Epic's Latest Failure_ GAME BREAKING BUG - Fortnite's Tilted Towers Unplayable
Transcript
00:00Well guys, we are here.
00:18After 8 seasons and weekly updates for over a year, Epic still hasn't managed to fix
00:23their game.
00:24We'll be discussing the recent bug change that has caused chaos all around the Fortnite
00:28community.
00:30It's evident that Epic has made a multitude of mistakes throughout their development
00:33of Fortnite, such as the addition of the boombox or airplane to the game.
00:36But what happened this weekend was, without a doubt, one of the most notable and frustrating
00:41of them all.
00:43This update sent YouTubers like TheOrangeGuy on a frenzy, with tons of new content regarding
00:48underground glitches and broken landing spots all around the map.
00:53On Friday, April 27th at around 1am, the most well-known and popular landing spot in Fortnite,
00:57Tilted Towers had been met with a horrendous glitch that Epic dubbed the Texture Glitch.
01:03Basically, Tilted Towers would not load throughout the entire game, making landing there no longer
01:08a viable option.
01:09If anyone dared to drop Tilted Towers, their game would be ruined.
01:13If players were not aware of this glitch ahead of time, landing in Tilted was basically a
01:17death wish.
01:19Without any texture on the ground, players had difficulty getting out of Tilted Towers after
01:23landing.
01:24But this texture glitch has affected more than the start of a game.
01:27The first issue was the ability to roam around the affected area.
01:31Players were not able to walk around the map like normal, nor were they able to loot the
01:34buildings, or even interact with them.
01:38That included opening doors, chests, or even pickaxing walls.
01:41So that's pretty bad.
01:42But unfortunately, that wasn't all.
01:45You'd like to think that the madness stopped there, however this was not even close to
01:49the next bug that the texture glitch brought with it.
01:53Many players were actually able to phase through the bottom of the map and hide under the floor
01:58of the Fortnite map.
02:00This was done by entering a vehicle and driving into Tilted.
02:03Once this was done, players would be thrown under the map, but not actually eliminated from
02:08the match at all.
02:09Based on the storm pattern of each game, some players were rewarded with easy wins because
02:14others could not find them in the huge mess that was Tilted Towers.
02:18All players would have to do is stay inside of the circle to get an easy guaranteed win,
02:22while the other players had to fight each other and go through much more just to have a chance
02:26at the victory royale.
02:27As bad as this is already, we regret to inform you that it does get worse.
02:32Not only was Tilted affected, but also Retail Row, yes, the two landing spots that are the
02:37most popular amongst all parts of the map in Fortnite.
02:41Despite the two most popular landing spots in Fortnite not functioning correctly, the majority
02:45of the playerbase wasn't even informed of this issue.
02:49Many thought that this glitch was not actually an issue with the game, but an issue with their
02:52platform.
02:54Usually when textures don't load in the beginning of the game, it's simply an indication that
02:57a player's device is wearing out, since it cannot process the textures as quickly as
03:01before.
03:02This fact caused many people to believe that their PCs, consoles, or even mobile phones
03:06were wearing down and needed to be replaced.
03:08God knows how many people have returned their products or even bought new ones during this
03:13time.
03:14Basically, it created mass paranoia in the Fortnite community, but that's not even mentioning the
03:19timing.
03:20The worst part of it all was that it was right before the qualifiers for the Fortnite World
03:24Cup.
03:26This made a ton of people worried about their chances at qualifying to win millions of dollars.
03:32So it added to their questioning of whether their device was capable of loading in textures
03:36during a game, which ultimately resulted in people making hasty generalizations about
03:40their hardware.
03:41This does get worse though, trust me.
03:44Epic also failed to acknowledge this glitch to their playerbase until it was too late.
03:49They only gave out a public announcement of the bug way after it was patched.
03:54Therefore players who were playing during this time had no idea what was happening until they
03:58loaded into Tilted themselves.
04:01Some people saw a tweet or reddit post, but that wasn't efficient enough.
04:05In fact, many players were left in the dark.
04:09Literally.
04:10Taking all this into consideration, we can only conclude that Epic has once again shown us
04:14that they are incapable of doing the right thing.
04:17With a recent nerf to Siphon in Fortnite, a vast majority of the playerbase argued and
04:21complained for the removal of Siphon altogether.
04:24Many large influencers in the Fortnite scene such as Ninja ran polls asking their fanbase what
04:28they thought of the changes, and without surprise, in every poll, the percentage of people who
04:33wanted Siphon back was way over 80%.
04:36Millions of people had voted in these polls and it became quite evident that the majority
04:40of Fortnite fans hated this change.
04:43The way Epic deals with this however was simply by making a statement claiming that the majority
04:47of players did not like Siphon in the game, yet they provided absolutely no evidence or
04:51proof for their claims.
04:53Meanwhile, the Fortnite community had gathered enough information to debunk this claim.
04:57To us, it appears that Epic is out of touch with the Fortnite community completely.
05:03We hope that with all these mistakes, Epic will at least learn how to deal with these
05:06types of situations in the future, but if they continue with how they have been recently,
05:10there is no doubt in our minds that the company will begin to fail, and their flagship title
05:15Fortnite will go down with them.
05:17As we reach the end of the video, we'd like to ask you guys what your thoughts are on this
05:21situation.
