Iran has unveiled the Shahed-161 — a compact, low-cost attack and reconnaissance UAV that its designers say will reshape regional drone warfare. Tested at the IRGC Aerospace Exhibition, the Shahed-161 features a 150 km range, ~2-hour endurance, a 26,000 ft service ceiling, ~135 km/h cruise speed, a 170 kg lightweight frame, vehicle launch capability and the ability to carry two 50 kg munitions or advanced optical payloads. Analysts warn the platform’s low cost and mobility make it an attractive export and a potentially disruptive presence on modern battlefields.
