00:00The All-Ireland Championship, the very pinnacle of our Gaelic Games, and winning one is the dream of every player.
00:10It's the top of the mountain. If it was easy, everyone would do it.
00:13The expectation of Kenny is to win the All-Ireland and there's nothing else about it.
00:19In Camogie, one team has dominated for the last two years and shows no sign of giving up their title.
00:25And Cork are the All-Ireland Champions again!
00:28Cork have set their sights on a rare three in a row.
00:31Do you ever feel like the room is heavy, like the air is hot and the air is sweaty?
00:36And why the other counties respect them?
00:38They're fast-paced, aggressive, smart hurling.
00:41They're hungry to take their place.
00:43They are a phenomenal team, but they'll be the good.
00:48We're never going to be too far away and we'll always give someone a fair run for their money.
00:55In this series, we follow the teams hunting down Cork's crown to bring a championship back to their county.
01:03How much do you want this?
01:05It'll just mean the world.
01:10I love winning and I absolutely want that at inter-county level.
01:13This is the best bucket time you've ever had.
01:14If we get a performance that we're looking for, no team will be able to beat us.
01:18If we want to win in All-Ireland, we're not going to win it by being nice.
01:21We never give up! We never stop!
01:23We never give up!
01:24We never stop!
01:25Come on!
01:26Come on!
01:27Come on!
01:28Come on!
01:29Come on!
01:30Come on!
01:31Come on!
01:32Come on!
01:34Come on!
01:35Come on!
01:36Come on!
01:37Come on!
01:38Come on!
01:39Here now in Croke Park on All-Ireland, Camogie Finals, day 2024.
01:41In last year's Camogie Final, Galway played against Champions Cork and it was neck and neck until just a few minutes from the end.
01:48just a few minutes from the end.
02:12We were so close and the All-Ireland was in hand's reach.
02:15You're devastated.
02:17I found that final loss now really, really tough to be honest to take.
02:20I suppose maybe as I get older,
02:22I'm not sure if those chances are going to come around
02:24as often maybe as they did.
02:26Fourth, two in a row.
02:28Fourth, 30th All-Ireland Championship title.
02:32What we want is to be a generational team.
02:34What hasn't been done is the three in a row
02:36and maybe it's a bit too early to start talking about that.
02:38We'll enjoy the winter and we'll enjoy the celebrations,
02:40but like, God, it's just amazing.
02:44It was the worst dressing room I've been in.
02:46It's awful.
02:48It's not a nice place to be.
02:50It's definitely something I store it.
02:53You always have next year.
02:55For this year's remaining teams in the Championship,
03:02any thoughts of taking Cork's crown must wait for several weeks.
03:06And there are still plenty of hurdles yet to cross.
03:09As the group stages come towards their conclusion,
03:12last year's finalists Galway are about to take on unbeaten Waterford
03:16and the winner will go straight to the semi-finals.
03:19You top the group, you get four weeks off, and if you don't,
03:25you're in the quarter final the following week.
03:31Leading up to the Galway game, you know, you're very happy.
03:33We are a top team.
03:35Waterford have never won an All-Island Senior Camogie title,
03:39and beating Galway would be a huge step towards that goal.
03:43Everyone in the country thinks that Galway and Cork
03:46are going to be in the All-Island final.
03:47If they want to put the rest of them up there on the mantle,
03:49that's grand, but it's up to us now to try and reach that bar,
03:52you know?
03:53Come on, come on, let's go, come on.
03:55Excellent, we're done, keep watching, we're done.
03:57Going into the Galway match, you know,
03:59we had secured our position to get into a quarter final.
04:02There was no shackles on us.
04:10Ball alley, I suppose, is all kind of hand-eye coordination.
04:13I play corner back.
04:14If I miss the first ball, I miss my first touch,
04:17the odds out the corner forward is going to get it.
04:20I'll be behind her, and she'll be one-on-one with the goalie.
04:23It's really a lot of my game is prevention, stop them.
04:27Stop them.
04:30Putting on the jersey is an honour, I suppose.
04:32Knowing you're a role model then as well for younger girls,
04:35especially for Camogie, it's definitely up and coming.
04:43Welcome here to Kenny Park in Nottingham,
04:45and it's Galway against Waterford in the final round
04:47of the group stages of the All-Ireland Senior Camogie.
04:49The minute we came back last year, it was,
04:52OK, we've got to get back to Crowe Park,
04:54and we've got to fix last year's All-Ireland final.
04:56You have a lot of hurt, you have frustration, you have anger.
04:59You're eager to, I suppose, rectify the wrongs of last year.
05:03Who will top this group and go straight through
05:05to an All-Ireland semi-final?
05:07Whoever loses will be in Crowe Park next week for a quarter-final.
05:10When you get two or three group games and you're winning the group games,
05:13vibes are good.
05:14Energy level is good.
05:15Any time you go up to Galway, it's always going to be difficult.
05:27We were under no illusion what Galway were going to bring.
05:33People might have thought that we were favourites through that game,
05:35but that was never in our heads.
05:38And we know on a given day any Camogie team can beat anyone.
05:41You could play Waterford three or four times in a month,
05:43and you could have a different result every time.
05:45And they have some serious talents.
05:49Galway have this aura about them,
05:51that their servers and Cork are way above everyone.
05:54Today is the DNO, lads, to change that.
05:57This is a massive opportunity, lads. Do not let it pass.
06:00Galway are a very physical team.
06:03Yeah, it was physical, it was a close game.
06:08Come on, get there, Ola!
06:10They were going after the game as much as we were.
06:12Come on, get the blocking, Ola!
06:14You have to fall in here!
06:15Waterford applying the pressure.
06:17Well done, Annie!
06:18We were really up for it, you know.
06:20We really did think we could beat him.
