00:00Please welcome your host, Fleur East.
00:30Hello and welcome to Tuesday's episode of It Takes Two on BBC Two and iPlayer.
00:35What a song to start the show, although that message from the Scissor Sisters won't make the cut here on It Takes Two,
00:42because we always feel like dancing, and so do this lot.
00:46We'll be chatting to three of them shortly, and we'll also be revealing what everyone will be dancing to at the weekend.
00:53But first, here's what's coming up tonight.
00:55On Saturday, Lewis and Katia transported us to Latin America,
01:00and let's just say they were clearly Havana, great time, with their Cuban-style cha-cha-cha.
01:05But how are things tango-ing in training this week? All be revealed soon.
01:11And at the weekend, thanks to a pasty performance packed full of tricks, flicks and kicks,
01:15Motzi awarded Karen and Carlos a perfect Charles 10.
01:19But after back-to-back weeks in flat shoes, how does Karen feel about having to say hi to a heel?
01:25But first, on Saturday night, despite looking like they were on cloud nine,
01:29Lavoie and Aliash found themselves in a dangerous position.
01:32But when it came to the dance-off, Strictly's very own ray of sunshine was able to rise to the occasion.
01:38I'll be chatting to Chris and Aliash in a moment, but first, here's a reminder of Saturday night's performance.
01:43Your presentation and performance, it's always exuberant, and I love that.
01:52You started off with your feather step here, and it was smooth and long,
01:58and then you did a lovely sort of homemade version of the hill turn on the toes.
02:03As soon as you start dancing, it's just like sunshine.
02:08You look beautiful when you were moving.
02:10You were so elegant, and that is what we want.
02:15Please welcome Chris and Aliash!
02:17Yay!
02:19Now, Lavoie faced her first ever dance-off,
02:22and all four judges voted to save her.
02:26But she seemed quite shocked by the result.
02:28Why was that?
02:28I genuinely don't think she thought she was going to be saved ever in a dance-off.
02:32If that moment ever came up.
02:34Especially gets a gladiator.
02:35Lavoie can say she's beaten a gladiator.
02:38You'd never think that, would you, looking at her?
02:40It's pretty major.
02:40Yeah, I mean, I'm genuinely just so, so shocked.
02:43I think she was shocked.
02:44She adored the foxtrot.
02:45It was one of your favourite dance.
02:47Loved the week.
02:48To be in the dance-off was really, really sad, and I just thought,
02:51she thought that's it.
02:53Yeah, well, on the leaderboard,
02:54you were one point below Harry,
02:56so you had to improve in the dance-off.
02:58So, what was your mindset?
02:59What did you say to Lavoie before performing again?
03:02I pretty much said exactly what you just said.
03:05We should improve in the dance-off.
03:08Said, arigato to the judges for saving them.
03:10Yes, I did.
03:13I know what you did there.
03:15It was all in Japanese.
03:16I still am not worried, man.
03:18Yeah, I actually showed that same video to Lavoie,
03:21that Japanese video.
03:22I think that was the one that did it.
03:23Online training.
03:24I think just before.
03:25That's why the heel turn came back in, didn't it?
03:27Exactly.
03:28And we translated that bit.
03:29But I feel like it's just important to be clean in our dance-off
03:33and focus, because it's, you know,
03:36you're kind of going into it with a foxtrot,
03:38which requires so much sort of softness and, you know,
03:41feel for it.
03:42So, it was just that.
03:43We were kind of going through it as much as we could
03:45and just, you know, focus and try and do the best as you can.
03:47That's all you can do, isn't it?
03:49Yeah.
03:49Well, so many viewers have expressed their relief
03:52that Lavoie is still in the competition, including me.
03:54It's a shame they didn't vote, though, isn't it?
03:56Yes, I've got your numbers.
03:58Well, a lot of support for you.
03:59The Dawn French also commented online.
04:03What?
04:03Saying, right result.
04:04Keep going, darling.
04:06Oh, thank you, Dawn.
