00:00:30Hey there friends, you saw the intro, so let's go.
00:00:45We are heading up this path from this tunnel and we are already greeted with this beautiful
00:00:52North American environment.
00:00:55And as you see those drone cams up there, which is great for taking pictures.
00:01:01And the first thing you see when you arrive here at the True North Sanctuary is this beautifully
00:01:08designed entrance building.
00:01:10And yeah, it's just one of the standouts of this zoo is definitely its architecture, the
00:01:17style of the buildings here.
00:01:18And a lot of educational stuff is present here as well.
00:01:22And I think this is really a standout start of the zoo really.
00:01:27That wall with all the four rocks in there making it look so nice.
00:01:31The beautiful sign with the oval shape here.
00:01:34And yeah, it's off to a great start.
00:01:37A wonderfully designed entrance here.
00:01:40And we move forward into this atmospheric entranceway with a lovely glass wall here.
00:01:49We can look at this guys.
00:01:51We can go get some information.
00:01:54Get some information here.
00:01:57Perhaps buy some tickets, get some maps here.
00:02:01Look at the prices.
00:02:02It's pretty, pretty good prices actually.
00:02:06Pretty decent.
00:02:08And wonderful artwork everywhere from our artists in residence.
00:02:12As you can see, they have drawn these pictures of many of the residents here.
00:02:19And this is the sort of the intended exit.
00:02:22Now available on the Steam Workshop as you see.
00:02:25And then look at this cool little artwork here at the top.
00:02:28Such a real feeling building for sure.
00:02:33And now we're heading down these stairs.
00:02:37We have a footpath.
00:02:39And we have actually an accessible ramp for anyone that needs it.
00:02:45And then a wonderful waterfall back here.
00:02:48Amazing stuff.
00:02:50Amazing stuff.
00:02:51There's a restroom back here.
00:02:53And we are greeted by this.
00:02:55There's a whole bunch of backstage stuff that I'm going to show you at the end.
00:02:59We are doing the visitor experience at the moment.
00:03:02So we head through this great roof entrance here.
00:03:09And we are greeted with this sight.
00:03:12The amazing mountains here in the back.
00:03:14And the first animal is a charismatic opener to any zoo really.
00:03:19It is the small and charming prairie dock.
00:03:22As you can see, this whole zoo has custom signs everywhere.
00:03:27I downloaded a lot of billboards to make this work.
00:03:30So if you want to...
00:03:31I'll take a look at all of them if I can.
00:03:33If you want to pause and read them.
00:03:35Because a lot of work went into this.
00:03:37Absolutely.
00:03:37And this is the prairie dock habitat.
00:03:40You get a wonderful shelter here.
00:03:42With a path entry for the staff.
00:03:47And a prairie dock access.
00:03:51And they're all down there.
00:03:52As you can see, there's a little baby.
00:03:55There's some adults.
00:03:56They have a whole bunch of food.
00:03:58And yeah, a great opener.
00:04:03A classic opener, really.
00:04:04Prairie dogs, meerkats.
00:04:07I like the way that the rocks morph with the mountain behind it.
00:04:13Creating sort of the illusion that the mountains are the backdrop of the habitat.
00:04:19I don't know if that was intentional.
00:04:21But it very much works like this for me right now.
00:04:24That it looks like the backdrop of this habitat is the mountains.
00:04:29And even the rocks themselves are shaped like mountains.
00:04:32So that feels like a nice touch.
00:04:34If it was intentional or not.
00:04:36But I guys, honestly, feature eyes.
00:04:39The rock work here to the side.
00:04:41The planting here with the moss and the nettles, the trees.
00:04:46Kind of nostalgic for me.
00:04:47Because one of my favorite zoos that I built in the past was a North American zoo.
00:04:55And yeah, I still love working with that architecture.
00:04:58We're just going to do a whole revolution around the American bison habitat.
00:05:04So these impressive creatures.
00:05:10And we get some pronghorn as well.
00:05:13And some babies.
00:05:14We're not going to look over there just yet.
00:05:16We are going to check out the bison habitat.
00:05:19They have a very, very sturdy fence here.
00:05:23Because these guys are tough.
00:05:25And, you know, some people think, think, underestimate them a bit.
00:05:30You might have seen footage from, like, national parks in America and or Canada.
00:05:35Or people want to go up to a moose or a bison and give them a little pet.
00:05:42But don't do that, guys.
00:05:44But look at this habitat.
00:05:46The way it slopes down with this sort of moat effect here at the end.
00:05:52You get the pronghorn grazing here under the sun.
00:05:56And the bison back there.
00:05:58One thing I have noticed, though, that the zoo has plenty of animal species.
00:06:02But the population of each animal is not that large.
00:06:08Like, this has a parent and a child bison.
00:06:13I think that's it.
00:06:14Perhaps the fact that it's a sanctuary has something to do with that.
00:06:18I might want to look that up.
00:06:21There's a whole series on YouTube about this zoo by Sparrow.
00:06:26So, obviously, I recommend go checking that out.
00:06:29Look at this wonderful statue, by the way.
00:06:31Which I haven't noticed yet.
00:06:34Amazing.
00:06:35We are definitely just gonna go around this whole place.
00:06:38There is a map here, which I'm going to try and follow for the most part.
00:06:43With details, with the restrooms, parking.
00:06:46A beautifully designed map.
00:06:48Sharp, snappy design.
00:06:49Wonderful font.
00:06:51Great use of color.
00:06:52We're going to head here.
00:06:54And then we're gonna check out this place.
00:06:57Go like this.
00:07:00And then go like this.
00:07:02And then like this.
00:07:03That's the idea.
00:07:03Just so you know.
00:07:05But just, yeah, I want to show you the stuff like this.
00:07:09These banner posts here.
00:07:11With all the explanation.
00:07:13That is clear.
00:07:14Definitely where this zoo stands out.
00:07:17The signage.
00:07:19The educational content everywhere.
00:07:25Yeah, now that we're here, why don't we check out the gift shop.
00:07:27I think this is also a standout moment here in the zoo.
00:07:31This gift shop entry with this wonderful, you know, triangular shape here.
00:07:39A great terrace here to have dinner while you can check out the bisons here.
00:07:44And the pronghorn, you're going to grab your little panini here, sit down, and yeah, check out the sights with the mountains as the backdrop, the trees here.
00:07:58Already I feel fully immersed in this place.
00:08:01So let's check inside.
00:08:03I have no doubt this is going to be very detailed and wonderful.
00:08:07And of course it is.
00:08:08Look at this structure here.
00:08:12These beams supporting this roof.
00:08:14The windows at the back.
00:08:16This amazing way you need to reach the gift shop.
00:08:21What is this?
00:08:27Oh.
00:08:29Ah, okay.
00:08:29It's not a piece.
00:08:31I was confused.
00:08:32It's an actual counter in the game.
00:08:35But this is the gift shop.
00:08:37Look at this faux tree here.
00:08:39I love that.
00:08:41And this actually, is this like the sleeping enrichment?
00:08:46Plaster to the top to create this sort of funny faux tree effect.
00:08:50You get this wonderful gift shop.
00:08:52Everything here has the color scheme of the zoo with these steel and green and a sort of bronzish theme.
00:09:02You get a whole bunch of custom made stuffed toys here.
00:09:09Is this like phone cases or something?
00:09:12I'm not sure.
00:09:14I'm not sure.
00:09:14But we get mugs.
00:09:16We get, ooh, we get these like nice minerals and everything.
00:09:20That is so cool.
00:09:22I don't think I've seen that before.
00:09:25That's so nice.
00:09:29Yep, at the other end, let's sprint.
00:09:32We get some books as well.
00:09:33Or some notebooks.
00:09:37I love it.
00:09:38And at this side you have the indoor.
00:09:41Ah, wonderful.
00:09:42The lighting hit just right.
00:09:45This feels like a real place for sure.
