00:42Beijing claims Taiwan as its own and considers such activities illegal.
00:47It's part of mounting efforts by China to intimidate Taiwanese citizens.
00:50Earlier this month, it issued bounties for two Taiwanese influencers
00:54and opened an investigation into a Taiwanese lawmaker for, quote, separatism.
00:58Taiwan's foreign ministry also responded to China's most recent statement,
01:02saying Beijing has no jurisdiction over the people of Taiwan.