06:22Eve Rockett upside the 45-meter line.
06:26It was it for Tash.
06:28Carrie Dolan with the shot.
06:30The 45 goes over the bar.
06:34The referee blows the halftime whistle.
06:36It's all square, seven each between the teams.
06:39The second half is underway.
06:42Galway and Waterford,
06:43and Waterford match each other tackle for tackle.
06:46Block for block.
06:47Point for point.
06:49With four minutes remaining,
06:50the scores are level.
06:52And Carrie Dolan with the shot.
06:54And Carrie Dolan puts the ball over the bar.
06:5612 of 11 to Galway.
06:57Carrie Dolan, two minutes to go.
06:59It's just inside.
07:00Only on their way to an All-Ireland semi-final.
07:02And the referee blows the final whistle.
07:03Finish Galway 17 points.
07:04Waterford 11.
07:05Galway are through to the semi-finals.
07:06But Waterford are still in the championship.
07:07They'll be in Croke Park next week for a quarter-final.
07:08They got the win.
07:09Unfortunately, we didn't.
07:10And we had to play a quarter.
07:11Just like the Hurling and football championships,
07:13the Camogie has reached the knockout stages.
07:15Cork and Galway qualified straight to the semi-finals.
07:17With Kilkenny, Tip Clare and Waterford left to fight out the quarters.
07:21This is the knockout stages.
07:22This is where we want to be.
07:23Lose the game.
07:24Your season with Kilkenny is over.
07:25Like, there is a huge amount at stake.
07:26On Sunday, GIA headquarters will belong to the people of Tipperary and Kilkenny.
07:28With a double bill of Camogie quarter-final.
07:29They got to win.
07:30They got to win.
07:31Unfortunately, we didn't.
07:32And we had to play a quarter.
07:33Just like the Hurling and football championships,
07:34the Camogie has reached the knockout stages.
07:35Cork and Galway qualified straight to the semi-finals.
07:36With Kilkenny, Tip Clare and Waterford left to fight out the quarters.
07:38This is the knockout stages.
07:39This is where we want to be.
07:40Lose the game.
07:41Your season with Kilkenny is over.
07:43There is a huge amount at stake.
07:45On Sunday, GIA headquarters will belong to the people of Tipperary and Kilkenny.
07:49With a double bill of Camogie quarter-finals and Hurling semi-finals involving both counties.
07:58When I was younger, I used to get so sickly nervous before matches.
08:04In my final year in college, I did my yoga teacher training.
08:09And ever since then, I've been able to be far more relaxed in the build-up to matches.
08:15But we played in Crowe Park five or six times.
08:18I know we only played one final there, but we played there.
08:21And everyone in work is like, as well, like,
08:23oh, yeah, should the lads play it after?
08:26Like, as if we're irrelevant.
08:28Yeah.
08:29It's on a separate day, separate venue.
08:31I know.
08:32Now, in fairness, at the beginning of the week,
08:33I was only kind of seeing stuff about, like,
08:35support the Tip team and all that stuff.
08:37Yeah.
08:38A lot of stuff has...
08:39Went to plural.
08:40Yeah, they've been talking about boat.
08:41Like, even organizing buses,
08:43and they're allowing them time to get to our match, like.
08:45Oh, good.
08:46So, in fairness, that's great, like.
08:49I know.
08:52I know Claude Inside Out.
08:53We spend a lot of her free time together.
08:54We train however many times a week together,
08:56and we do extra training together,
08:57and we socialize together.
08:58She's brilliant.
08:59We call her sunshine yellow.
09:01Like, wherever she goes, she lights up the room.
09:03Like, she's so positive.
09:04She's so happy.
09:05You know, she has a great outlook on life.
09:07Yeah, over the years, myself and Grace
09:10have become great pals.
09:12She is incredibly driven.
09:14You know, I've really turned and leaned into Grace
09:17over the last few years for her to, you know,
09:20give me constructive criticism and feedback.
09:23I can trust her with anything.
09:26That's the type of people that you want to be playing with.
09:29Someone who, you know, wants the best out of themselves,
09:32but wants the best out of you.
09:33And very lucky that she's on my side of the team.
09:38And we'll change it in a few minutes.
09:41Everywhere you went to Kilkenny,
09:56people weren't just talking about the hurling.
09:57They were talking about the camogie.
09:59If you play Kilkenny, you're expected to do really well.
10:03And we expect ourselves to do really well.
10:05well. We trained really, really hard the two weeks leading up to that match and we had
10:12a plan in place. That was excellent. One of the best games we've played in training this
10:21year. Back yourself to shoot one. The option of going long is very hard for tipped out.
10:27If we play space up front and all our forwards drop, it's very hard to defend that. So let's
10:32be positive all week now. And just go and fucking have a go on Sunday, okay?
10:36Yeah. All right, guys. Good stuff.
10:47And a very good afternoon, everybody. Welcome along here to Croke Park where the sun is trying
10:53to break through, but we're looking forward to an absolute cracker between Kilkenny and
10:57Tipperary. The fact it was a doubleheader with Tip and Kilkenny hurlers, it was a massive
11:02occasion. I nearly do the walk just because everyone else is doing it. I would be going
11:08mad if I sat inside the dressing room. You know, I like a little bit of crack, but not
11:12too much. So I know who to hover around and who to avoid. Clodagh Mac is one of them. Avoid,
11:19avoid. I don't know if this is going to be my last time playing in Croke Park. You never
11:25know the last time you'll run out in Croke Park or represent Kilkenny.
11:29There won't be any love lost between these two sides. We're looking forward to our cracking
11:43in. Absolutely. And look, I think Tip will be slight favorites today. We are massive underdogs
11:48coming in. But I did have a great belief. Katie is named at full forward. Look, she's the leader.