00:09:48This feels like the way the lighting is working with us here.
00:09:52We can grab some food here.
00:09:54This guy is kind of bored, waiting for a customer.
00:09:58What they're making.
00:09:59What are they making?
00:10:01A carrot, tomato and apple salad with a lump of brown.
00:10:10Seems to be the idea.
00:10:13I love it.
00:10:14Let's head out here and head on down there.
00:10:21So I'm not going to look over there yet.
00:10:23But we're going to head to the woodland walk.
00:10:27And let's head into this area first.
00:10:30Look at this green roof, by the way, which we're not permitted to enter.
00:10:34Eco-friendly as well.
00:10:35You love to see it.
00:10:36But yeah, another thing that this zoo really makes stand out for me is,
00:10:42you know, aside from just the wonderful architecture and the environment,
00:10:47is the educational stuff, the learning center,
00:10:50where you get places like, I'm going to assume how to learn how to plan something.
00:10:57Right?
00:10:58I think that this is what it's going to be.
00:11:02It's just like this classroom environment.
00:11:05I love it.
00:11:06Learning about plants that grow in the local environment.
00:11:13You get a box of crayons here, a screen here, an actual transportable, like, smart board.
00:11:21It has to be said that Sparrow is a teacher.
00:11:25So I'm not sure exactly what subjects or anything or what years,
00:11:29but they are a teacher.
00:11:31And I think it really shows in their attention here to the educational aspect,
00:11:35like this classroom environment where probably schools stop by and get some explanation and everything.
00:11:42And I think the attention to detail here of that screen here with these, like, pens and everything.
00:11:49And this is something who has been in an educational situation, for sure.
00:11:55So absolutely worth the visit here.
00:11:58And we're going to start the woodland walk.
00:12:01If I miss something, guys, that's on me.
00:12:03I will, at the end, zoom out and check out everything that I might have missed.
00:12:07We're going to do the guest experience.
00:12:09And that means we might have to double back sometimes.
00:12:12And it's possible that we missed stuff.
00:12:15But I will just try and do the guest experience with first these exhibits here for the bullfrog.
00:12:23Let's see if we can find the guy.
00:12:25I think there he goes.
00:12:27And this is going to be the diamond back terrapin.
00:12:31Yes, there we have them.
00:12:35Great exhibit boxes.
00:12:36Just look at the way it's, you know, sort of hidden, these huge giant boxes with these faux trees and everything, and the ivy.
00:12:46It really sells the idea.
00:12:51Wonderful stuff.
00:12:53Let's not head down there just yet.
00:12:56We're going to head on down here.
00:12:58We get a glimpse of the backstage there with the greenhouse.
00:13:02A beautiful river here.
00:13:09Actually, I'm going to head down there.
00:13:11I'm going to change my mind once again.
00:13:13Because this looks like a fox habitat that I need to check out before I move on.
00:13:19And they actually seem to have their little backstage area under the education center.
00:13:27That's really fun.
00:13:28I love the way parts of this zoo have elevation and slopes.
00:13:33But it feels natural every time.
00:13:35This is sunken down just so you can walk down here.
00:13:40Have a sit.
00:13:42Have a look.
00:13:45And check out these foxes here.
00:13:47Playing with the balls.
00:13:50Love it.
00:13:51He's going to have a little go.
00:13:52The red fox lives in a lot of places, but in this zoo is represented as a North American animal.
00:14:03We get a glimpse there of what's coming next.
00:14:06Seems like a fun little teaser, but we're not supposed to be looking over that fence just yet.
00:14:13Let's continue our way over here.
00:14:18Over this bridge with the beautiful weeping willow back here.
00:14:22Two of them in fact.
00:14:25We're getting some previews here of what's to come.
00:14:28I feel like I'm looking at a beaver as well, but we'll get there when we get there.
00:14:32This is an sort of indoor habitat for the raccoon.
00:14:45And I don't think I've seen one like this before with this round like, you know,
00:14:50it's not called an aviary.
00:14:51It's called a cage with the pole in the middle.
00:14:55And actually we're getting to see them in a really cool place.
00:14:59Just elevated up there.
00:15:01I think there's one below here.
00:15:03There's a couple of them in fact.
00:15:05A very fun little habitat.
00:15:08Raccoons are, you know, is that the word ubiquitous in North America?
00:15:15They're not really seen as zoo animals per se.
00:15:17Here in Belgium where I live, they're definitely zoo animals.
00:15:22But yeah, I love the way the lighting is interacting with this glass here.
00:15:27A great little habitat.
00:15:31Oh, they are in fact greenhouses repurposed, as I can see here.
00:15:36Which is probably explained further on these signs.
00:15:39These were two greenhouses repurposed into habitats.
00:15:43And we also get this cute little striped skunk habitat.
00:15:49And when I say cute, I mean it.
00:15:51Look at the flowers.
00:15:52Look at the nod back to the greenhouse past of this habitat.
00:15:56In fact, the whole thing seems to be a reference to the past of this little cage as a greenhouse.
00:16:03And I don't see a lot of builders using these butterfly signs these days.
00:16:10But which is just a bit of a shame.
00:16:12Because they really add a cuteness factor to this habitat for sure.
00:16:16Wonderful stuff, the both of these habitats.
00:16:20And let's have a stop here at this wonderful little plaza here with these heaters.
00:16:28Which you also, I don't see these used very often.
00:16:32You know, it has to be said, I spend a lot of time in hot climates and desert zoos.
00:16:37Because I love desert zoos.
00:16:39So it's kind of obvious I don't get to see these often.
00:16:41Wait, we can get a coffee, a donut or some fries.
00:16:45Sit here.
00:16:47Warm ourselves.
00:16:51And then we're good to go.
00:16:53With these tree guards here and the nettles growing inside.
00:16:57I love it.
00:17:00By the way guys, there's a mud out now.
00:17:02Which changes a lot of trees.
00:17:04Like um...
00:17:06These kind of, of course not, not, not these trees.
00:17:08But these trees do autumn colors.
00:17:10So if you want to build an autumn inspired zoo.
00:17:14You can get all trees to look like this or that one.
00:17:19And it looks great.
00:17:20We're going to head on down to the Beaver Lodge and the Edu station.
00:17:26And I hope I don't miss any educational centers.
00:17:29Because they really make this zoo stand out for sure.
00:17:32At this end we just have some backstage stuff.
00:17:39Maximum clearance five and a half meters.
00:17:42You love to see it.
00:17:44Imperial system.
00:17:46And at this...
00:17:46No, what am I saying?
00:17:48The metric system.
00:17:49Yeah.
00:17:49And this little guard protecting the drivers from accidental rock falls.
00:17:57I think that kind of detail reveals that Sparrow actually lives in North, North America.
00:18:04It's not something I would ever think, think to do.
00:18:06I'm actually getting stuck here in the explore mode.
00:18:09So it seems like I need to have a little jump.
00:18:12There we go.
00:18:13Here we get a grand overview of the moose and beaver habitat.
00:18:18I hadn't noticed that, that they share a habitat.
00:18:21We get a male and female moose.
00:18:23And it looks like a little baby back there.
00:18:26And then we also get beavers.
00:18:29One or more beavers in here.
00:18:33And they do have their little dam here.
00:18:36And yeah.
00:18:40I love it.
00:18:40The tree guards everywhere making sure the beavers don't destroy all the trees in here.
00:18:46Because they would absolutely do that in, you know, probably a very short amount of time.
00:18:52We actually do get some trees here that have been gnawed off.
00:18:56And look at the wonderful way there's like steps into the water.
00:19:00So the moose can gradually get in and out of there.
00:19:06Wonderful.
00:19:10Great habitat.
00:19:10With the backdrop here of that, actually very...
00:19:14That's an actual real mountain built in the game by Sparrow.
00:19:19But it, again, it really merges with the actual mountains back there.
00:19:25Has to be a deliberate choice here, this sideline.
