00:00Margot Robbie, Emma Stone, Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone, Taraji P. Henson, Cillian Murphy,
00:06Billie Eilish, and more A-list stars hit the red carpet on Thursday at the Palm Springs Film Awards,
00:11marking the first major Hollywood event of the new year.
00:15The Hollywood Reporter spoke to several of the stars in attendance that were being honored.
00:20Murphy, who received the Desert Palm Achievement Award for Best Actor for Oppenheimer,
00:24opened up about the awards season attention the film has received.
00:26It's hugely flattering for us, for the movie, that people have responded like this,
00:31and it's flattering to be considered for all these awards, so we're all thrilled, you know.
00:36And Stone, who received the Desert Palm Achievement Award for Best Actress for Poor Things,
00:41spoke to THR about working on the film as both an actor and producer.
00:44It means so much to be fully immersed in that way, and if you're lucky enough to get to,
00:50as an actor and then as a producer, there's nothing like it.
00:55You kind of only want to do things that way, especially when it's kind of a big swing.
01:00Stone's Poor Things co-stars Willem Dafoe and Mark Ruffalo were also both on hand to present her with the honor.
01:06Ruffalo revealed to THR how he thinks his work on the film will impact his career going forward.
01:10I do feel like it opens up a whole new door, and I want to do more comedy,
01:14and I want people to see me as doing that, and do physical comedy, and to work with auteurs.
01:20I mean, you know, I've been in the Marvel Universe for a long time now,
01:24and people start to think that's maybe who you are as a performer, and I'm just much more than that.
01:31And Eilish and Phineas, who received the Chairman's Award for writing What Was I Made For for Barbie,
01:35spoke about what it's like having other filmmakers reach out to them following the success of the song.
01:40It's just cool. You know, it's so, it's very flattering, and I feel honored every time.
01:46So, um, I don't know, it's, it's, how do you feel about it?
01:50I think we're in a position where, like, we just, you know, it's always an honor,
01:54and then we just try to look at it from a perspective, not of, like, is it good or bad,
01:58but from, like, can we add something to this?