04:07How cool is that?
04:08I've had so many messages of people supporting it
04:10and they were so happy we were saved.
04:12So, thank you to everyone that's just been behind us.
04:14It's been amazing.
04:14How much does it mean to Lavoie to still be in Strictly?
04:18Oh, she never thought she'd be past week two or three
04:20and it's just mind-blowing for her to still be in the competition now.
04:23And even when I'm learning the dance on a weekly basis,
04:25I think she's never going to be able to get this.
04:26And, you know, I think we've learned she doesn't always get it,
04:29but she's still in.
04:30And, you know, and we can almost smell Blackpool
04:33and that's what's exciting about it.
04:34And I think every week is a bonus now.
04:36Oh, we're getting just so close to, you know,
04:38less and less people, higher up the numbers of each week we're going in
04:41and, oh, it's everything.
04:42She's finding it an amazing journey.
04:44I was speaking to her this morning.
04:45She did Tenerife this week.
04:46Oh, wow.
04:47Yeah.
04:47She's taking a little rest.
04:48She said couple's choice and she chose holiday.
04:50Well done.
04:51Yeah, well, fair enough.
04:52Six days, seven nights.
04:54How long is she staying?
04:55Just let me...
04:56Yeah, just try till Saturday.
04:57Fine, okay.
04:58Yeah, we'll get on to your couple's choice in a minute.
05:00But honestly, the viewers are really loving watching you dance
05:03and we got sent this clip from Ada.
05:05Enjoying your foxtrot?
05:06Stop it.
05:16She's got it nailed.
05:17So cute.
05:18She's, that's amazing and well done.
05:20Oh, that's beautiful.
05:21That's why we do it.
05:22That's it, isn't it?
05:23That's exactly why we do it.
05:24Absolutely right.
05:25Absolutely right.
05:25Honestly, it does look like Strictly has become Lavoie's second home.
05:29So much so, in fact, Roger sent in an email about this.
05:32Oh, not Roger.
05:33Roger's been on.
05:35So, as we can see, you're in some slippers there.
05:38Bal is also in slippers, but she did a dance barefoot.
05:40Oh, Lavoie is going to be mortified that that's been revealed.
05:43I'd like to say, I'd like to say to Roger, how often does he wear heels for eight hours
05:49a day on a daily basis and not get away with slippers, quite frankly.
05:52Big up, Roger.
05:53Yeah.
05:53Are they going to make a weekly appearance in the Claude Authority?
05:56Do you know what?
05:57If people want them to make an appearance, I think Lavoie will be thrilled.
05:59She can wear her slippers on the BBC.
06:00I think it's amazing.
06:01I can't believe they've done that.
06:03I love how comfortable you are there now.
06:04Let's wear her slippers on.
06:05Yeah, just like, ah, yeah, yeah.
06:06I've got some time.
06:08Let me just...
06:08At least they're sparkly, though.
06:09Look, they're still sparkly.
06:10Yeah, they're still part of Strictly.
06:11Strictly-fied.
06:12I love it.
06:13We've also had a question from David, who is encased on C.
06:16He says, Chris and Lavoie's characters are so different.
06:20I wonder at what point in the transformation process does the switch flip from one to the other?
06:24Oh, that's a nice question for me.
06:25For me, it's literally when I put the hair on.
06:29I think it's that.
06:29So even in the make-up stage, for me, I still feel like I'm very much Chris.
06:32And then the minute that goes on, something happens and it just changes me.
06:37And I know if I'm nervous about doing something, even when we're choreographing,
06:40I'll say, I hate this move on me, but I know she'll look good doing it.
06:44And it's like a weird switch for me.
06:46Yeah, it's interesting that you mention that, though,
06:47because in the training room, Aliash, it's Chris.
06:50And then on Saturday night, it's Lavoie, which means a different body shape.
06:53Do you feel a difference?
06:54Do you feel a difference?
06:55Yeah, how does that affect the dance?
06:56I do.
06:57Actually, I do.
