00:01There once lived a dove on a tree.

00:07A fat red hen living in a nearby farmyard was the dove's best friend.

00:14They used to meet every evening to share jokes and talk about others.

00:20One day, a hungry fox entered the farmyard.

00:25She went in stealthily and caught the red hen.

00:28The fox put the hen in a sack and walked off.

00:33The hen started cackling loudly in protest.

00:36The dove, sitting on a tree branch, had seen what had happened.

00:41So she quickly thought of an idea to save her friend.

00:45The dove flew far ahead of the fox.

00:48She went and lay down on the path on which the fox was walking.

00:54She lay motionless as if she was dead.

00:57As the fox came near the dead dove, she thought,

01:02Wow!

01:05What a lucky day it is today.

01:08I have a juicy red hen in my sack.

01:11And now I see a dead dove lying on the path.

01:16Then I'll have a very juicy, delicious lunch in the afternoon.

01:22With these thoughts, the fox put the sack down by the path.

01:30The hen realized that the fox had put down the sack and struggled to get out.

01:36The fox approached the dead dove.

01:41But just as she reached out her hands to get the dove,

01:46The dead dove flew off.

01:49The fox stepped back in surprise.

02:03Then she thought,

02:04Let her go.

02:06I still have the hen in my sack for lunch.

02:08Then she went and hid behind a bush.

02:13The fox returned, picked up the sack and went home.

02:18At home, when she opened the sack,

02:20She was shocked to see that the hen had been turned into a large piece of stone.

02:28The dove and hen were rejoicing on the success of the dove's plan.

02:34A bird in hand is better than two in the bush.