11:53She's the captain. Probably in the best condition of her life. And that's one out in front by
11:57Katie Power. Turns and strikes that one in. And that's the danger of Katie Power. Katie Power
12:02is a phenomenal cogey player. They set up with a sweeper that cut off the ball that we were
12:07getting inside. Maria Brennan picked up that ball as the sweeper is working. It's allowing
12:11Katie to get on the ball.
12:12Katie Power.
12:16Katie Power.
12:17Katie Power.
12:19Katie Power.
12:20Katie Power.
12:21Katie Power.
12:22Katie Power.
12:23Katie Power.
12:24Katie Power.
12:25Oh, that's a yellow camp.
12:26Katie Power.
12:27All right.
12:28Katie Power.
12:29All right.
12:30There's lots of stages of the game that you'll just be standing there, feeling a bit
12:31useless sometimes. Especially when the ball goes over your head like four times in a row.
12:34That'll be a super score. That is a super score.
12:37We probably gave one of our worst halves a camogie, so we came in at half-time furious.
12:48Now beginning to swell now, ahead of the game at four o'clock.
12:56Kenney's work rate has been so impressive.
12:58They seem a little bit more up for today, so the challenge now is for Tipperary.
13:03Line caught inside towards the 21, Katie Powell.
13:06Four points for her in the game so far.
13:08Plays the ball inside now, and that is David Caramarta, who's peeled away from everybody.
13:12Suddenly it was just wide open.
13:14This is a goal, like it has to be a goal.
13:17Here's an opportunity for a goal. Chance, brilliant block.
13:20What a block across there.
13:22Maureen Everston, absolutely incredible to snuff out the attack.
13:26God, it was just the ultimate fear there.
13:27Jeez, that was inspiring.
13:31I suppose that was probably the first time the tip crowd had the chance to get going.
13:34You could hear the roars. You kind of got an energy from that.
13:47And Tipperary do take the lead for the first time.
13:51Jordan McIntyre is making her way off.
13:54Obviously, you don't want to be the player taking off, but you'd be well aware of how are you impacting on the game.
14:02Cuiva McCarthy.
14:03That a third point. Yes, it is.
14:06And Tipperary have a two-point lead.
14:08We lost our way a little bit in the second half.
14:10I was just extremely proud of the girls, the way they, you know, went about their business.
14:14It's Laura Murphy. Four points in the opening half.
14:17And we are level in stoppage time.
14:20Leitrava and Croke Power.
14:25We had the chances to win in normal time and we didn't take them.
14:29And Kenny took theirs.
14:31So, I brought extra time.
14:37And welcome back to Croke Power for the first period of extra time.
14:41Lucy, take a breather. Okay, Claude and Mac is coming back in.
14:44The management trusted me enough to bring me back on.
14:47We have ten big minutes now. Okay, ready to go.
14:50I'm going to prove it now and make sure that I have a greater impact on the game.
14:56An opportunity here for Kilkenny to have gotten the first three scores inside the opening.
15:01Four minutes of extra time.
15:03Eva Prendergast high into the sky and right between the uprights.
15:06The first five minutes of that first half, like, we were motoring, like.
15:11Dangerous ball dropping inside.
15:13Is it in?
15:15I was literally running back to my position and I didn't really see anyone else running around.
15:19So, I was like, oh.
15:20The referee had blown the whistle before the ball went into the net.
15:24Yeah, I looked up and I saw his arms out.
15:26Kilkenny probably feel very aggrieved that the whistle was blown.
15:30It's a penalty.
15:31And, well, this could be a big moment in the game.
15:34It's Eva Prendergast to take the penalty up against Laura Linan.
15:38A goal could be absolutely crucial in this game.
15:42You have a spot that you're going to pick and you have to stick with it.
15:46It's hard because you just know it's completely out of your control.
15:48So, you're just kind of praying.
15:50As Prendergast lines this one up from the 21.
15:53Oh, picks it, strikes it.
15:56Goalkeeper makes the save.
15:59They're deflated in that moment when you see the ball coming back.
16:03Oh, well, that could be a huge, huge moment now.
16:07Laura is an incredible shot stopper.
16:09She has no fear.
16:11She doesn't let big moments get to her.
16:14You take the bruise over the goal, I think, any day.
16:17But it's a bit of a relief now, I won't lie.
16:19Rushing on to it here, trying to win it.
16:21It's Claude McIntyre.
16:22She has it, McIntyre.
16:23Heading towards goal.
16:24Here's an opportunity.
16:25McIntyre.
16:26Oh, what a goal.
16:27What a super finish.
16:29I just remember the, like, insane cheer.
16:33She picked up possession of it.
16:35Ran on to the 13.
16:36And when you need a finish, what about that?
16:39Master stroke from Dennis Kelly to bring her back on.
16:41It was phenomenal.
16:42It was a rocket.
16:44She was the right person to get the ball in that instance.
16:46And for Tipperary, we were very, very lucky that she did.
16:48There you see Tammy Shefflin just trying to motivate his team.
16:52So there's the change for Kilkenny.
16:54And it's Katie Power is the player coming off.
16:57The captain.
16:57Personally, I had nothing else to give.
17:01Like, my legs were gone.
17:04For me, that day, walking off the field, like, you'd be looking up in the stands because you know your family is there.
17:11You'd be saying, is that the last day you'd wear the jersey?
17:41What is he like?
17:49That's obviously extremely, you know, sad for me to be thinking about that too, so.
18:05In the other quarterfinal, Waterford are up against Outsiders Claire.
18:11We had a job to do, and it was do or die.
18:14If we lose, we're going home.
18:16And we know Claire are not an easy team to beat.
18:19Keep working.
18:21Man, Vicky.
18:22New ball, it's in there.
18:23New ball, let's go.
18:24Our team is growing, we're progressing, we're becoming stronger.