06:58Like, the most fascinating thing for me is, one is the personality,
07:02and then the second thing is the difference in the way you move.
07:05Oh.
07:06Which is...
07:06Oh.
07:07It's fascinating.
07:08Like, it took me a couple of weeks to kind of get my head around it.
07:11And then when I'm choreographing, I would, you know, when we rehearse,
07:15I would have you in my head doing it with me.
07:17Yeah.
07:18But then now when I'm choreographing, there's certain steps that I go,
07:21no, I shouldn't do this step because it's going to look better on my wife
07:24if I do it this way.
07:25So you get, like, a different person on a Saturday than what you've trained with all week.
07:28Pretty much.
07:29I'm doing strictly this year, double.
07:31Yeah, it's so interesting, isn't it?
07:33Yes.
07:33Correct.
07:33I love this process of learning all about it.
07:36It's very, very cool.
07:37Well, you're through to another week.
07:39Yeah!
07:41Oh, I've just found a skin of my teeth.
07:43And you'll be performing a couple's choice to this.
07:46Don't tell me not to live.
07:49That's Don't Rain On My Parade by Barbara Streisand.
07:52Another icon, a powerhouse track.
07:55So it sounds like we're really going to get a show.
07:57What style of couple's choice are you going to deliver?
07:59It's from Funny Girl, so the name fits right.
08:02So what you're going to get, you know, it's all about the dancing
08:05and the technique and trying to nail all of these stars.
08:07This week, it's going to be an absolute performance.
08:09It's going to bring the performance.
08:10Lavoie is a showgirl.
08:12She's a performer.
08:12It's all about the entertainment and the show.
08:14So you're going to get a full-on show this week.
08:17Oh, and you're working with choreographer Bill Demar, Olivier, award-winning.
08:21Yes, please get that in because all he's got is a swimming badge.
08:24So in Japanese.
08:29What can we look forward to then, Eliash?
08:31Well, some great choreographer.
08:32You can finally have a great choreographer coming.
08:35You're amazing.
08:37You know what?
08:38You hit the nail there on the head.
08:41Lavoie is a born performer.
08:43And the couple's choice is the dance that plays on the strengths of our celebrities.
08:49And that's how I've always seen the couple's choice.
08:53And in our case, this is performing.
08:56And it always have been and it always will be.
08:58When I first saw a WAP perform, I am still, you know, in all of it.
09:03And I want to sort of put that on the strictly floor.
09:06And it's beautiful when you have the freedom of a couple's choice
09:10because you're not judged on a specific technique.
09:13You're not judged on a specific, you know, choreography,
09:16what should be there, what shouldn't be there.
09:17So for me as a pro, I'm literally being taken on a ride
09:22of Lavoie's performing skills
09:24because I've been doing it since I was a kid
09:27and I've never been more inspired, sort of, dancing with someone
09:31and watching someone perform as much as I've been with Lavoie,
09:35which is not you, so don't worry, which is not you.
09:38I couldn't tell it to Lavoie sitting right next to me, but I can tell you.
09:41You can tell, Chris.
09:42I can tell, Chris, yeah.
09:43That's beautiful, thank you.
09:43I mean that.
09:44That's really lovely.
09:45So I need to know, can we get an exclusive, Chris?
09:48Because so far you've done Claude's job, you've done Tessa's job,
09:52you've done the director's job.
09:53What's in store for this weekend?
09:55Well, I mean, there is some now bigger jobs become available
09:59at the BBC beyond Strictly.
10:01So I think she's got her eye on programmes beyond that now,
10:03quite frankly.
10:04Interesting.
10:05And also another job, she wants to look at the judges' paddles
10:08because she feels like they're not being put in the right order
10:10when she's scored and they think it's meant to be a nine
10:12and it's a six.
10:13So, yeah, so she's going to be looking at that.
10:15Not for all the couples.
10:15Something's going on there and there.
10:16Not for all the couples, no.
10:18Just when you're on.
10:19Just when you're on.
10:21Not when you're on.
