00:00The state of California says it plans to revoke 17,000 commercial driver's licenses that have been issued to migrants.
00:07The move comes after the Trump administration voiced concerns about the practice of illegal immigrants getting driver's licenses and driving semi-trucks or buses, not just in California, but all across the country.
00:21Especially after fatal accidents involving these licensed illegals happened in Florida, Alabama, Texas, and California.
00:28But California Governor Gavin Newsom says that's not the reason they're taking back the licenses.
00:34He says they're based on violations of state laws, but he didn't offer any specifics.
00:39Both the governor's office and the Trump administration agree that these licenses violate the existing standards.
00:46Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said the move is an admission by the Golden State that it acted improperly by issuing the licenses despite previously defending its licensing.
