00:05forget to appreciate the hard-working people behind the scenes.

00:09Of course, fame could easily go to anyone's head, but these horrific stories prove that

00:14some television hosts really cross the line.

00:18Dr. Phil

00:19Dr. Philip McGraw has long been rumored to be a fraud and a tyrant.

00:24His staff has gone on record to say that he not only terrorizes them, but the guests as

00:28well.

00:29A source told Perez Hilton,

00:31"...you can feel the fear on the set.

00:33There seems to be a reason he hires a nearly all-female staff.

00:37He seeks out the vulnerable type of person that's reliant on their paycheck from him so

00:42they don't fight back."

00:43But former segment director Leah Rothman recently filed a lawsuit against Dr. Phil and CBS claiming

00:50false imprisonment, whistleblower retaliation, wrongful termination, and intentional infliction

00:56of emotional distress.

00:57According to the Daily Beast, Rothman was called into work on her day off and escorted into

01:02a small room with 300 other employees and security.

01:06They were then all locked inside while Dr. Phil threatened the crew into giving up the

01:11rat who allegedly leaked information about an exclusive interview with Bobby Christina Brown's

01:16boyfriend, Nick Gordon.

01:17This wasn't the first lawsuit Dr. Phil had been confronted with, and it sounds like it

01:23won't be the last.

01:24Tyra Banks

01:25We've all seen Tyra Banks act like a bit of a diva, but it seems the talk show host is

01:31much worse off camera.

01:33After the Tyra Banks show wrapped for good, past crew members on the show started speaking

01:38out.

01:38A source revealed to the New York Daily Mail,

01:41"...there had been a high turnover of employees for years.

01:45She and the higher-ups on the production staff could be extremely brutal."

01:48Reports surfaced while the Tyra Banks show was still airing that Banks held a holiday

01:53party for her employees at a dive bar in New York City without any food.

01:58Fights broke out, people got sick on the dance floor, and one woman was even sent to the hospital.

02:03A source revealed Banks showed up to the party late and told staffers, who relocated from

02:09L.A. to New York for her,

02:10"...I want to thank you guys for working so hard.

02:13I have a special guest.

02:14Here's Santa."

02:16The source then explained the staff rushed over to a man dressed as Santa expecting to

02:20receive a holiday bonus.

02:22They were instead gifted burgers from McDonald's.

02:26Chelsea Handler

02:27Best known for Chelsea Lately, Chelsea Handler can now be found all over Netflix.

02:32But she didn't inform her co-star she'd be leaving her late show, and comedian regular

02:37Heather McDonald is no longer keeping quiet about it.

02:41During an interview on Theo Vaughn and Matthew Cole Weiss' podcast, allegedly, McDonald spoke

02:46about her time on the show, saying,

02:48"...I lived in fear, 100 percent lived in fear.

02:51I enjoyed my time there, I was happy, but something could happen and my heart would be beating,

02:56and I'd be like, is this it?"

02:58McDonald described how Handler treats the relationships in her life, saying,

03:02"...she makes you feel so special until you're not."

03:05Lisa Sunstead, a former writer for Chelsea Lately, backed up McDonald's statements in an exclusive

03:11with Radar Online.

03:12Sunstead called Handler her best friend when she first started working for the show.

03:16But when Sunstead left, things changed.

03:19She said,

03:20"...I left the show to go do another job and Chelsea got very busy and she got famous.

03:25Her show blew up and she just didn't respond to any of my emails anymore."

03:30Wendy Williams

03:31The Wendy Williams Show is known for odd rules behind the scenes, as reported by the New York

03:37Daily News.

03:38For example, no one on her staff can be taller than Williams.

03:42Earlier, yes, taller than Williams six feet, no.

03:46This rule also pertains to guests on the show.

03:49An insider explained,

03:50"...one woman who was on once was never invited back, because the woman was actually taller

03:55than Wendy.

03:56Wendy needs to be the tallest lady on set at all times."

04:00The insider also revealed Williams' crew is nearly entirely made up of men, as the host

04:05can get, quote, "...weird around other ladies."

04:09Williams also seems to have a bit of a jealousy streak.

04:11The moment she finds out an expert has done an appearance elsewhere, these guests are

04:15never invited back.

04:17One of these experts told the New York Daily News about her experience, saying,

04:21"...I had been a regular guest on Wendy for over a year, but when I started doing other

04:25shows they stopped inviting me back.

04:27It is not like Wendy pays me or has some sort of exclusive contract with me, and she isn't

04:33GMA or Today.

04:34Now she is left with all the not-tall experts that the big shows don't want.

04:40Paula Deen

04:40Many were shocked when Paula Deen was accused of using racial slurs on set of her show, Paula's

04:46Home Cooking, but it soon became public that TV host had a long history with racism.

04:52Aside from playing host on TV, Deen also owned a restaurant in Savannah, and the reports coming

04:57from some of her staff members are beyond shocking.

05:00A former general manager of the restaurant filed an official lawsuit in 2012 with claims

05:06that African American employees were only allowed to use the back entrance to the restaurant,

05:11and were required to use the bathroom in the back as well, separate from white employees

05:15and customers.

05:16Additionally, African American employees weren't allowed to go to the front of the restaurant

05:21for any reason, and were paid less than white employees.

05:24Since Deen has admitted to using the racial slur, many of her employees have come forward

05:29with their own experiences with the host, and they are all far from pleasant.