10:22No.
10:23Well, good luck with training.
10:24I can't wait to see your toe turns.
10:27It's Chris and I, yeah.
10:28Too soon.
10:29Too soon.
10:30Too soon.
10:31I'm sorry.
10:32I'm so sorry.
10:32Next up, it's time to chat-a-chat to Lewis and Katya.
10:37On Saturday, with his floppy hair and tight vest,
10:40many viewers compared our Emmerdale star to one person.
10:44Me?
10:45No, it was Patrick Swayze, actually.
10:48So it's no surprise that the judges were having the time of their life
10:51watching that performance.
10:53More like Patrick Stewart, sorry.
10:54Here's a reminder.
10:57You played with the music.
10:59You were very compact.
11:01You were very cool.
11:02You guys have been brilliant.
11:04That's the way to start the show.
11:07You do everything so well.
11:09Your timing's brilliant.
11:10Your fluency's brilliant.
11:11Just keep going, because I love it.
11:14The accents in the choreography, for me,
11:17was so well-balanced.
11:18You did a grand job.
11:20Well, yay, baby.
11:21I like it like you.
11:22Yeah.
11:27It's Lewis and Katya.
11:29You're not wearing your Cuban heels.
11:36Are you OK?
11:37I'm not really feeling myself today,
11:39so I thought I'd put some trainers on.
11:40Fleur, they are in the bag.
11:43I do appreciate it.
11:43Oh, they actually...
11:44And we're not even doing a Latin dance, so...
11:46I don't know what you were doing with them earlier, but...
11:49They're comfortable.
11:50Yes, well, you put on one heel of a performance.
11:54Off the back of a perfect score the previous weekend.
11:57What was your mindset?
11:58I don't know, really.
12:00I mean, I think we did carry a bit of, like, confidence
12:03from the week before into the dance,
12:05but then at the same time, it's a new dance,
12:07it's a new style, new choreography,
12:10which I was finding quite tricky, actually.
12:12So, if anything, it was probably the most nervous I've been,
12:16I think, starting a dance, yeah.
12:18But the only way we can reassure ourselves is,
12:20on Thursday, we do ten runs, solid.
12:24We put it on the board,
12:26and we just want to make sure that we've rehearsed it so much
12:29that even little things that did go wrong during those ten runs,
12:33we can cope with now, because...
12:35Culp.
12:36Cope.
12:36Cope.
12:37We've also done that many times here.
12:40We love it.
12:40So, like, I think that has been serving us so well
12:44every single week, that going into, you know,
12:47the live show, we know we've done absolutely everything we can.
12:52Yeah, and then it's just fun.
12:55Well, it's interesting, because in a week where Lewis struggled,
12:58you still secured your highest-scoring cha-cha-cha ever.
13:01That's amazing.
13:02Wow.
13:04Very, very cool.
13:04It's not me.
13:05So, what extent do you think Lewis is a little too hard
13:08on himself sometimes?
13:09But it's not even too hard.
13:11The thing is, celebrities, they have no measure,
13:14you would know, of what's good or what's not.
13:16You turn up on Mondego, right?
13:19We're doing a cha-cha-cha.
13:20Put yourself in this weird position, you know,
13:23twist, don't twist, head straight, shoulders there,
13:25hip open, toes up.
13:27You know, you don't know whether it's right or wrong,
13:31what it's supposed to feel like.
13:33You're just having a crash course in cha-cha-cha.
13:36So, of course, if it doesn't, sort of, the outside doesn't connect
13:41with your internal feeling, it can feel slightly alien to you.
13:46And you can only trust the fact of me saying,
13:49you are doing great, this is exactly what we need, right?
13:52Yeah.
13:53And from experience, actually, when it feels weird,
13:55it's usually right.
13:56Yeah!
13:56It's like, the more awkward it feels.
13:59It's when you're taking the mic in, it's like,
14:01oh, it's like that, isn't it?
14:02And I'm like, exactly!
14:03Yeah, exactly.