00:19:29Because it really works.
00:19:30We're going to head there as one of the final moments in the tour.
00:19:34So let's go.
00:19:36Let's hope we don't get stuck again.
00:19:37And we're going to head into the beaver lodge where we'll probably get some...
00:19:41Oops.
00:19:42Alright, this path is wreaking havoc on our little explore mode cam.
00:19:49Let's try again.
00:19:50Nope.
00:19:51Let's just do like this.
00:19:53Yep.
00:19:54There we go.
00:19:56Alright, so we do get the North American beaver and the moose.
00:20:00With the wonderful effects here, they can remain underwater for up to 15 minutes.
00:20:06And moose attacks are the most frequent kind of animal attack in North America.
00:20:11I understand it.
00:20:12These guys are big and they don't take any...
00:20:16Shit from you.
00:20:17Pardon the cussing.
00:20:19But yeah, this is the educational aspect here.
00:20:25Where we can find out all about...
00:20:27I'll have to have explained to me what this is all about.
00:20:34Is this meant to be evoke a... meant to evoke a beaver lodge?
00:20:38But we get the cute little owls up there.
00:20:43Explanation.
00:20:48And the amazing moose sign here.
00:20:52There we go.
00:20:53We have left that.
00:20:56This just heads back.
00:20:57So we can ignore that safely.
00:21:00And I'm actually going to check out the map for now.
00:21:06So, beaver lodge.
00:21:08We did the moose and beaver.
00:21:10That's number nine.
00:21:12We just were in...
00:21:14Did we see seven and eight?
00:21:16We did.
00:21:17We're...
00:21:18I don't think we need to head there yet.
00:21:28Or do I?
00:21:31That's the polar center, right?
00:21:33The polar center is...
00:21:35I'm not sure.
00:21:41I'm gonna choose this side.
00:21:46Let's see what we see.
00:21:48At this side, we're actually going to get a couple of aviaries with bird statues.
00:21:54Some of these exist as mods in the game at this point.
00:21:57But I understand it would be a bit of a shake-up to actually have to add mods in these faux habitats.
00:22:05Beautiful bird statue.
00:22:06Again, guys, if you want to know who made all of these,
00:22:10Sparrow has a YouTube series about this and also has on the workshop a collection
00:22:15where they list all of the workshop items used to build this because not everything here was built by her.
00:22:22But, you know, the important parts are, of course, the wonderful architecture.
00:22:27Look at the detailing here where the mesh is connected to the wood here with these like metal strips here.
00:22:35The lights here.
00:22:36The detailing, it has to be said, is exquisite to the point that I'm not even really talking much about it
00:22:43because it just works so well and so naturally that, you know, that you miss these things.
00:22:51But just the way there's texture added to walls like this and everything and this especially stands out to me, like...
00:23:02Not sure.
00:23:02And this little hand rail here as well.
00:23:06Very zoo-like, allowing you to sort of lean on it and check out the birds inside.
00:23:12But also just something that I would forget to build myself were I to make a zoo like this.
00:23:19And we get the blue jay.
00:23:24With their own little, cute little habitat.
00:23:27And we get the, I'm going to assume, the red jay.
00:23:30No, the northern car.
00:23:31A little excuse me.
00:23:33Shows what I know.
00:23:34I don't know every bird in the world.
00:23:38We actually got to see these as well at the beaver educational station.
00:23:43What we missed at this point is this sideways view, if you will, of the moose.
00:23:48And we're instructed to steer clear of them.
00:23:52Again, guys, look at the nails keeping these wooden posts attached to each other.
00:23:58Attention to detail is top-notch, for sure.
00:24:03All right.
00:24:05Again, not heading to the arctic zone just yet.
00:24:09Because if I recall, the map sort of instructs us to head here next.
00:24:15Did we miss anything, butterflies?
00:24:17We missed butterflies!
00:24:19Did we miss the butterflies?
00:24:25We've seen everything in the moonland walk, woodland walk, excuse me.
00:24:30But we missed butterflies.
00:24:31Guys, I'm going to run over there and I'll do a quick jump cut.
00:24:35I'm just going to interrupt the quick jump cut here to make you look at this.
00:24:39I know he's clipping through the fence a little bit.
00:24:43It's kind of scary, but just imagine standing here next to this giant animal that
00:24:49at the shoulders is just taller than a human man.
00:24:53What a wonderful sight to see.
00:24:55Even though, you know, it clipped a bit, but that's okay.
00:24:58What a great sight.
00:24:59You can just imagine the sound of it walking and breathing, possibly even the smell.
00:25:06I do have a pungent smell in mind when I look at these guys.
00:25:09I'm not sure if that's actually accurate, but
00:25:12you know, big guys like that, they probably have a little bit of a funk to them.
00:25:16So butterflies.
00:25:18Okay, yeah, there's actually a butterfly garden here.
00:25:20We did, we missed it.
00:25:21So this is a cute little outdoors butterfly garden, a very well hidden exhibit box.
00:25:29It was, it's not possible to tell really that this is like the exhibit box area,
00:25:36because it's just very well hidden with the null path here and the change in elevation here.
00:25:41But we get this wonderful little butterfly garden with the plants here hidden away from the rest
00:25:49of the zoo.
00:25:49You don't really see animals when you're here.
00:25:52You get a little private moment here with the monarch butterfly.
00:25:56All right, I'm happy, happy I saw that.
00:26:02Let's move on back to the next part of the zoo.
00:26:07All right, we're heading over to what I believe is the prairie pathway.
00:26:12We're not heading up there.
00:26:14We're gonna use it as the exit.
00:26:16Walking past this bison sculpture, we get more education on the bison.
00:26:22Such a, such a cool, cool animal.
00:26:26Nearly hunted to extinction at one point, but I'm very glad that these guys are still around.
00:26:33Just look at them.
00:26:34These are just primal, primal animals from another era, if you really think about it.
00:26:40It's a shame that not more of the mega fauna of the past is still around.
00:26:44And we get a final little wonderful look here at the bison and the pronghorn.
00:26:55Sort of a panoramic view here.
00:26:58Really, really well done.
00:27:00Really well made.
00:27:03And we even get like a nod to the teepee here.
00:27:07Sort of like an abstract rendition of it.
00:27:12With an actual smoke pit here.
00:27:14Why have I, why have I not seen this before?
00:27:24Oh, it's the South American wall lights.
00:27:27I have not seen them used like that before.
00:27:29That's really, really smart.
00:27:32We can have a little restroom stop here.
00:27:34And, uh, ah, I'm glad I didn't miss it.
00:27:40Kivitnok.
00:27:42Kivitnok.
00:27:43No.
00:27:44Kivitinok.
00:27:45Gallery of Art and Culture.
00:27:49With these custom font pieces.
00:27:53Is this like the Inuit language or am I being culturally insensitive there?
00:27:57I'm not sure.
00:27:59By the way, look at this teaser.
00:28:01Look at what's to come.
00:28:03But we're going to keep that a teaser for now.
00:28:06Enter.
00:28:07Ooh.
00:28:09I love it.
00:28:11This sort of darker room with these artworks.
00:28:16And these, I believe, are just
00:28:20actual renditions of, seems like the people that is being represented here,
00:28:25made the drawings on animal skins.
00:28:28Perhaps bison or another animal of the sort.
00:28:34This is teaching us all about that.
00:28:39We get more art.
00:28:42Sculptures.
00:28:48More education.
00:28:49What a wonderful little place.
00:28:55Fantastic.
00:28:56Absolutely.
00:28:58I love the fact that the, the, the building is designed this way,
00:29:02so that these animal statues are hidden.
00:29:07I was going to say a beautiful roof here, but that's just the painted slate roof.
00:29:13Something to keep in mind if you want to build a nice roof.
00:29:17Why not the painted slate roof?
00:29:19And we get a, a little cool little shopping area here to get some pizza,
00:29:24gulpy hot dogs, or just some water.