18:28That's it, it's pace.
18:29In, straight away, pace.
18:31In, it pace, no, in, it pace.
18:32I'm telling you now, but we've had my ambitions, I've been in the final, semi-final, they shouldn't be in our way.
18:40It's July, it's the first weekend of July.
18:42Do not be out of the championship the first weekend of July.
18:43Last year, I decided to move to Canada, and then I got the news that my dad was really sick.
19:11So I made the decision to come home.
19:13I'm glad I did.
19:16He just wasn't well.
19:17We thought it was a vomiting bug, and then it was, and it kept going, and it turned out to be cancer.
19:22Yeah, so it was a huge shock.
19:23Because I've been sick, it must have been there, shouting on the team.
19:28It's not the same watching the television.
19:30You're missing, I think you're missing at least 60% of it.
19:33They've got Clare coming up now, and this is a do-or-die game.
19:39For a parent, or even a supporter, you're mighty proud going to see him go to a quarter-final.
19:46My encouragement to all and the rest of them is go out, leave everything on the field, leave your blood, sweat, and tears on the field.
19:52Give it all.
19:53If you make a mistake, you make a mistake, but give it all you have.
19:56That's all you can do.
19:57Give it all you have.
19:58Okay, we're going to Cro-Park today for the quarter-final.
20:09Like, Mom and Dad made a weekend of it.
20:19Definitely motivates me, and it has.
20:21More so this year than any other year.
20:24To try and do well for the team, and also for them as well.
20:27Right, let's do it for them.
20:30Roshi Begley, playing in there towards Sonia Lachlan.
20:35What a start this is.
20:36Clare back in front again.
20:38What a rocket of a shot to know.
20:39Are you going to be disappointed?
20:42The first goal was a bit unfortunate, because it came off my cornerback's back.
20:46Deflected in.
20:49We wouldn't really panic too much.
20:51You kind of have to just forget about it, and drive on.
20:54Back inside to the goal scorer.
20:56On your Lachlan.
20:56There's another one for the tanking.
20:58What a turn-up this is.
21:00Could a big surprise be on here at Croke Park?
21:04When the second goal went in, it was like, oh crap.
21:07Keep working.
21:08Two goals, it's six points.
21:11It's a big score to try and get back.
21:15We just had to go out and back ourselves.
21:17Either pick it up a year, or you're going home.
21:19Nanny Fitzgerald has got Waterford's first goal of the game.
21:24Near Rocket.
21:26Slipping it out to the right-hand side.
21:27Taking it back.
21:28Rocket with difficulty.
21:29What was it?
21:30Thrown.
21:30It's in the back of the net.
21:34It was nowhere near comfortable, because we weren't comfortable at all.
21:37There goes the final whistle from referee Liz Dempsey.
21:40So in the end, Waterford got the job done.
21:43But it wasn't that easy.
21:45Getting to non-Ireland's semi-final is great.
21:47It was special, you know.
21:50It's a special moment sitting in Croke Park, and you know your parents are there, sitting watching you.
21:56Welcome to the draw for the All-Ireland Senior Camogie semi-finals.
21:59First stage, we have Cork.
22:01Now, who did Cork play?
22:02Waterford.
22:03Remember, Waterford lost to Cork in the All-Ireland final two years ago, and it's going to be?
22:07Galway.
22:08Galway playing?
22:09Tipperary.
22:10Good to see you again.
22:11How does he meet?
22:12Glad to meet you.
22:12I'll do my best.
22:14How do you feel about doing stuff like this?
22:15I hate them.
22:17You hate it?
22:17Yeah.
22:18I'm just going to stand here and work around you.
22:20Stay there now.
22:21Why don't you like it, do you think?
22:23I don't know.
22:23I just don't.
22:24I prefer to just play a really tough encounter here last year against Tip when he got over
22:28them by a point in the end, so.
22:31Well do me, Carrie.
22:32Well done.
22:32Good stuff.
22:33Harmless.
22:34Very harmless, yeah.
22:35Easiest one of today.
22:36See, we know each other now at this tip.
22:38Yeah, yeah.
22:38Awesome.
22:39Brilliant.
22:39These things are quite enjoyable, and I think it kind of shows probably a little bit of
22:43friendship that's, you know, amongst the enemies as well.
22:48How are you feeling yourself physically?
22:50Good.
22:52They won't see this till after actually I'm in agony.
22:55No.
22:55Cork have joined us one second there.
23:01Talk to me about the Cork team 20-25, because is there pressure on in the sense you're going
23:05for three in a row?
23:07Yeah, I suppose there's always pressure.
23:09Being from Cork, people expect you to win.
23:12I've never done, like, a launch thing before, but grand, yeah.
23:16I'm repeating myself quite a bit, and my cheeks are shaking from smiling, but it's interesting.
23:22This is the toughest, I would imagine, of the two semifinals.
23:26They're fantastic girls.
23:27Everyone's put their foot to the wheel, and we're just ready and ready for a fight now.
23:32Got a little bit nervous, I'm not going to lie, coming out of the car, but I think
23:36it's just the thought of probably meeting everyone.
23:39Thanks very much.
23:40Hopefully we'll be doing another one.
23:41But no, everyone makes you feel at ease then when you're actually in here.
23:43It's just the thoughts of it more than anything.
23:45You wanted coaching from me, hello.
23:47It's the other way around.
23:48Was that from the quarterfinal in the Warriors?
23:50No, Charles, I'm trying to.
23:52Brilliant.
23:52Well, have a dry breath.
23:55You should take your own.
23:58The prize is massive.
24:00It's a place in the senior camogie final in Cork Park on the 10th of August.
24:06And your goal is all over the place.
24:35All over the place.
24:37Were you saying it was a fluke?
24:39No, the mileage I'll get out of that for the next six months.
24:44Galway now.
