“Ameer aur Ghareeb Dost” – Story in English (Roman Urdu Style)
Once upon a time, in a busy city, there lived two close friends — Arsalan, who belonged to a rich family, and Bilal, who came from a poor but hardworking home.
Both had been friends since childhood. They went to school together, played together, laughed together, and shared everything. But as they grew older, the difference in their lifestyles became more and more visible.
Arsalan’s life was full of comforts — a car, a big house, expensive clothes. On the other hand, Bilal’s home was struggling — his father was sick, his mother worked in different houses, and Bilal himself did small jobs after school to support the family.
One day, the school announced a trip. The fee was high. Arsalan immediately said, “I’m definitely going! It will be so much fun!”
Bilal stayed quiet.
Arsalan asked, “Aren’t you coming?”
Bilal gave a soft smile and said, “It’s a bit difficult for me…”
For the first time, Arsalan saw sadness in his friend’s eyes. When he reached home, he talked to his father. At first his father was surprised, then he smiled and said:
“Son, a real friend is the one who stands with you in difficult times. If you want, I can pay the fee for both of you.”
The next day Arsalan told Bilal, “Get ready, we’re both going on the school trip!”
Bilal was shocked, but also very happy. “Yaar, I will never forget this help.”
Arsalan put his hand on his friend’s shoulder and said: “There is no counting in friendship.”
After the trip, their friendship became even stronger. Arsalan learned that money isn’t everything, and Bilal realized that true friendship removes all differences.
Time passed… Bilal studied with hard work, got a good job, and his life improved. One day he came to Arsalan and said:
“If you hadn’t supported me that day, I wouldn’t be here today.”
Arsalan smiled and replied: “We become successful when we lift each other up, not when we push each other down.”

Moral (Sabaq):
True friendship doesn’t look at rich or poor.
Helping each other is the real foundation of friendship.
Money doesn’t make a person great — a big heart does.