00:29:27Head on up here.
00:29:29Grab your stuff.
00:29:30Made from stuff.
00:29:33And continue with this funny little,
00:29:37bison sculptures again.
00:29:38How detailed are the indoor environments?
00:29:42They're pretty nice.
00:29:44Glad I came here to check it out.
00:29:46Because the detail continues in here.
00:29:49Even with these like air vents for the air conditioning.
00:29:54And uh, oh, I think we're getting a little teeter here.
00:30:01Not quite.
00:30:03Anyway.
00:30:06That's the entrance.
00:30:08We are heading down here.
00:30:11Also something that I just noticed is that the staff is also dressed in the color scheme of the zoo.
00:30:18This like teal, beige, bronze and black that you're looking at right now is also represented
00:30:24in the staff uniforms.
00:30:25I love it.
00:30:27We'll check out the backstage later.
00:30:28There's a whole lot to look at in fact.
00:30:31But uh, that's not for right now.
00:30:33Right now we are guests and we will stick to the paths destined for us.
00:30:37And uh, I'm gonna have another look here at the map.
00:30:43Just to make sure this is not a map.
00:30:46This is the grizzly bear.
00:30:52Compared to us.
00:30:53As you can see guys, I'm not as tall as a grizzly bear.
00:30:58These guys are pretty big.
00:31:00Nearly, as you see, two and a half meters.
00:31:02And they weigh a lot.
00:31:09Okay.
00:31:10I'm gonna do a little quick jump cut here and check out the map before I make any big mistakes here.
00:31:16Alright.
00:31:17I'm actually going to head down there.
00:31:22Look at this cool stuff.
00:31:25I love it.
00:31:25The way the fence is integrated into the rocks here.
00:31:32The way this is supported.
00:31:36You blink and you miss it.
00:31:38All this detailing.
00:31:38But I think in a zoo like this, the detailing is just so natural that you don't tend to stop and look at it.
00:31:45But it's just a way to make a concrete wall look like a real wall.
00:31:51Is by adding all of this extra stuff.
00:31:53And you sort of skip over it.
00:31:55Because it looks so natural.
00:31:57But, right?
00:31:58These little, cute little borders here for the planters and everything.
00:32:03It's just right.
00:32:04It's just perfect.
00:32:05We get the timber wolf here.
00:32:07I did see.
00:32:08I think there's not a lot of them in here.
00:32:12Perhaps deliberately so.
00:32:14But they do get their very majestic habitat.
00:32:18Which actually has a second part, I believe.
00:32:21But we do get the timber wolf here.
00:32:24Clearly one of the stars of the show.
00:32:27With a wonderful building back there.
00:32:29Great planting.
00:32:30Great hinges in elevation.
00:32:32They have their own water section.
00:32:34Which is sort of hidden from view for the guests.
00:32:41I see a little lookout tower over there that we're definitely going to check out.
00:32:48We get the owl.
00:32:50I think this is just like the snowy owl.
00:32:54Definitely want to head up there as well.
00:32:59Look at the enrichment integrated into the tree.
00:33:02Great.
00:33:03Just a tip if you want to do something like that yourself.
00:33:07It works.
00:33:07As long as this thing is placed firmly on a flat surface and everything.
00:33:12You can have items interact with it that way.
00:33:16It is the great grey owl over here.
00:33:20I love owls man.
00:33:23Like I'm a huge fan of owls.
00:33:25I wish I knew more about them to be sure.
00:33:27But there's just a whole bunch of potential comedy present in just the mere look of an owl.
00:33:35The way this guy looks.
00:33:38You can tell just by looking at it.
00:33:40This guy is like surprised.
00:33:41Like what the fuck did you say to me?
00:33:45I love in zoos when they when you make eye contact with an owl.
00:33:49They're also kind of intimidating.
00:33:50They have this very very angry upset look to them.
00:33:55That always makes me feel like okay I'm sorry to intrude on your day.
00:34:00Beautiful barriers here.
00:34:05Keeping the wolves at bay.
00:34:08Beautiful waterfall here.
00:34:11Stacked on top of each other.
00:34:13And then these little water spouts here coming from the stone.
00:34:18Great stuff.
00:34:18Great changes in elevation.
00:34:21We get a whole bunch of explanation about back tactics.
00:34:25And I did not know truly that you could replace these.
00:34:31I've played this game for four years and I did not know you could replace these signs.
00:34:39That actually opens up a whole lot of options for me to build.
00:34:44Oh my god.
00:34:47Meet the pack.
00:34:48Onyx.
00:34:50They're named after minerals.
00:34:52Onyx, Jet, Jasper.
00:34:59That's so cool.
00:35:00They're all introduced to us.
00:35:02As you can see the pack consists of looks like three wolves only.
00:35:11But if you of course let nature run its course the pack will grow.
00:35:15And there's room for at least one more over there.
00:35:19And we get our little timber wolf sign here.
00:35:22As you can see there's their little river here.
00:35:25And we get two of the pack over there.
00:35:31A big big habitat for one of the more signature animals of North America for sure.
00:35:38I'm gonna have a little bio break and I'll see you after this jump cut.
00:35:43Alright and we're back.
00:35:45So what we're gonna do now is this little mountain hike.
00:35:50As you can see we are heading to this mountain here which is a wonderful thing.
00:36:00I also remember building in my North American zoo a very similar doll sheep habitat.
00:36:10With this little mountain viewing.
00:36:12So this feels...
00:36:13Okay I'm just gonna go like this for now.
00:36:16So look at this wonderful habitat.
00:36:20I almost missed that guy down there.
00:36:25Look at the way the mountain is shaped here as the backdrop.
00:36:29So dramatic, full of drama.
00:36:31Great rock work here.
00:36:34All morphed together.
00:36:35There's a lot of rocks being used here.
00:36:38This little patch of grass here.
00:36:40Great stuff.
00:36:42And we're definitely going to head up there.
00:36:44Because I believe it has some great views.
00:36:46And also an implied aviary up there.
00:36:50So let's have a little walk together.
00:36:53Won't we?
00:36:54With the doll sheep.
00:36:57I wonder actually now that the roster has expanded a little bit.
00:37:02If Sparrow would ever want to expand the zoo.
00:37:05But that's a question for later.
00:37:07It's actually quite a walk up there.
00:37:09So I think...
00:37:13I'm gonna do it.
00:37:15But I might sprint a little bit.
00:37:17There you go.
00:37:20We get some teasers of what's to come.
00:37:22But again, let's keep that as a teaser.
00:37:25We can have a little rest here.
00:37:28And continue on.
00:37:30Let's go.
00:37:31Don't need a second rest.
00:37:32We're fine.
00:37:34Actually I do need a third rest.
00:37:35Let's actually have a first look here.
00:37:38At this wonderful valley.
00:37:40Where this sanctuary is located.
00:37:43With these towering mountains all around.
00:37:46You have to love the maps in Poland Zoo.
00:37:48That have these backdrops.
00:37:49They are.
00:37:51They can really elevate a zoo.
00:37:53If you choose the right backdrop.
00:37:54And also make your zoo interact with that backdrop.
00:37:58As I've seen happen in this zoo.
00:38:00So this is...
00:38:10Like a mining hallway kind of.
00:38:12A tunnel through the mountaintop.
00:38:15Yes, there we go.
00:38:16So we do have some ore being mined here.
00:38:20With these custom made minecarts.
00:38:24Gorgeous.
00:38:25And here we have the bald eagle.
00:38:28The North American bird of course.
00:38:32A symbol of the nation and the region really.
00:38:37Great, great predators.
00:38:41Great eyesight.
00:38:43And now that's a fact that I did not know.
00:38:45When a bald eagle loses a feather on one wing.
00:38:48It will lose a feather on the other.
00:38:51In order to keep balance.
00:38:53I did not know that.
00:38:54And that is generally a really cool fact.