24:45Galway now, I know.
24:46We owe them one from last year.
24:49Like, you'd have a bit more fire in the belly thinking about last year
24:53and how we were literally in charge the whole way until the last, like, five minutes, probably, wasn't it?
25:01Yeah.
25:01And then the wheels came off.
25:03And last Sunday's game will stand to you because you dug it out when things weren't looking great.
25:08Here's an opportunity.
25:10McIntyre!
25:10Oh, what a goal!
25:12Yeah, and he took it nicely, though.
25:13The little dummy with the head.
25:15That's what you'd do on.
25:17Yeah, I'd make.
25:18Yeah, I taught you that.
25:20It's not too often, though, someone comes back on and actually does something.
25:23Really, you know, they're playing bad, and that's it.
25:26Not that you were playing that bad.
25:28Shut up.
25:29I believe this year, Tipper, you're going to do it, and you can mark my words here now.
25:36I have a good feeling this year.
25:51TIP have been building for the past few years.
25:54They've lost six semifinals in seven seasons.
25:56They'll feel their time is now.
25:58In the calendar year, we had beaten them twice.
26:01It is a goal here, and she's beautifully put it in.
26:05And Tipperary are the National League champions for the third time.
26:08Tipper, an unbelievable team.
26:09We've played them in the league the last couple of years, and they've got the better of us.
26:13And numerous times probably should have beaten us in the semifinal last year.
26:17They don't fear us and every right, I guess.
26:22Call the numbers outside.
26:24Take it on, run, right.
26:25Good, good, run.
26:26Oh, it's been paced, good.
26:27The last two years have been absolutely devastating.
26:32Having lost to Galway last year, you know, this is kind of a perfect opportunity for a little bit of revenge, you know, to use that hurt as well.
26:39Tipperary and ourselves, I suppose, have built up a really, really big rivalry over the last two or three years, you know, that turned us over a few times.
26:58You know yourselves, competition for places, you know, it's going to be huge over the next four weeks.
27:03Okay?
27:04Huge.
27:05We were probably focused on either getting your jersey or trying to hold on to the jersey, making sure you're on the starting 15.
27:12I might not have the pace I had when I started 13 years ago, but I'm just thankful that Cahill, I suppose, had trust in me to give me another year.
27:18Leading into the semifinal, training was tough.
27:23Quick, cans, we're on, we're on, we're on, we're on, we're on, we're on, we're on, we're on, we're on, we're on.
27:30That's it, step to the ball, drive it on, yes, good, good, good.
27:34Oh, this is a massive test for us.
27:36When tip, tip, tip comes out in the stands,
27:39we're fighting that straight ahead.
27:41Every fucking temporary player now,
27:43when she gets the fucking ball,
27:45they sit like that.
27:54For the last three years,
27:55our All-Owns semi-final has been in Kilkenny.
27:58At roundabout, coming into Kilkenny,
28:00there's like a statue of bluebells,
28:02and the first year going to our semi-final,
28:05Grace told us in the car
28:07that her mom wanted to call her Daisy Bluebell
28:10and that her mom would be so thrilled
28:12if we stopped the roundabout to get a photo of it.
28:15But every year on the way back,
28:17we're always so depressed and sad
28:19that we've never gotten the photos.
28:25After a season of ups and downs,
28:26we've reached the semi-finals
28:27of the All-Ireland Camogie Championship.
28:29Tip, they need to win today
28:31if they need to make progress.
28:32They've lost six semi-finals since 2018.
28:35Losing six semi-finals in seven years,
28:37psychologically can be very, very tough to take.
28:40We had great confidence, I think, coming into it.
28:42We knew we were capable of beating Galway.
28:44We believed we were capable of beating Galway.
28:46Everything, ball by ball,
28:48every single thing, every challenge,
28:50we drive it for each other.
28:51You drive it for that jersey.
28:52You drive it for the girl inside.
28:54Today we've made that promise, girls.
29:04I've never played with that much tippy people in a stadium.
29:07That was massive.
29:08It actually meant the world to us.
29:09I'm sure we're going to hear tip, tip, tip a lot,
29:11but it's up to us to try and quite the crowd now.
29:21The semi-finals are there to be won,
29:22but it doesn't always work out that way.
29:24Once again, it's collected there by Guivamar.
29:26Gives it to Grace,
29:27so drive for De Ferreri that it'll block on it.
29:30Galway brought a serious intensity.
29:34You know, you didn't even know there was Galway girls there.
29:36They were just swarming.
29:39It can be hurt hits.
29:41It can be getting hands-on.
29:42It can be tracking the runs.
29:43It's taken away by Derville Higgins from Anthony Rye.
29:46It can be dispossessions.
29:48They just came with an energy that we couldn't handle.
29:51Maureen Everston is from centre half back.
29:54Hooped initially.
29:55Now she has to go again against Maureen Dillard.
29:57Like, they were hunting in packs.
29:58You know, I remember at times coming out with the ball
30:00and there'd be three of them around you.
30:02Snatched up there by Eilish O'Reilly.
30:04Galway are really up for this year's field.
30:06And now it's five points to two.
30:09We started to really get in the groove.
30:11Eilish O'Reilly has started so well.
30:13A really impressive start from Galway.
30:15Even though we weren't doing overly poor,
30:16we weren't actually performing.
30:18You need a break in play.
30:19You need a big hit.
30:20You need something massive to shift that momentum.
30:23And now Dennis Kelly has got a real problem
30:25because his full-back is down injured
30:28and they could ill afford to be without Karine Blair.
30:31Karine went down and we were all a little bit concerned for her.
30:35You know, she seems in a lot of pain then
30:37and obviously a hugely important player for Tip.
30:40Then we were like,
30:41look, we'll go out and we'll do this for Karine,
30:43but still Galway were just,
30:44they were coming at us in spades.
