00:00a group of friends decide to escape the routine and spend a weekend in a cabin in the countryside
00:18unaware that their tranquility will be interrupted by the visit of beings who are not from this
00:22planet and who are anything but friendly the story begins with matt and jess a couple excited
00:28to find out if their baby will be a boy or a girl recording every moment to have a memory of this
00:33special time however what should have been a beautiful memory soon turns into tragedy 10
00:38months later we discover that the event left matt with the loss of an eye and most painfully the
00:43couple without their long-awaited child despite the blow they remain united determined to overcome
00:49their loss and dream of a new baby in this process matt with ingenuity and improvisation tries to
00:56place a camera in his prosthetic eye powering it with a watch battery a gesture that combines
01:01resilience and technology showing how pain can be transformed into creativity and determination
01:06i don't know how realistic all this is because i'm not an electrical engineer but let's assume it is
01:13possible once the bionic eye is ready matt puts it in and wow it looks like he still has his normal eye
01:19as if he had just worn a contact lens simply incredible while watching tv he learns that an
01:26unidentified object has just destroyed a u.s satellite and that the satellite's own cameras
01:30captured the collision in his rush and excitement he doesn't give it much thought and sets out to
01:35fulfill his role as chauffeur driving around town to pick up his friends and experience a weekend full
01:41of intensity friendship and of course lots of aliens first he picks up joe a guy who just got a new
01:48professional camera with a huge lens bigger than my head then he picks up jesse and joe's girlfriend
01:53alice and finally jay's brother trey and his partner julia completing the group ready for what promises
01:59to be an out of this world trip it turns out that the guys were going to spend the weekend at a cabin
02:05in gracefield lent to matt by his boss who intends to capture bigfoot one day huh how crazy after a
02:12five-hour drive the group finally arrives at the cabin which is anything but humble it's a veritable
02:18palace albeit without cell phone or internet service and well without that i couldn't survive
02:25after a barbecue with their friends and several rounds of beer pong because apparently they don't
02:29know how to have fun sober the event that would change their lives was about to happen as they
02:34enjoyed the cool night air joe noticed a light on the horizon and the scary thing was that the light
02:39was growing bigger and bigger approaching with an intensity that filled the forest with mystery
02:43and if a light grows brighter over time it's a sign that it's getting closer and that's exactly what
02:49happened whatever it was grazed the top of the cabin and disappeared into the forest obviously
02:55the boys don't hesitate and rush to investigate wanting to find out what happened matt remembers
03:01that on television they mentioned that some debris from the satellite could fall to earth
03:05so maybe that's what it is searching for a fragment of the artifact matt and joe make their way
03:10through the trees and just a few meters away find the exact spot where the object fell recklessly from
03:15the sky matt reaches into a hole in the ground and pulls out a kind of space rock that is completely
03:21frozen while joe confesses that he doesn't dare touch it at that moment trey arrives completely drunk
03:27saying hey i'm back far from being happy the others scold him for not staying close to the cabin
03:34putting their safe return at risk now stranded in an unfamiliar forest without sunlight
03:40and half drunk matt can't think of anything better to do than ask joe for his camera to explore the
03:45terrain thanks to this he manages to capture an incredible scene a trap set by matt's boss the
03:51hunting enthusiast ends up saving his life from whatever was chasing him when he reunites with his
03:57friends they think about resuming their plan to get out of the forest but not so fast because just as
04:02they are evaluating what to do the barking of what appears to be matt's dog alerts them and without
04:07thinking he goes deeper into the forest to locate it the group arrives at the entrance to what looks
04:13like a giant cave and joe proving once again that he's the smartest insists that he's not going in
04:18not even as a joke but being more loyal than brave he decides to follow his friend into the darkness
04:25as they made their way through the cave the sound of matt's supposed dog grew louder and louder
04:30and the situation took a complete 180 degree turn when trey's phone appeared on the ground
04:35by sheer luck the friends managed to escape hiding behind a hillside and half recording whatever was
04:40chasing them when things seemed to calm down a bit they carried on running as if there were no tomorrow
04:46the good news is that the girls managed to find them the bad news is that they decided not to tell
04:51them anything about what they'd seen so as not to scare them alone joe suggested they leave straight
04:56away to avoid further trouble but matt replied that although it was a good idea traveling at night was
05:01dangerous and since they only had enough petrol to reach the next station they figured it would be
05:06best to wait until morning to continue their journey at dawn matt put the star stone in his
05:12backpack placed his bionic eye on a clean towel and got ready to sleep but that's when he broke down
05:18and confessed to jess that he didn't understand why he felt like he was losing everything he loved
05:23first the baby and now his dog who still hadn't been found he insisted they had to keep going and
