Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez is not yet off the hook in the controversy on anomalous and 'ghost' flood control projects, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said on Nov. 13, 2025. In a press conference in Malacañang, Marcos said, however, that there has been no evidence to link the former Speaker to the flood control scandal. Romualdez, the President's cousin, has been tagged in previous legislative inquiries – accusations he has since denied.

00:00Well, no, that part of the list, we'll give you the complete list. I just didn't go through them because there are 37 of them. So, you'll get, as I said, you'll get the briefer, which will give you more detail on all of the things that I've said today.
00:21Is the speaker, the former speaker included in the list? I don't think so because no, no. The only evidence that has been made against him is in the Senate. So, I don't know. We don't have, we, no, the speaker, no. Not as yet. Not as yet. If something else comes out,
00:51then he might have to be answerable for something. So, again, you know, we don't fight cases for optics. We fight cases to put people in jail or to make people answer.
01:07You know, I know that there are many, many suggestions of who else we should fight cases against. Well, we're fine with that. Provide us the evidence and we will fight cases against them.
01:19So, we're fine with that. So, we'll let you know about the evidence and we'll fight against them.
01:25Alright? Okay, thank you very much.
01:29and give you all the evidence that you have to be able to do it,
01:37to be able to do it, to be able to do it.
01:39There are no immune to it, no exception to it.
