01:06Two...
01:07One...
01:08Zero...
01:09Ignition...
01:10Start...
01:11New...
01:12New Shepard has cleared the tower!
01:13Woo!
01:14The rocket and our astronauts are heading up to space!
01:19New Shepard has cleared the tower, and the rocket and our astronauts are heading up to
01:31space.
01:32Now you can follow along on the bottom left of your screen, the altimeter on the left,
01:39excuse me, the altimeter on the right, and the speedometer on the left.
01:47All right, as we go through this flight, there are a couple of milestones here.
02:08The first one will be max Q. That's when the dynamic pressures are the highest on the vehicle.
02:16We go from 100% power, pull it back a little bit as we go through max Q, and then ramp
02:21her back up to 100%.
02:23Max G should be in about 10 seconds.
02:28Max Q has been confirmed.
02:29Again, thank you, everybody, for joining us for New Shepard's 25th minute
02:35mission to space.
02:36So far in nominal flight, we have gone through max Q.
02:41100,000 feet.
02:42And the vehicle will continue to climb under full power of the
02:47BE-3 engine.
02:54The next milestone will be main engine cutoff.
02:55You will know when that happens, when you see the glow of the engine at the base of the
02:59rocket go dim.
03:06There we go.
03:07The engine is off.
03:08The engine is off.
03:09The engine is off.
03:10The engine is off.
03:11And the vehicle will continue to climb under full power of the BE-3 engine.
03:15Next milestone will be main engine cutoff.
03:18You will know when that happens, when you see the glow of the engine at the base of the
03:24rocket go dim.
03:30There we go, main engine cut off, confirmed.
03:42Now with the main engine cut off, with the BE3 engine turned off, the vehicle continues
03:54to climb up towards its apogee, but as you will see on the left side, the speedometer
03:59will come down, and once that speedometer hits zero, that's when you know exactly that
04:04the vehicle has hit apogee, its highest altitude in the flight of the vehicle.
04:14Now I understand that separation of the capsule from the booster has been confirmed.
04:19All right, let's do this.
04:26All right, over first, over first!
04:30Oh my God!
04:32Oh my God!
04:34Look at the Earth!
04:37Look at the Earth!
04:39Oh man!
04:41Oh my God!
04:44This is like insane!
04:48Okay, I got a few things to do.
04:51All right!
04:52Woo-hoo-hoo!
04:53First for you!
04:54Cam appears!
04:55Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo!
04:57Dude, look at the Earth!
05:00Just look outside!
05:01Thank God!
05:02This is weird space!
05:03Dude!
05:04Weird space!
05:05Man is happy, buddy!
05:07India with pride!
05:09India to space!
05:11India to space!
05:12Woo-hoo!
05:13Hey there!
05:15Hey there!
05:16Hey there!
05:18All right, you see the, excuse me, the booster that is headed down.
05:32You see the drag fins, the drag brakes that have just deployed.
05:37Those cut the speed of the booster in half.
05:40Also at the top of the rocket there, you see the forward fins.
05:45They kind of look like pie slices.
05:47One on each quadrant.
05:49That helps keep the vehicle stable.
05:51And there we go!
05:52BE-3 engine relight.
05:55lot of Grac steaks!
05:56Awesome!
05:57Creating pasado for God!
05:58Fantastic!
05:59Landing gear deployed.
06:0150 feet, a beat be plugged.
06:03Perfect!
06:06Flash down!
06:08And touchdown!
06:09And touchdown!
06:10Welcome home, new shepherd.
06:12And touchdown.
06:16Welcome home, New Shepard.
06:20What a beautiful flight to space and back for that booster.
06:26But the show is not over.
06:29The crew capsule has deployed its guide parachutes and its mains.
06:37Everything looking nominal on today's flight.
06:42It looks like we do have two parachutes that have full inflation.
06:49The third is not quite fully inflated.
06:53But actually, Jackie, this is part of the design.
06:59In fact, we were talking about my webcast.
07:02The first webcast that we did, we actually tested a shootout.
07:06There are multiple redundancy factors in this in this system.
07:13And so landing with two parachutes is perfectly OK for this system.
07:18You'll also see the dust take out of the base of the of the capsule as she comes in to land.
07:24And that is the air cushioning system is going to kick up a lot of that West Texas dust you just talked about.
07:30But also there it is.
07:32Touchdown of the crew capsule.
07:34A beautiful flight for our rocket, for our crew capsule, for our six new astronauts.
07:44Mason, Sylvain, Ken, Carol, Gopi and Ed, you are officially astronauts.
07:52Welcome home, everybody.