00:38:58So we get the bald eagle here.
00:38:59In their little aviary.
00:39:01Seems like we have a breeding pair over here.
00:39:06And on the other hand we have these perches here.
00:39:08For them to sit.
00:39:10And to get inside.
00:39:12But the view here of course is amazing.
00:39:16Mostly a treetop view.
00:39:18Making the zoo look like really hidden in the trees.
00:39:24Great stuff.
00:39:27If you want you can check out the doll sheep down below.
00:39:31For a really cool unique view of the animals.
00:39:34Way down there.
00:39:37Wonderful.
00:39:38Now we're gonna do a little speed run back to the bottom of the mountain.
00:39:42But very well made.
00:39:44Great terraforming here.
00:39:49Can you just imagine how cold it is up here.
00:39:51And then you get to see the cool eagles sitting there.
00:39:54Probably with a lot of wind through their feathers and everything.
00:39:58Great stuff.
00:39:59Majestic and everything.
00:40:01All right we have a bit of a ways to go.
00:40:04But we're gonna head over here.
00:40:07I was actually fooled.
00:40:13By this faux faux little habitat kind of.
00:40:17I thought this was like a grizzly bear.
00:40:20A pair of white grizzly bears.
00:40:22But it's not.
00:40:23Anyway let's continue.
00:40:25Perry pathway and a restaurant is heading up.
00:40:29Here we get the reindeer or the caribou.
00:40:32As they're often called in this region of the world.
00:40:35And another beautiful habitat.
00:40:39What stands out to me thus far is also the, I've said this,
00:40:44but like the elevation that is always at play here.
00:40:47The whole zoo is not built on a flat rectangle.
00:40:51There's elevation everywhere.
00:40:53And the planning it must have taken or, you know,
00:40:56at least the skill to make it all come together is commendable for sure.
00:41:01But the elevation here as well.
00:41:04And then you have this wall to keep the earth at bay here.
00:41:09And you get the reindeer.
00:41:12Not sure if there's more than just this parent and the two little babies.
00:41:18But uh, I love it.
00:41:22Absolutely love it.
00:41:25Over on this end we seem to be crossing over.
00:41:29But I might remember being another part of the wolf habitat.
00:41:34Or just the second wolf habitat.
00:41:36Or is this still the reindeer?
00:41:38Or is it grizzly bear?
00:41:40Or is it cougar?
00:41:41I'm not sure yet.
00:41:42I think all will be revealed.
00:41:44Because I'm not seeing.
00:41:47This seems like a cat habitat.
00:41:52But like cat habitats are often one to do,
00:41:55it's not easy to spot the cat.
00:41:58If you've been to real life zoos, they are very often the animal
00:42:02that is hidden somewhere, sleeping, hiding.
00:42:05So this is a very realistic habitat for sure.
00:42:08Let's not miss this little reindeer look into their stables actually.
00:42:16Very well made sturdy looking interior here.
00:42:21And we are not permitted to go down there.
00:42:23We get a little teaser here of the arctic zone.
00:42:26I think we missed a spot.
00:42:34Didn't we?
00:42:41Let's zoom out a bit.
00:42:42We continue our visit this way to make sure we see everything.
00:42:55So this little cute little garden here with the ferns and everything and the nettles.
00:43:01The mulch is wonderful.
00:43:03But we want to take a look first of all at what must be the cougar.
00:43:09But I don't know where it is.
00:43:11He or she.
00:43:13There's plenty of space, plenty of climbing.
00:43:16A big building here.
00:43:18I was reminded to check out the education center above the links.
00:43:22But I think I...
00:43:25Well this is not the link so...
00:43:28Whatever.
00:43:30Getting my animals mixed up.
00:43:31Excuse me.
00:43:32Where is this cougar hiding at?
00:43:37Should I spoil myself and try and look for it in the overlay?
00:43:40I'm gonna do it.
00:43:42Oh.
00:43:43Checks out.
00:43:44It's sleeping right over there.
00:43:46And I think there's only one of them.
00:43:48So a lot of space for this animal.
00:43:50Which I think is fair.
00:43:52I think a lot of these animals are solitary.
00:43:59And you often see them in Planet Zoo in pairs.
00:44:01But very often like tigers and everything are solitary animals.
00:44:06And are not often paired up in zoos like this.
00:44:09Then we get the grizzly bear.
00:44:15Ursus Arctos Horribilis.
00:44:18The horrible arctic bear.
00:44:22Pretty much.
00:44:25These guys.
00:44:26A fact that I did know.
00:44:27They sleep.
00:44:28They hibernate for five to seven months of the year.
00:44:32There's actually a competition.
00:44:33Which has gained some traction on social media.
00:44:37In some national park or other.
00:44:39Forgive me for not knowing.
00:44:40That sort of holds a competition for the fattest bear.
00:44:45Because these bears stuff themselves full of food.
00:44:48Absolutely.
00:44:50Become absolute units.
00:44:51As they say.
00:44:52And then they sleep through the coldest.
00:44:55Most challenging parts of the year.
00:44:57And then they wake up.
00:44:59Having pretty much.
00:44:59You know.
00:45:00Consume all of that food.
00:45:02And fat.
00:45:02And then they.
00:45:03Can spend the next month.
00:45:05Getting ready for the next hibernation.
00:45:07A really really unique way of.
00:45:09Of existing.
00:45:11That's very rare in animals.
00:45:13Honestly.
00:45:14Can you imagine going to sleep for five months.
00:45:17Uh.
00:45:18Crazy stuff actually.
00:45:19I know there's like some.
00:45:21Some fish.
00:45:23Or reptiles.
00:45:24Or amphibians.
00:45:25What am I thinking.
00:45:26Like.
00:45:28Yeah.
00:45:28Also some insects.
00:45:29They can do that.
00:45:30Like really stay asleep.
00:45:32And hidden in harsh.
00:45:34Uh.
00:45:34Environments for prolonged.
00:45:38Oh.
00:45:39We have to check this of course.
00:45:41The salmon.
00:45:42The river is also.
00:45:44Used to display these salmon.
00:45:47Because as you know.
00:45:48Uh.
00:45:49One of the most striking behaviors of bears.
00:45:52In their natural habitat.
00:45:54Is their salmon fishing.
00:45:55Because salmons.
00:45:56They do a whole lot of migrating.
00:45:58To get to their breeding environments.
00:46:01And bears know this of course.
00:46:03And they just go stand in rivers.
00:46:05And catch these giant.
00:46:08Honestly.
00:46:09Very tasty.
00:46:10Fish.
00:46:10So I understand.
00:46:13Look at this top down view of the bear.
00:46:15I hope I don't drop my phone down there.
00:46:21Don't know about you guys.
00:46:22I've genuinely lost something.
00:46:24In an animal habitat before.
00:46:25It was some sunglasses.
00:46:27And it was in a tortoise habitat.
00:46:30I think it was.
00:46:32Aldabrapt tortoises.
00:46:35And I.
00:46:35My sunglasses fell in there.
00:46:37And I didn't want to get them.
00:46:38I feel like I've told that story before.
00:46:40On a.
00:46:41On a.
00:46:41Plan 2 video.
00:46:42All right.
00:46:44So we get.
00:46:45Explanation as to the fish.
00:46:47These guys.
00:46:48Hunt for in their rivers.
00:46:50With of course the salmon being.
00:46:52The standout here.
00:46:54And that means we have completed.
00:46:57The.
00:46:57Mountain hike.
00:46:59Section here.
00:47:02And the prairie pathway.
00:47:04And I believe.
00:47:05We're getting close to the.
00:47:07Ending of this.
00:47:08Well.
00:47:09We're heading close to the final section.
00:47:12Of course.
00:47:14Yep.
00:47:14We've done that.
00:47:16We're gonna.
00:47:18Jump right on over.
00:47:20Here.
00:47:23For the arctic zone.
00:47:26We saw all of that.
00:47:27Yes.