05:28revealed that his dream of starting a family was still alive and although jess understood his pain
05:33she knew it was time to move on just then something hit the bathroom window sending everyone running
05:39to see what had happened joe theorized that it might have been a disoriented bird but admitted it was
05:44unlikely as birds don't usually fly at night except nocturnal species like owls while the group tried to get
05:51some sleep trey unable to drift off went down to the basement to mess around with his phone and a few
05:57things never imagining he'd end up in the hands of an alien matt woke up moments later because his
06:03phone was going crazy and when he went downstairs he was met with a terrifying sight objects moving on
06:09their own clocks spinning uncontrollably and lights flickering non-stop fortunately he found trey still
06:15lying on the sofa but in a deep trance so he decided to carry him back to bed returning to the living room
06:22matt got distracted for a few minutes by strange images on the television and those few minutes
06:27were enough for trey's girlfriend to wake up and ask if he'd seen him to which matt replied that
06:31he'd just put him to bed no he's not there she insisted checking the cabin's security cameras they
06:38discovered that trey had gone out for a midnight walk straight into the woods and with no other choice
06:43matt went to get his loyal sidekick joe to give him a hand by the time they reached the edge of the
06:49forest jasla informed them that julia had gone in on her own so now instead of looking for one person
06:55they had to find two turning the difficulty level from normal to hard in an instant following his
07:00instincts matt pulled out a knife just in case right as a terrifying noise began echoing through every
07:06corner of the woods and one of the creatures dragged him for a few seconds luckily he managed
07:11to catch it on video meanwhile back at the cabin jess and alice tried calling the police to send in the
07:17men in black or something similar but couldn't get through what they did find was a map inside a
07:23chest revealing that matt's boss had been investigating bigfoot for quite some time marking every area
07:28where this supposed creature had been cited by the time they reached the edge of the forest jasla
07:34informed them that julia had gone in on her own so now instead of looking for one person they had to
07:40find two turning the difficulty level from normal to hard in an instant following his instincts matt pulled

08:08matt's boss had been investigating bigfoot for quite some time marking every area where this supposed
08:13creature had been cited now from julia's perspective we see her standing in the woods for a few moments
08:20looking up at the sky and just as she's about to go after trey her scream alerts matt and joe when
08:26they reach the spot where the sound came from they can't find the girl but they do find her clothes hanging
08:31from a nearby tree confirming that julia was completely naked continuing their search the friends arrive at a
08:37cornfield and if like me you've seen signs you already know nothing good ever comes from a place like that
08:44to get a full view of the area they come up with the idea of tying their phone to some balloons and
08:48recording from above though unless they had a helium tank that would have been impossible
08:53however it's here that they discover the symbol they'd seen so many times on television
08:58now marked in the cornfield they try to decipher its meaning but there's no time for theories
09:03because the aliens appear to give them a proper fright though they just barely managed to escape
09:08thanks to their speed and sheer luck and for some reason that's hard to explain at the moment of
09:13impact the same symbol appears again the one we'd already seen on television in the field on that rock
09:19and even on the window matt deduces that these beings want to recover that rock whether because
09:25it's sacred a kind of power source or something essential to them it doesn't really matter which but in
09:30order to get it back they demand the return of their friends otherwise they'll get nothing however
09:37matt isn't in any position to negotiate as the aliens arrive in full force their ship hovering
09:42directly above the cabin no longer hiding in the dark and revealing themselves in all their glory
09:47at one point jess is abducted along with the others and with no way to escape the aliens lower
09:53their ship over matt while one of them approaches the rock they so desperately wanted to reclaim
09:58something i personally would have handed over instantly marking the moment of the great revelation
10:04because when one of them touches the rock and places its fingers on it it opens up revealing that
10:09it wasn't a rock at all but an egg inside which was a baby all greenish and adorable once the package
10:15is retrieved the alien returns to its ship and disappears not without first sending the friends
10:20back to earth proving that they never meant to harm them they just wanted their little one back
10:25in the final scene a year after the events we see that the couple has managed to have their own baby
10:31whom they've named emily suggesting that nothing clears the mind quite like a visit from some
10:35extraterrestrials and that's how the story ends honestly it's not the best found footage film i've ever
10:42seen but it's not terrible either especially for an alien one what caught my attention the most were
10:48the inconsistencies or things that perhaps couldn't really happen but if we questioned them the story
10:53simply wouldn't move forward to me the film's fine entertaining though easily forgettable but i want to