14:04And I was like, I was just joking.
14:05She's like, well, just joking.
14:07You admitted, though, that you found it really hard last week.
14:09What was it in particular that you found tricky?
14:11I think it was, like, exactly what we've just been saying there,
14:13the awkwardness of, like, the shapes, like, sitting in your hips
14:17that I've just never, ever done in my life
14:19or no one would ever do, really.
14:20Yeah!
14:21And then just kind of, like, the weight transfer,
14:24the changing up of the music, the beats,
14:27the counting of the music was very different
14:29than I've been counting in other dancers.
14:31And it was just, like, a multiple of, like, different things, really.
14:35But, um...
14:35And finding confidence in that, I think.
14:37But you did it really well.
14:39You didn't tell me until Saturday after we've danced
14:42that, you know, it's the most nervous you've been.
14:45Yeah, but I didn't want to, like...
14:46I didn't want to bring an energy to us, too, like, for the dance.
14:50I thought, I'll just wait until after.
14:51Well, people online loved your incredible connection.
14:54Katia, what is it like for you to be able to choreograph
14:56such electrifying routines?
14:58Yeah, I think what's been really exciting is every routine,
15:03we manage to show different emotion, you know,
15:07whether it's a fun jive or we did quite a bit more...
15:12I would say, I don't know...
15:15What was the next one?
15:16Yeah.
15:16You know, we showed loads of emotions at every single dance,
15:19whether it's soft or a little bit more assertive or deep or fun.
15:24And that was different, you know, that was flirty.
15:26That's a natural way the cha-cha-cha is done.
15:29So with the movement comes the emotion, you know.
15:32And to be fair, I did keep telling you, dance with me, dance with me.
15:35I was just focusing on the steps and the hips and all of that.
15:38Exactly.
15:39You forget to dance, and it wasn't until you do that
15:41that you feel the emotion, really.
15:43Yeah.
15:43To be fair, there's a lot to think about.
15:45But you know what, let's cha-cha change the topic.
15:47Cha-cha change the topic.
15:48And look ahead to this week, where you'll be dancing a tango to this.
15:52Oh, that's 12 to 12 by Somba.
15:58We haven't seen a serious side to you, actually,
16:01since your week three Paso.
16:03So how Somba is the vibe going to be of this dance?
16:06This is a strict one, right?
16:08Well, this is a similar question to
16:11what shoes do I need to wear for this dance?
16:14What face do I need to wear for this dance?
16:17Yeah, it is a serious one.
16:19It is, yeah.
16:19And actually, what we've been working on is very much like
16:21very focused and very much just like two people dancing
16:26and the intensity between that rather than sort of like
16:28any sort of tricks or putting on a big show.
16:32It's kind of, we're trying to kind of draw,
16:34I think we are, aren't we?
16:35We are.
16:35We're trying to, you're looking at me a bit weird there.
16:39I think we're trying to draw everyone in to watch us
16:42rather than, you know, putting on a big performance,
16:44which is different and nice and I'm looking forward to it.
16:47Yeah, it's going to be interesting to see that new side
16:49to this couple.
16:50I'm very excited.
16:51Well, Katia, you do take the educational side of things
16:54very seriously.
16:55Lewis, you posted this.
16:56Let's take a look.
16:57What is that?
16:59Please explain what's going on here.
17:01Interesting what you can get with a sausage roll,
17:03hi, in the morning.
17:04Look how detailed this is.
17:06Four spot, four spot Lewis.
17:07This doesn't make any sense to you.
17:08So that was Monday morning.
17:11Walk straight into the studio and there's your routine.
17:15It gives me the piece of paper so I'm looking at it.
17:17I don't have a clue how to read it.
17:19But, uh, makes sense to you at least.
17:21Yeah, this action is not as detailed.
17:23That was a...
17:24Oh, was it not?
17:24Normally, I write down the counts
17:27and I write shapes of the moose...
17:29Shapes?
17:30Sheer.
17:30Shapes of the moose as well.