00:47:28We've seen.
00:47:29All of these animals.
00:47:31We're going to head to the arctic fox.
00:47:34Snowy owl.
00:47:34Do a whole.
00:47:36Loop against the whooping crane.
00:47:41King penguin.
00:47:42All right.
00:47:43I think we're.
00:47:44Gonna do just fine.
00:47:46The arctic zone.
00:47:47Is to our.
00:47:48Right.
00:47:48It seems.
00:47:50Is that correct.
00:47:54It is.
00:47:56Let's go.
00:48:01The change in elevation.
00:48:02Once again.
00:48:04We get.
00:48:10Yeah.
00:48:11We're gonna head on this way.
00:48:13For another view here.
00:48:14Of the reindeer.
00:48:15A little bit more of a.
00:48:17Private secluded view.
00:48:25A little wonderful picnic section.
00:48:27With a view of the very cool arctic.
00:48:30Building back there.
00:48:31Which I will reveal in full.
00:48:32Of course.
00:48:33And we get the whooping crane.
00:48:35This is a.
00:48:38A custom statue.
00:48:39I'm pretty sure at this point.
00:48:40There's a mod.
00:48:41Out there.
00:48:42For these.
00:48:43Large.
00:48:46Bird.
00:48:47But.
00:48:47In this particular instance.
00:48:49They are.
00:48:50Bird statues.
00:48:51But still.
00:48:54A great habitat.
00:48:55I think the standout here.
00:48:56Is this.
00:48:56Is this.
00:48:57Shelter building.
00:48:58With the ramp here.
00:48:59And feels like.
00:49:03A place in the zoo.
00:49:04To relax.
00:49:05Unwind.
00:49:07Watch these cool guys.
00:49:10On their.
00:49:10Stilty legs.
00:49:12Is that a word?
00:49:12Stilty?
00:49:13I'm not sure.
00:49:15One thing I appreciate here.
00:49:18One.
00:49:18One issue I have.
00:49:19Often in my zoos.
00:49:21Like.
00:49:21If you want to.
00:49:22Create a forest.
00:49:23You also.
00:49:24Always can look.
00:49:25To.
00:49:26The borders of the map.
00:49:27But.
00:49:28One effect here.
00:49:30That I appreciate.
00:49:31It.
00:49:31I'm not sure.
00:49:32If it's on purpose.
00:49:33Is that the.
00:49:34Ground here.
00:49:35Rises up.
00:49:35Just a little bit.
00:49:37So that.
00:49:38The horizon.
00:49:40Is.
00:49:41Hidden from your view.
00:49:42And this feels.
00:49:43Does feel like.
00:49:44A forest environment.
00:49:45I'm not sure.
00:49:46If that's on purpose.
00:49:47But it's a trick.
00:49:49For sure.
00:49:50Play around.
00:49:50With elevation.
00:49:51To create.
00:49:52Interesting sight lines.
00:49:53And effects.
00:49:53Is definitely.
00:49:55A takeaway.
00:49:56From a.
00:49:56True north sanctuary.
00:49:58At this point.
00:50:01We're not.
00:50:01Going to head.
00:50:02To the cold dome.
00:50:03Just yet.
00:50:05Although.
00:50:05We can have.
00:50:06A look here.
00:50:06At its wonderful.
00:50:07Architecture.
00:50:08We have.
00:50:09Looped around.
00:50:09The whooping crane.
00:50:10We're here.
00:50:11So.
00:50:11Why don't.
00:50:12We go.
00:50:12Check out.
00:50:13The.
00:50:14Arctic fox.
00:50:15And snowy owl.
00:50:17First.
00:50:17Before we head into.
00:50:19The cold dome.
00:50:20I believe.
00:50:21This is going to be.
00:50:22The snowy owl.
00:50:24Bird statue.
00:50:25There you go.
00:50:26Very realistic.
00:50:29And the arctic fox.
00:50:31Has a.
00:50:33Cute little.
00:50:34Indoor.
00:50:35Environment here.
00:50:38Where they can.
00:50:39Hang out.
00:50:40In these.
00:50:40Chilled environments.
00:50:42And they have.
00:50:44Not very much.
00:50:45An outdoor.
00:50:46Because this is still.
00:50:47Clearly an environment.
00:50:48That's being.
00:50:49Kept cold.
00:50:50For the animals.
00:50:55But I love it.
00:50:56Look at this.
00:50:57This like.
00:51:00Blowing fake snow.
00:51:01Into the habitat.
00:51:02And I feel.
00:51:03Like this is meant.
00:51:04To evoke.
00:51:05That the windows.
00:51:06Are like.
00:51:07I'm not sure.
00:51:08What the word is.
00:51:08But that.
00:51:09There's like.
00:51:09A frozen air.
00:51:11Or I guess.
00:51:12On the windows.
00:51:13Condensation.
00:51:14I'm not sure.
00:51:15But you get.
00:51:15What I mean.
00:51:15Right?
00:51:16Like the thing.
00:51:17That happens.
00:51:17In your.
00:51:18In your fridge.
00:51:18In your freezer.
00:51:20Like that is happening.
00:51:21On these windows.
00:51:23You love it.
00:51:25Well I love it.
00:51:25For sure.
00:51:26Oh.
00:51:28This is nice as well.
00:51:29I hadn't noticed that.
00:51:30The gradient here.
00:51:31In the.
00:51:32In the banners.
00:51:35Leading to.
00:51:36The reveal here.
00:51:37Of this climate initiative.
00:51:41Cold dome.
00:51:43Again.
00:51:43The theming in the zoo.
00:51:45Is on point.
00:51:46With the color scheme.
00:51:47Kept.
00:51:48From start to finish.
00:51:49This white.
00:51:50Teal.
00:51:51Greenish.
00:51:52Uh.
00:51:53Now silver.
00:51:54And white.
00:51:54As well.
00:51:55And you love.
00:51:57The look of this.
00:51:58This dome really.
00:52:00These supporting structures.
00:52:02Very.
00:52:02Modern.
00:52:04Organic shape.
00:52:07Amazing stuff.
00:52:12Very impressive.
00:52:17Let's go inside.
00:52:18You can just imagine.
00:52:19How cold it must be in here.
00:52:22To our right.
00:52:23We get.
00:52:25The.
00:52:26Penguin.
00:52:27The king penguin.
00:52:34Great stuff.
00:52:35They're swimming.
00:52:37And we do get a bit of an underwater view here.
00:52:40Sort of at eye level.
00:52:44Great stuff.
00:52:44Penguin habits are very interesting in zoos.
00:52:47It's uh.
00:52:48Not easy to replicate their natural environment.
00:52:51Because their natural environment is so.
00:52:53Well alien to us.
00:52:55These guys live.
00:52:58In.
00:52:58In.
00:52:58You know.
00:52:58One of the most alien places in the world.
00:53:01If not the most.
00:53:02And in zoos.
00:53:03You very often see them.
00:53:05Yeah.
00:53:05So.
00:53:06Sort of like this.
00:53:06In these.
00:53:08Very.
00:53:09Like.
00:53:10Concrete.
00:53:12Man-made environments.
00:53:15Because you cannot replicate this.
00:53:17This biome.
00:53:19In.
00:53:19In.
00:53:20In a zoo.
00:53:21For sure.
00:53:21You can try.
00:53:22In plant zoo.
00:53:23But this is very.
00:53:24Very much a realistic approach.
00:53:26To a penguin habitat.
00:53:31The record for deepest dive by king penguin is 343 meters.
00:53:37Excuse me.
00:53:38What.
00:53:40What did it have to do all the way down there?
00:53:45Oh.
00:53:45And that is interesting.
00:53:48Do the penguins have a backstage pool?
00:53:51It looks like they do.
00:53:52I don't think we get to see it.
00:53:54But it looks like they can access their backstage.
00:53:58Through this underwater tunnel.
00:54:00Very cool.
