00:00A great British institution is under attack from a foreign government.
00:05President Trump is trying to destroy our BBC.
00:10Not because he cares about the truth, but because he doesn't want to get away with his lies.
00:15Trump has undermined press freedom in America.
00:19Now he's trying to do the same here, disgracefully egged on by the leader of reform.
00:25So will the Prime Minister tell President Trump to drop his demand for a billion dollar settlement from the BBC?
00:34Let me be clear, I believe in a strong and independent BBC.
00:39Some would rather the BBC didn't exist. Some of them are sitting up there.
00:45I'm not one of them. In an age of disinformation, the argument for impartial British news service is stronger than ever.
00:54And where mistakes are made, they do need to get their house in order.
00:58And the BBC must uphold the highest standards, be accountable and correct errors quickly.
01:03But I will always stand up for a strong, independent BBC.
01:07And the BBC is responsible for its domestic population.
01:08Obviously, go two or two.
01:09We won't wait to do this yet or not.
