00:03The superstar singer and actor is one of the most beloved celebrities in the world.

00:08It's not just Parton's amazing musical talent or her self-effacing humor.

00:12The singer-songwriter was hailed by BBC as, quote,

00:14"...the woman who inspires as much affection as any celebrity on earth."

00:18Parton donated $1 million to develop the Moderna vaccine, but she is not comfortable being

00:23overly praised for her donation.

00:25As it turns out, Parton doesn't want to be worshiped.

00:28After being named Person of the Year in 2021 by People magazine, the superstar explained

00:33why, saying,

00:34"...because there's a scripture in my Bible that talks about idol worship.

00:38And I see that happening all the time with movie stars and these celebrities.

00:41People literally worship them more than they worship God.

00:44And I just...I cringe at it sometimes."

00:47But her donation isn't the only reason she's been in the news in recent months.

00:51Some fans had a surprising reaction to Parton's T-Mobile commercial during the 2022 Super Bowl.

00:56A lot of fans loved the spot, with one Twitter user posting,

00:59"...T-Mobile might get my business after that ad.

01:02I love Dolly Parton."

01:03Another fan tweeted,

01:04"...switching to T-Mobile immediately after that Dolly Parton commercial."

01:08Overall, the feedback for the commercial was pretty good because of, well, Dolly Parton.

01:13But because Twitter is Twitter, there were also a few haters who didn't take it easy on

01:18the country singer, and it may come as a surprise, as Parton's work is usually universally beloved.

01:23One Super Bowl commercial critic tweeted,

01:25"...Wow.

01:26T-Mobile really missed the mark with their Dolly Parton commercial."

01:29Another Twitter user was harsher, claiming,

01:31"...that Dolly Parton commercial was absolute garbage."

01:34There were also negative comments about the T-Mobile commercial joking about the singer's

01:38chest, but one fan defended Parton and the telecompany by tweeting,

01:42"...except Dolly is in on the joke and often initiates it because she has a sense of humor."

01:47One of the best comments about the T-Mobile Super Bowl ad summed up the love for Parton

01:53No matter how we feel about the T-Mobile commercial, what we're not going to do is

01:59Though some fans didn't like T-Mobile poking gentle fun at her famously large chest, for Dolly

02:06When it comes to critiques of her body, specifically her breasts, Parton's heard it all.

02:10As recently as January 2022, Parton addressed speculation that her chest was insured for

02:15millions of dollars.

02:17Parton said during an appearance on the Today Show,

02:19"...well, it's not true about that.

02:20Years ago, was it Betty Grable or one of the great, famous stars that was famous also for

02:25her legs?

02:26And at that time I said,

02:27"...well, maybe I should get my boobs insured since I'm famous for them."

02:30"...but it was just a joke.

02:32I didn't do that."

02:33As for the T-Mobile ad, Parton got a kick out of the cheeky concept.

02:37During an interview with Variety, the singer dished about the behind-the-scenes

02:40experience.

02:41She told the outlet,

02:42"...I always carry my phone in my bosoms.

02:44My boobs are ringing when the phone rings."

02:46The concept was great, but the real treat was getting the chance to work with her goddaughter,

02:50Miley Cyrus.

02:52When T-Mobile pitched an ad that involved Cyrus, Dolly Parton simply couldn't say no.

02:56After all, she's known Cyrus since she was just a baby.

02:59Cyrus' father, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, brought the pair together all those years ago.

03:04Back in the early days of his career, he opened for Parton and they became fast friends.

03:09Billy Ray asked Parton to be Miley's godmother, but given her hectic touring schedule, Parton

03:13was apprehensive about accepting.

03:15She adored the baby so much, however, that she eventually agreed to be her fairy godmother,

03:20according to Variety.

03:21Parton told Marie Claire,

03:22"...I've always loved her since she was little, and I knew she was special.

03:26She just had a light about her.

03:28Her sparkle and her smile and her eyes were always full of wonder."

03:32Over the years, Miley and Parton have teamed up a few times.

03:35Younger millennials might remember Parton's role as Miley's Aunt Dolly on Hannah Montana.

03:39Though they've worked together in the past, and Parton is a very special part of Cyrus'

03:43life, the country star is careful not to overstep her bounds when it comes to giving her goddaughter

03:48advice.

03:49Parton told Variety,

03:50"...I don't give advice, but I give a lot of information.

03:52That's kind of how we do.

03:53I try not to throw in my big advice at someone.

03:56I just tell them what I've been through and things that could happen."
