00:00One thing that we're asking everyone tonight is how this show, what it does really well,
00:04it shows the dangers of this job, right? Is there something either dangerous or really scary that
00:08you've done in your career that's super memorable for you? Oh, dangerous or really scary? Yeah,
00:13I shot a movie last year in Greece that we had a premiere at TIFF this fall, and it's going to
00:19come out sometime next year. We shot a lot of it in a marble mine in the mountains, like the
00:26northeastern mountains in Greece, and there was a scene where a bunch of us had to sort of flee
00:33from a scary event, I'll say, wearing really high heels with haze just everywhere, blinding you,
00:40and knowing that at the end, right beyond the cameras, was a sheer drop because we were on a
00:46mountain. The floor was cut marble, so it was completely uneven. Again, they made it as safe
00:53as they could, but still, sort of the environment, the haze not being able to see, and running for
00:58your life, even though it was acting, but you have to sell it. I have done certain things that I failed
01:04to tell my wife about when I got home. Pretending to fly a plane for Michael Mann while actually flying
01:12a plane with Michael Mann and the pilot, pilot holding the camera, Michael Mann in the back, Bruce McGill,
01:21the actor, and Michael Moore, the Attorney General for Mississippi, are all in this plane at 11,000 feet,
01:28small private jet. I am pretending to fly it. The pilot is holding the camera on me. Michael Mann is bitching at the
01:38cameraman, but it's got to be higher. Man, dude, just make it a little bit higher. And he had to say,
01:43I'm sorry, Mr. Mann, but it's a little hard to fly the plane this way. And I just, I was going,
01:50hello, Houston, we have a problem. And, and, and of course, outside the window, there were clouds.
01:57And Michael said, we could have shot this on the ground, in a parking lot in Burbank.
02:02I'm like, can we land? And I'm going to go home and tell my wife that I did nothing dangerous today.
02:07Joe Pickett was one of the projects that I had to work directly with a falcon,
02:13a paragon falcon, along with a red-tailed falcon. And those things are extremely dangerous. And
02:19having to handle them so intimately every day, it was pretty scary, but I'm used to danger. My
02:25background is marine and environmental science, and I'm a shark expert, so I used to handle sharks
02:30often. So it was really nostalgic for me, honestly. I did this Western one time, and
02:35I just started acting, and they asked me if I could do my own stunts. I'm like, yeah,
02:40for sure, no problem. Andy Western. And they basically wanted my character to get knocked
02:45off his horse, no problem at all. But it was my first time doing stunts. I didn't know what
02:48I was doing. But there was a tree limb just across, about the right height, and I went wide
02:53open and let that tree limb catch me on the chest, and it backflipped me, and it looked
02:56really sick, and it played well on TV. But I will tell you, I broke three ribs.
03:00I shot a movie in Spain with no rules whatsoever. It was a very low-budget film. And I remember
03:07being on a horse, and we're just taking off, and the horse didn't speak English. I know
03:11that sounds silly, but we were in Spain. And I'm like, whoa. And he's like, uh-oh. I'm
03:16like, what does he stop to? But the horse actually stopped on his own as we neared a cliff.
03:21And I remember thinking, like, this is definitely different than what you're used to in America.
03:25Not that it was bad. It was just different. I don't know if there's an aspect of the music
03:30business that isn't scary or dangerous. But, uh, I don't know. I grew up bull riding,
03:34so I kind of look at it like that aspect. It's like, okay, you know what? We did this
03:37for so long. It's like, nothing's going to be too scary. It's just the same aspect.
03:41Just tie in and just see what happens. Get up for the ride. Hope to hang.