30:46And now six points between them.
30:48We need to come to grips with this game
30:50and, you know, really get it under control.
30:52It's Karine Kennedy.
30:53They need her leadership.
30:54They need her scoring ability.
30:55He's got a goal.
31:00That's exactly what they needed.
31:02That goal definitely gave Tip a boost
31:04and gave them energy.
31:05And you can nearly feel the confidence
31:07and the excitement coming back into the Tip players.
31:09Half-time may be going to come too soon for them now.
31:11This free to be taken once again
31:15by the Nina-era old player.
31:17And once again, she delivers.
31:19The teams are level for the second time.
31:22It's been a very, very eventful first half.
31:24The referee's calling for the ball.
31:26There is half-time.
31:27And one stage in the game.
31:29Galway were absolutely dominating this match.
31:32By eight points to two they led.
31:34And then Karine Kennedy got a goal.
31:36And the team's going in level.
31:37So there was a huge feeling then that,
31:39OK, right, we've played terrible.
31:41And we're still drawn.
31:42The crowd is there.
31:43We just need to get a bit of a momentum start
31:45in the second half.
31:46And at that stage, the game can go any way.
32:01Their goal was against the run of play.
32:03And you have to come back and put that right.
32:05Four points in the first half for Carey Dolan.
32:07Looking for a bright start to the second half.
32:10And that one has gone over the bar.
32:13Good start for Galway.
32:14Real intense contest by Galway and by Tipperary.
32:17And you'd expect nothing less.
32:19There's a real niggle in this game now.
32:21We just, whatever it was, we couldn't get going.
32:23It's Grace O'Brien blocked down again.
32:26I feel like they were striking balls
32:27and they were flying over the bar
32:28and we were getting blocked down, hooked.
32:33The second half, we had very little to respond with.
32:36Fuck out down through the centre.
32:38Maureen Devaston got a stick to it
32:39but batted it down inadvertently to Ailish O'Reilly
32:42who set it up here for Niamh Malin.
32:44A goal chance.
32:45A goal taken.
32:46And Galway get their first goal of the game.
32:52The referee calling for the ball.
32:55It's all over.
32:56And this first Glenn Dimplek semi-final
32:59has been won convincingly by Galway.
33:02They won it by seven points in the end.
33:05And Cahill Murray will be leading his team in Croke Park
33:08yet again.
33:12We are back in the All-Ireland Final
33:13where we set out the start of the year to get a,
33:15you know, that's number one, get to the final.
33:17Number two, go and win it.
33:18Plenty to work on, but they look a team
33:21that don't want to lose another final.
33:23What does it mean to be back in Croke Park now
33:25on August the 10th?
33:26Well, look, it's where we were last year
33:28and where we were bet.
33:29It's where you want to get back to again
33:30and we won't make the same mistake twice.
33:32The last two years haven't been bet by point.
33:36In probably games we should have won.
33:38This year it was a different kind of a disappointment.
33:42It's the semi-final heartbreak, Dennis.
33:45I think everyone's heartbroken for you at this stage
33:47with the moment that you've lost over the last few years.
33:49That semi-final hard.
33:52Like, I do believe we have a team
33:54that come in in All-Ireland 100%.
33:56They're very, very hard things to win.
33:58It's the top of the mountain.
34:00If it was easy, everyone would do it.
34:02Someday we'll get the photo from Grace's man
34:04and she'll be thrilled
34:06and it will be a very joyous occasion.
34:09I know it will come.
34:11We didn't get it this year.
34:12No, we didn't get it this year.
34:21Galway have booked their place in the All-Ireland Final.
34:25And in the other semi-final, Cork play Waterford
34:28to see who will join them.
34:30Back in 2023, these two teams contested the final
34:35and it was a comprehensive win for Cork.
34:37Waterford-Cork got our final two years ago.
34:39Waterford would be looking to avenge that.
34:41As soon as the draw came out, no one gave us a chance.
34:44We were written off Cork during the All-Ireland Final.
34:47Cork have won it.
34:48They're going to get three in a row.
34:49Waterford, let's be honest, through the short straw.
34:51Cork trying to make it back to yet another All-Ireland Final.
34:56And they're going for what would be a fifth successive appearance
35:00in the decider and a third All-Ireland in a row.
35:03Cork huge favourites coming in.
35:05They are a phenomenal team, but I also think they are beatable.
35:10Waterford coming into this as real underdogs.
35:12Do you give them any sort of chance heading in?
35:14Yeah, look, it's real David and Goliath, I suppose.
35:16They'd always have that bit of nervous going into a semi-final.
35:18If you don't, there's probably something wrong.
35:20So my dad wasn't at the game.
35:23He was like, I'll meet you in Crowe Park for the final.
35:26And this is why you've been training since October or November.
35:29You know, I'm feeling good.
35:31You know, because we believed in ourselves.
35:33Cork pick up possession again.
35:35McCarthy.
35:36I do think one of the strong points is their running game.
35:38Cork in possession.
35:39This would be some score if Saoirse McCarthy gets it.
35:42What about that?
35:44Superb work along the far sideline
35:46and finished it off with a great point.
35:50Back it comes now towards Bess Carton.
35:54Looking for another point here.
35:56I think she likes that one.
35:57Why not?
35:58That one over the bar again.
36:00This is a brilliant start from Waterford.
36:04We started strong.
36:05Our work rate was through the roof.
36:07They'll be pretty pleased with the start that they've made.
36:10Still inside the first eight minutes.
36:12We're trying to counteract Cork's running game
36:14with our own running game.
36:16This might open up as a player on the inside.
36:19They might be in here.
36:20Bess Carton.
36:21Goal shots.
36:22What a world it is.
36:24Well, they were the underdogs coming in,
36:26but they've torn up the script in the early stages.