00:54:01Very cool.
00:54:05It looks like we get a little bit of a.
00:54:07Teaser window.
00:54:08In what must be.
00:54:11The um.
00:54:12Polar bear habitat.
00:54:13And we're not seeing it just yet.
00:54:17But I am seeing a beautiful.
00:54:20Beautiful wall.
00:54:21Guys.
00:54:22That is so beautiful.
00:54:24Look at this.
00:54:25It looks like a wallpaper.
00:54:27But this is actually.
00:54:30These four rocks.
00:54:31Beautifully.
00:54:32Colored.
00:54:34Sunken into the concrete.
00:54:36And then these girders.
00:54:37And then uh.
00:54:38And then this thing is blowing cold air.
00:54:42And snow into the habitat.
00:54:46Amazing.
00:54:48I don't even mind that I'm not seeing.
00:54:50Oh.
00:54:50And actually.
00:54:51Guys.
00:54:51Look at this.
00:54:52The caribou moss.
00:54:54In game.
00:54:56I thought I never lived to see the day.
00:54:59Let someone use this strange.
00:55:02Uh.
00:55:02Plant.
00:55:03That I don't know what to do with in my games.
00:55:07I understand it.
00:55:08Used like this.
00:55:09It makes sense.
00:55:10So I don't think we're going to get to see the polar bear.
00:55:13So we're going to move past this.
00:55:15Little.
00:55:16Backstage peak.
00:55:18For the seals here.
00:55:20And we actually get to see them.
00:55:23Very realistic backstage area.
00:55:25Right?
00:55:26This looks a bit aged.
00:55:27A bit cracked.
00:55:29The habitat itself.
00:55:33Has an outdoor and indoor section.
00:55:35As you can tell.
00:55:38And I think both of them are in there.
00:55:40So we're not going to see them swimming.
00:55:44Oh.
00:55:44I love the green peaking.
00:55:48I love it.
00:55:50Look at how the colors of the zoo are represented.
00:55:55In every aspect of it.
00:55:56That's attention to detail.
00:55:58Absolutely.
00:55:59So I think there's really only one standout animal left after this seal habitat.
00:56:07Which again features this wonderful grime here on the windows.
00:56:12We can head on up here.
00:56:14We know that's...
00:56:15Oh.
00:56:16Wait a minute.
00:56:17That is cool.
00:56:19You guys see what she did right?
00:56:21I'm absolutely sure that there's a hidden moat between the seals and the polar bear there.
00:56:28I'm so happy we got to see that.
00:56:31I don't think that happens all the time.
00:56:32But I'm very sure that there's a hidden moat here.
00:56:38And that you don't see it.
00:56:39And that it absolutely looks like the polar bear can just enter this habitat.
00:56:45That was nice.
00:56:47That was a little moment of magic honestly.
00:56:51And I'm glad I got to show that off to you just now.
00:56:55Because that was clearly the deliberate intent here of this little section.
00:57:01But yeah.
00:57:01The seals are as you know inside having a gorging on some fish.
00:57:07So we're not having to look for them in here.
00:57:17And then we get the polar bear with its own viewing gallery.
00:57:23And the polar adventure huh?
00:57:28Hmm.
00:57:31Let's find out all about that later.
00:57:34The polar bear as you can see is the largest carnivore.
00:57:38Between 400 and 600 kilograms guys.
00:57:41Think about that.
00:57:42If you don't know what kilograms are look it up in pounds.
00:57:45That is a lot.
00:57:47And they are tall.
00:57:48They are nearly three meters standing upright.
00:57:53You don't want to mess with these guys.
00:57:56Absolute killers.
00:57:57Absolute survivors.
00:58:01I'm gonna do a little favor here to the zoo.
00:58:08And get rid of this tall grass.
00:58:11There you go.
00:58:13There you go.
00:58:14So the viewing gallery.
00:58:16Ooh.
00:58:16Great for the polar bear.
00:58:20We're having a lot of luck with the polar bear.
00:58:24Let's have a little rest here.
00:58:31Great, great, great design.
00:58:33These two mountains are putting in a lot of work to make this zoo look great.
00:58:37They've been used as the key structures many times over in terms of sight lines.
00:58:47But here we get the polar bear in this massive viewing area with beautiful rocks here at the back
00:58:54also as well.
00:58:56But I think it's just one polar bear in here.
00:58:59But it has been giving us a show and really showcasing the design here of the habitat.
00:59:05Absolutely.
00:59:07The polar bear.
00:59:09They do not need to drink water because they can produce it through digesting seal blubber.
00:59:15That's awesome.
00:59:19And in fact, where would a polar bear get its drinking water?
00:59:22I guess it could eat the snow.
00:59:28Great stuff.
00:59:29Great stairs as well, by the way.
00:59:34Yes, the huge statue of the polar bear with more science and explanation.
00:59:39And I think polar adventure just denotes this particular building, right?
00:59:47Perhaps you can actually get some educational signs or maybe a staff education moment.
01:00:00But yeah, the polar bear absolutely has been making it worth our time to check out its habitat.
01:00:07I love the way that you are beneath it at every point here.
01:00:13Really driving home the point that these are giant, giant animals.
01:00:20And that you're sort of below them.
01:00:23And I think, guys, that after this polar adventure, we don't have a lot left to look at.
01:00:33Do we?
01:00:37We do get the Arctic Wolf.
01:00:44Bit of a controversial animal in Planet Zoo history.
01:00:47Because if you remember, it was one of the earliest animals to have been released.
01:00:53What is this building?
01:00:54Have we been there?
01:00:56We need to look at a lot of stuff yet.
01:00:58But the Arctic Wolf is not very often used in zoos these days because people are like...
01:01:07It's just the Timber Wolf colored white.
01:01:09But I don't want to downplay how nice this habitat is, by the way.
01:01:14Again, with this railing here.
01:01:16I'm not sure where they are.
01:01:18We have a little Arctic Wolf Cub here.
01:01:19It's probably going to be another small pack here.
01:01:23And it seems like they have a little bit of a tunnel over there.
01:01:27So let us continue.
01:01:29Oh, this is nice as well.
01:01:33This is from the polar bear, right?
01:01:35Yes.
01:01:38Look at that.
01:01:39Look at the way the whole habitat is condensed, if you will.
01:01:43And if they actually sleep here, you can just see this massive, massive animal.
01:01:57We are really being treated by this polar bear.
01:02:01Great habitat.
01:02:02Absolutely.
01:02:03Absolutely the star of this zoo.
01:02:08The way it interacts with the environment here at the back.
01:02:11The way the polar bear interacts with it.
01:02:15Fantastic.
01:02:19So, Arctic Wolf currently not showing itself except for the little cub.
01:02:26That's okay.
01:02:26We know they have that.
01:02:27It's fine.
01:02:28Northern Light Society Polar Center.
01:02:32I believe is going to be yet another viewing area for the polar bear,
01:02:38which honestly is fair.
01:02:40So, they are really, really cool animals.
01:02:46And this habitat is also really, really nice.
01:02:49So, that is yet another way to view...
01:02:58Haha.
01:03:00I love that.
01:03:01I love that.
01:03:03Very smart.
01:03:04Minimalistic design.
01:03:05I love it.
01:03:10There's actually these custom stairs up here.
01:03:15Ooh.
01:03:16Ooh, that is smart.
01:03:19That is really smart as well.
01:03:21Using a screen as the floor.
01:03:25As the floor.
01:03:26Why?
01:03:26Have I seen someone do that before?
01:03:29I don't think I have.
01:03:31Or maybe I did and I didn't notice.
01:03:33But using the screen here as the floor, so that you're walking on these like ice flows.
01:03:40Really, really clever.
01:03:42Really, really clever.
01:03:44And we actually get a video here showcasing the environment that the polar bears live in.
01:03:50I'm not sure if there's sound.
01:03:51I don't have sound playing here.
