00:06Um, this is not about the broken headlight here, which will hopefully be replaced by BMW soon.

00:14That is a problem for everyone who drives a BMW G305.

00:22then you don't need to try to replace the LED dark driving light module,

00:26which is definitely available separately.

00:27Um, that is not the cause.

00:31Um, it is really the headlight that is broken,

00:34and the old module that was installed on the mountain simply burned the light guide,

00:38sunk it, for whatever reason, no idea.

00:42Um, and yes, by the way, but if that is the case for you,

00:46then you need the complete headlight including the new module.

00:51But I am talking about these blue parts in the back.

00:54I can't even say what they are called.

00:57Uh, I've read about decorative grille struts on Amazon and the like.

01:05Actually, they don't really have anything to do with the decorative kit,

01:08but yes, they've definitely been really popular with BMW drivers for a long time

01:14And today I'll just briefly tell you something about the installation.

01:22Uh, one thing right away, you often don't think about it.

01:27Uh, especially the newer models,

01:29they all have these vent flaps that open and close as needed.

01:32And of course they're a problem because you can remove the kidneys,

01:37that's no problem,

01:38but behind them is the mechanism with these flaps.

01:42Uh, they can't be removed that easily,

01:44because the entire skirt has to come off for that

01:47and that's quite time consuming.

01:48However, there is another option,

01:53which is a bit tricky though.

01:56Uh, that's why I'm not going to show you exactly how it works in the tutorial as usual,

02:00but instead I'll just tell you how I did it.

02:05Uh, and I'm not going to be afraid,

02:07I'm not going to use brute force,

02:09but I'm just going to use a little bit of dexterity.

02:11So definitely leave the engine running,

02:15because then the air flaps will stay open.

02:19Otherwise, if they're open now,

02:20when you turn off the ignition,

02:22they'll close immediately or after a few minutes or whatever.

02:25In any case,

02:26they have to stay open during the entire process.

02:28Yes, and then it's actually quite simple.

03:38And then it hangs and can't really slide down anymore.

03:48I used a hammer handle,

03:49wrap the cloth around it to prevent scratches,

03:51and then you simply tighten it one by one depending on the position,

04:02if it falls in the back,

04:04you have to take the rod off,

04:05or at least the underbody paneling off,

04:07to get the part out again.

04:09And I could possibly imagine that it's also possible to get to the radiator,

04:19I'm not entirely sure.

04:21it works through the kidneys too.

04:23But of course the kidneys have to come out.