36:29Cork didn't really play.
36:31I think we stopped them from playing, to be honest.
36:33They didn't get a chance to play.
36:35We knew we could be in the position if we had done what we were asked to do by management,
36:48and we had performed the way we could.
36:50What if we're going to point in front,
36:52and I think, you know, they're valuable with the way that they've played in that first half.
36:55It wasn't a surprise that we were in the position we were.
36:57So it was kind of, you know, get your breath back.
36:59There's still 30 minutes, and it's another go again.
37:02Cork came out and performed very, very well in the second half.
37:17They started to just get the run on us.
37:19Goal chance here for Cork.
37:21Surely they'll get it this time.
37:23And that is that.
37:25Cork heading for another All-Ireland Final appearance.
37:29In the last few minutes, it was like,
37:31okay, like, we know we're not going to win,
37:33but you have to just keep fighting.
37:35There is the full-time whistle.
37:38Cork coming good in the second half to reach another All-Ireland Final.
37:44Their three-in-a-row bid remains on track.
37:46It's finished Cork, 1-21, Waterford, 1-11.
37:53You feel like your whole world is coming down.
37:56You train so long with these girls,
37:59and we're not training next week.
38:06Yeah, quite hard to swallow.
38:11What's wrong, Moira?
38:12I am very sad.
38:14What?
38:15Because we lost.
38:16Cork are the team at the moment that are probably still the team to beat.
38:21They're an absolute machine, a complete different class.
38:24You know, it mightn't have been our most polished performance,
38:26but we still got over the line.
38:27So I suppose a sense of relief.
38:28And now, just, I love this two weeks building up to a final.
38:32There's a huge target on our back, and I know Galway will be hurting a lot from last year.
38:38We know what we're going to get when it comes to Galway.
38:41We're going to get everything, everything that they have.
38:43They're going to throw the kitchen sink at us, and we're prepared for that.
38:45We're not going to fear them.
38:46We're not going to fear them.
38:47Confirm now, All-Ireland Camogie Senior Final, Cork versus Galway, Sunday, 10th of August.
38:52It's a great pleasure and honour to announce the player of the match in the All-Ireland Senior Camogie Final of 2013
38:59is the one and only centre-half back from Galway, Therese Maher.
39:05It's a great pleasure.
39:06It's a great pleasure.
39:07It's a great pleasure.
39:08It's a great pleasure.
39:09It's a great pleasure.
39:10It's a great pleasure, Therese Maher.
39:11It's a great pleasure.
39:12Carly and Camogie is massive in our family.
39:13My auntie is Therese Maher.
39:14Probably the most successful in the family.
39:16Won the All-Ireland 2013, that's the All-Ireland we'd remember when we were growing up.
39:21And you wanted to be just like them.
39:22Carly is the only one that I wanted to be the only one that I wanted to be.
39:31Carrie is the ultimate leader.
39:37She is just so dedicated to this group, this county.
39:41Absolutely brilliant captain for the year.
39:43She's so focused.
39:48You will see her in Claring Bridge, practicing her freeze,
39:52probably most days of the week.
39:58But yeah, she keeps to herself, keeps the head down.
40:00I do, I like to be on my own down here.
40:03That's true.
40:04I just like a goal kind of to myself and to practice away, yeah.
40:11For Galway's Shauna Healy,
40:13this year's final is extra special after some time out from the game.
40:18Billy came into our lives 14 months ago.
40:20The best day of our lives, obviously.
40:22You know, I had to take the year out.
40:24I kind of trained all the way through the pregnancy and whatever,
40:27we were kind of in the hope that I'd have a fairly reasonable time.
40:32Yeah.
40:33Push.
40:34Push.
40:35Good man.
40:37And then I got a phone call from Cahill wondering what was my story.
40:42Go on, push.
40:42So I said, I was game-like.
40:48I play as best I can for him and to make him proud
40:51and he can look back in a couple of years and, you know, think,
40:54God, she was all right.
40:55She wasn't always giving out.
40:57Have you tickies?
40:59Have you tickies?
41:00Yeah.
41:00With the final a few days away,
41:03much of the media focus is on Cork's historic quest.
41:07I suppose you're getting ready for the circus, as we call it, in Galway.
41:12They are going all out for this three in a row.
41:14Three in a row is something that they're focused on.
41:17Maeve, the chances begin to go three in a row.
41:20What would that mean to Cork?
41:21Look, we're just looking at it as another All-Ireland
41:24and getting back to Croke Park
41:25and getting back to an All-Ireland final was the main goal this year.
41:28They haven't won three in a row since 1973,
41:31so that's what we're going for this year.
41:32There was articles and there was a lot of things coming out.
41:35All-Ireland champions, they had done it back to back
41:37and then they had mentioned they wanted to go for the three in a row.
41:39Are you ready?
41:40Yeah.
41:42New ball, yeah?
41:43Go, I love the next ball again.
41:45There you go, there you go, early ball, yeah?
41:47It will come down to the last few minutes of the game, you know?
41:49There will be opportunities there for us
41:51and I suppose can we learn from the lessons from last year
41:54where we didn't take them opportunities?
41:55Gal's been around since 2018.
41:57He has been in the All-Irelands when we've won and we've lost
42:00and you buy into everything, you buy into him,
42:02you buy into the management.
42:04You're representing your county, you're representing your family especially.
42:07We know this group is back 12 months on now
42:10to right the fucking wrongs.
42:12Don't let your dreams be dreams.
42:14Is that okay?
42:15Yes.
42:27You can't be that feeling of pulling into Crow Park.
42:33There's kids and people everywhere.
42:35There's banners.
42:36It's the energy.
42:37Unfortunately, we don't really get the spectators for our sport.
42:40So to play in Crow Park when there's 25,000, 30,000 people, it's special.