01:03:53Perhaps if you visit this zoo yourself, which I heartily recommend.
01:03:58Maybe you guys can go and check out if there's actually sound playing at this point.
01:04:02But yeah, you don't see a lot of people using videos like this.
01:04:08But Sparrow, again, the teacher that she is.
01:04:11Absolutely made sure to have a lot of education here.
01:04:16We're gonna have to...
01:04:19Ooh.
01:04:23Beautiful.
01:04:24Oh my god.
01:04:26What a place.
01:04:29What a place.
01:04:30Is this like a wedding venue or something?
01:04:34By the way, congratulations Sparrow on your wedding.
01:04:38Sparrow recently got married, so...
01:04:44This is so, so amazing.
01:04:47This little wedding venue here with an actual dance floor.
01:04:51With a DJ booth and everything.
01:04:54A bar here and a kitchen.
01:04:58Flowers.
01:05:00Candles, plates.
01:05:03Beautiful.
01:05:06Actually even get a balcony here.
01:05:09With yet another spectacular view here.
01:05:12Of the polar bear.
01:05:15This habitat really is...
01:05:19Fantastic.
01:05:19It's really tough.
01:05:23I've noticed a lot of people have said that.
01:05:26That large habitats is really tough to build.
01:05:28And I agree to, in a sense, that you just have to, you know, do a lot.
01:05:36Fill in a lot of space.
01:05:37Make sure you're inspired enough to fill it.
01:05:40But personally, I am a person who loves to build big for the animals, even the smaller ones.
01:05:48And I enjoy the scale of things like this.
01:05:51This to me feels natural to build.
01:05:55And the polar bear is such a busy guy or girl.
01:05:58Just let me make sure.
01:05:59It's a...
01:06:00It's not new, but they are a male polar bear.
01:06:02Imagine you get married here and then you're casually eating and you get the polar bear just walking past.
01:06:12This is so cool.
01:06:13You even have this little gift section here.
01:06:16Where Sparrow, who as you can see, has received the gifts for the wedding.
01:06:26Fantastic.
01:06:27Even this window.
01:06:29Ah, man.
01:06:31This has been a blast to visit.
01:06:34Absolutely.
01:06:36I'm just gonna check out the map to double check if I missed any animal or anything.
01:06:43I don't think I did.
01:06:46I think I have seen all of those animals.
01:06:56I don't...
01:06:56I might have missed the great horned owl, actually.
01:06:59But we're very close to it.
01:07:01Look at this sense, this detail.
01:07:10At this little tarp that came loose.
01:07:13So you get a little pixie in here.
01:07:17I'm not even supposed to be here, but...
01:07:22Oh, there's a whole bunch of geese flying overhead.
01:07:24They're probably heading to the south.
01:07:26Because the geese where I live, they head to Africa in winter.
01:07:33A beautiful viewing section here.
01:07:36And then you get this tunnel.
01:07:45Very common zoo thing as well, actually.
01:07:47These tunnels with signs on the side.
01:07:50Where is the great horned owl?
01:07:54It should be here.
01:07:55There we go.
01:07:58Don't want to miss this cute little aviary once again.
01:08:03Guys, I'm gonna zoom out.
01:08:04And now I'll give you the bird's eye view of this zoo.
01:08:09I have to say, it was a lot of fun visiting this zoo.
01:08:14It's small, but it's amazing.
01:08:16It has this really like...
01:08:18How would I say it?
01:08:20There's this through line in architecture that's kept intact from start to finish.
01:08:25There was definitely a plan to have these kinds of roofs, these kinds of colors
01:08:32throughout the whole zoo.
01:08:33So it really all works together as one cohesive place.
01:08:42And I'm very impressed.
01:08:43I'm also impressed with the color scheme that's going on.
01:08:46I'm impressed with the detail that just feels natural.
01:08:52The educational value of everything.
01:08:54This was absolutely a great time to visit.
01:08:57I hope I did it justice.
01:08:59I hope I didn't miss anything obvious.
01:09:02Guys, go check out...
01:09:04You gotta check out three things for me, right?
01:09:07First of all, that's a free thing.
01:09:10You can always subscribe and like this video.
01:09:13If you want to see more planned zoo content or zoo tours like this.
01:09:17But go check out Sparrow's channel.
01:09:19They are not only a great builder, but also a great YouTuber.
01:09:22They make well-edited videos with storylines and everything.
01:09:26Go check out this zoo on the workshop and go check out Sparrow's list of workshop items
01:09:34that she's put together for all of the things in here that were not built by her herself.
01:09:41A little look here at the backstage.
01:09:43There is a lot to see that you don't get to see as guests.
01:09:47There is a lot to see as guests with even indoor.
01:09:51I'm actually very glad I visited this.
01:09:54You get this storage section where trucks can deliver things.
01:09:59You even get this quarantine zone for an animal when it arrives.
01:10:05It can stay in here.
01:10:07And I think there's even another backstage section here.
01:10:10Yes, it is.
01:10:12With even more of these like quarantine zones, which I assume that's what we're looking at.
01:10:18Where animals that perhaps are freshly arrived to the zoo can be kept or
01:10:27perhaps if they're sick or something you have to revalidate.
01:10:31And you get this greenhouse section where probably a lot of the plants and food is grown
01:10:36for the animals.
01:10:38And you even get this staircase up the roof here.
01:10:43Solar panels, skylights.
01:10:46You get this parking lot here.
01:10:49One fun little detail is this really cool car here that's speeding out of the parking lot.
01:10:57It's blowing smoke and leaving a trail behind.
01:11:02That's such a funny little thing.
01:11:05But I think we have seen True North Sanctuary now.
01:11:10Except for perhaps this little building here where the cars are parked.
01:11:16It was amazing to visit and I will absolutely go check out the
01:11:22tour that Sparrow did herself for this zoo to see if there's anything important that I missed.
01:11:27Thank you guys so much for watching.
01:11:29You'll see another zoo tour from me soon and you'll see another Bolo Bolo video from me soon.
01:11:34See ya!
01:11:37Actually guys, no that's not it.
01:11:40This is something that I could not, that I almost forgot to show you.
01:11:44I forgot about it and I was reminded.
01:11:46Behind the admissions counter there is a teal block here.
01:11:51And if you drag it up to here-ish the whole zoo becomes, well as you can see, Christmas-fied.
01:12:02And I absolutely could not let you not see this.
01:12:07This is so much fun and the amount of work that has gone into making this zoo Christmas themed and
01:12:15then hiding it all in one group and then grouping it together is ridiculous.
01:12:20But visiting this zoo at night with these Christmas decorations enabled adds a whole new layer to it.
01:12:28And we're not gonna do the tour again of course, we're just gonna zoom through it.
01:12:33But everywhere Christmas trees will appear and these very pleasing Christmas lights and colors
01:12:41and stars and everything decoration will appear.
01:12:44And I can just imagine this zoo opening up for a special unique late winter Christmas special.
01:12:54And yeah, it is such a cute little touch, absolutely, absolutely something I had to show you guys.
01:13:02Because it's everywhere, all of the wonderful decorations.
01:13:08And it's such a vibe and showing this to you at night, I should have shown this to you in the dark.
01:13:14But yeah, the Christmas spirit is absolutely present in this zoo, so go check it out.
01:13:21I'm skipping over details, I'm absolutely sure of it, but this is absolutely fantastic.
01:13:28And not something I've seen before, someone hiding all of this Christmas stuff in one single group,
01:13:34which nearly crashed the computer by the way, but great touch, completely took me off guard.
01:13:45But yeah, fantastic little moment.
01:13:48This zoo is so well lit and absolutely worth it visiting in the dark.
01:13:53So this time around guys, I'm truly saying farewell.
01:13:57But again, I heartily recommend you to check out this zoo yourself,
01:14:02because the work that has gone into this, it needs to be rewarded by lots of views and dialogues.
01:14:09All right, see ya!