42:44There's just something about this Cork set-up.
42:55I think they've kicked on a gear.
42:57They're unbelievable champions.
42:58They do everything really well.
43:00If you switch off, they will punish you.
43:01We all have to go in with the belief that we're going to beat them, that we can beat them.
43:11Justin Heffernan, the referee, gets it underway.
43:14Setting it out as far as Hannah Looney.
43:16Looney goes down.
43:17Referee says play on.
43:20In All-Ireland Finals, you can be nervous and sometimes the games can pass you by.
43:24Under a lot of pressure there from Derbilla Higgins, the cornerback for Galway.
43:28Our whole thing was just work, work, work, controlled aggression and intensity.
43:33A lot of pressure on in there, but they're coping very well.
43:35They go with defence once again.
43:37Coming out with it eventually as Derbilla Higgins.
43:40It was a ferocious start, but it's definitely something that we had planned for.
43:43Trying to cause difficulties there for Shawna Healy, but Healy is a wily campaigner.
43:50So things are going well.
43:51You have momentum.
43:52You're trying to stay focused because it can very, very quickly change.
43:55Inside points, Eddie O'Connor, taken down.
43:59Inside and it must be a penalty, and it is.
44:04The penalty was a massive moment in that first half.
44:08And it's going to be Katrina Mackey who will take it.
44:11In the 10th minute, it's Mackey.
44:14It's saved.
44:15Really good piece of goalkeeping.
44:16Once Sarah Healy saved it though, I was like, okay, this could be our day.
44:20Not too many people, I suppose, score goals against Cork.
44:39Yeah, I mean, it gives you a huge boost of momentum.
44:41Galway in front by 1-3 to 4 points.
44:44And Cahill Murray, I think, very, very pleased in there towards Saoirse McCarthy.
44:50Then goes after it.
44:51Immediately you see three Galway players.
44:53That's the level of intensity that they're bringing to the match today.
44:56And Cork have simply got to match it.
44:59It's an All-Ireland Final day.
45:00There's pressure all over the field.
45:02The referee has indicated that there are going to be two minutes added on.
45:05Over.
45:07There was an incident here.
45:10Hannah Looney is the Cork player involved.
45:13Hannah Looney could be in real difficulty.
45:15And the referee has given her a red card.
45:17It's gone from bad to worse for Cork.
45:20In stoppage time at the end of the first half, Hannah Looney is sent off.
45:25Cork down to 14.
45:26It's probably just a rush of blood just at the head.
45:28It was unlucky.
45:29Cork now plays a huge, huge up his half.
45:31We were up, what was it, five?
45:34Five, I think, at halftime.
45:35Which is a good position to be in an All-Ireland Final.
45:42Galway are flying at the moment.
45:43But can they sustain that level of intensity?
45:46We had played well in the first half.
45:48We were probably happy with the way things were going.
45:50They're down to 14 players.
45:51They probably just have to absolutely go for it.
45:53Saoirse McCarthy takes off.
45:55Looking to try and get away there from the Galway player who's in there.
45:59If you were watching the second half and you didn't know there was a player sent off,
46:02you probably wouldn't even have known.
46:06Cork came back like they always do.
46:09Advantage Galway, four in front.
46:11In there towards Laura Hayes.
46:13And Hayes looks at her handiwork.
46:14And the player of the year last year has done it again.
46:17It was the most rollercoaster of a second half.
46:20They were just putting on a spectacle of camogie that was like no other.
46:23Once again, Saoirse McCarthy trying to make it a three-point game.
46:27Dropping up and over the crossbar.
46:30A fourth for Saoirse McCarthy.
46:33And keeping Cork hopes alive.
46:35They just have players that can kill you in a second.
46:38Heading it to stoppage time.
46:39And Cork with 14.
46:41Have a goal chance.
46:42And get it to Orlaka.
46:43Oh, they're level.
46:47What a goal.
46:50Oh no.
46:51Here we go.
46:52It will be four minutes additional time.
46:54Get the ball.
46:54Get the ball.
46:55Full out of play.
46:56Off Kerry Dolan, I think.
46:57And it's going to be possession for Galway.
46:59A chance for them and for their captain maybe to win the game.
47:02Heraki, Therese Maher, led Galway back in the 90s to victory.
47:09Can she lead Galway to victory this afternoon?
47:13Out in the sideline, 45, 50 yards out.
47:1530,000 people watching you.
47:17Probably the weight of the county on your shoulders.
47:20This is the moment.
47:21If it goes over, this is it like.
47:23I found myself in those situations the last couple of years.
47:26I stood over it like I would and I took it like any other three.
47:29I didn't see it as the winning or losing of a game.
47:34Up into the air, this one goes.
47:36And where's it gone?
47:37It's gone over the bar.
47:38And Galway, oh, in front again.
47:42But does it feel good when it goes over?
47:45Of course it feels good, yeah.
47:47Yeah.
47:47That the referee's whistle will sound now.
47:49And they will be champions for 2025.
47:53What an astonishing end to the match.
47:56Galway have beaten Cork.
47:58Oh my gosh, did that just actually happen?
48:0110, 17, so long, now the Galway's day.
48:06It was amazing.
48:07Break in.
48:08To every young boy and girl out there with a hand in their hands.
48:17Go after your dream.
48:18Today, 39 girls had a dream of winning All-Ireland.
48:23Well, today that dream came true.
48:27Captain Carrie Dillon going out the champions for 2025.
48:31We play because we enjoy camogie.
48:37It's what we're passionate about.
48:38You can't see, you can't be.
48:39If people could see more camogie, I think it could take off.
48:42Inspire the next generation to go and do the same thing.
48:45That's what you're trying to do.
48:46Champions, Jorleone, Jorleone.
48:49Champions, Jorleone, Jorleone.