17:32Well, you better get reading
17:33and get those steps into action.
17:36Good luck this week.
17:38It's Lewis and Katia!
17:39Yeah!
17:41CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
17:43Yeah!
17:45OK, from a couple who are used to being at the top
17:47to a chart that is used to making you bop,
17:50it's time for Top of the Bops.
17:52Welcome to It Takes Two's Top of the Bops!
18:03Tonight we'll be announcing the songs
18:04our couples will be dancing to on Saturday.
18:07So, in no particular order,
18:08here's this week's Top 8.
18:12Straight in at 8.
18:13As we've just heard,
18:14Lewis is hoping that his Tango to 12 to 12
18:17by New York musician Somba
18:18will be right up your Fifth Avenue.
18:20At 7, Vicky will be dancing
18:24to Girls Aloud's debut single
18:26and number one hit,
18:27Sound of the Underground.
18:28And after topping the leaderboard,
18:30she's hoping for something
18:31kind of ooh with this jive.
18:34A return at 6,
18:35Say Grace's modern version
18:37of the 1960s pop anthem,
18:39You Don't Own Me.
18:40However, Karen is hoping she owns
18:42her American Smooth on Saturday.
18:45A non-mover of 5,
18:47Amber and Nikita will be performing
18:49the ninth passo of the series
18:50to an epic rendition
18:51of the Aerosmith hit,
18:53Dream On.
18:55At 4,
18:56Lavoie's couple's choice
18:58will be to Barbara Streisand's
18:59Don't Rain on My Parade.
19:01Will there be an outpouring of love
19:03for this number?
19:05Now the moment you've all been waiting for.
19:08It's the top three.
19:09Again, in no particular order.
19:12At 3,
19:13Fanalo's Get Ready.
19:15Alex and Johannes
19:16will be waltzing away to this.
19:19That's Barry Manilow's
19:21Weekend in New England.
19:23It's a track that has been
19:24a favourite on Strictly
19:25with the likes of 2004 champ
19:27Jill Halfpenny dancing to it.
19:29So Alex is hoping that
19:30after a score of 30
19:31at the weekend,
19:32she'll have a rise
19:33and no fall with this waltz.
19:37At 2,
19:38George and Alexis
19:38will be performing
19:39a rumba to this.
19:42That's Lily Allen's cover
19:44of Keen's
19:45Somewhere Only We Know,
19:46which hit number one
19:47in 2013
19:48after featuring
19:49in a festive ad.
19:51So has Christmas come early
19:52for George
19:52with this gift of a track?
19:56And claiming that
19:57number one spot
19:58it's Balvinda and Julian.
20:00They will be dancing
20:00to this.
20:03Balvinda will be hoping
20:04there is nothing rough
20:06about her American smooth
20:07to My Guy by Mary Wells.
20:10The 1964 hit single
20:11was written and produced
20:12by Smokey Robinson,
20:14but let's hope
20:15it doesn't cause Bal
20:16to feel burnt out.
20:18And that's it
20:19for this week's
20:19official Strictly
20:20Top of the Box.
20:26Next up,
20:27you know what?
20:28Nobody really knows
20:29this about me.
20:29I love bears.
20:31Winnie the Pooh,
20:32Paddington,
20:32and even Bear Grylls.
20:34And none of them compare
20:35to the nation's favourite softie,
20:38Pudsy.
20:40And after his big return
20:41to It Takes Two last night,
20:43Pudsy has been blown away
20:44by all the love
20:45he's received.
20:46Even our crew
20:47want pictures with him.

22:24As you might have guessed,
22:25my final couple of the night
22:27are Karen and Carlos.
22:28They stepped it up
22:29with a fast-paced Charleston
22:30that literally turned
22:31our world upside down,
22:33as you can see.
22:34While I figure out
22:35how to get the right way up,
22:36here's a reminder
22:37of that performance.
22:40Well, you're right,
22:41little Bobby Dazzler, darling.
22:43I'm going to call you
22:43Kaz Dazz, I think.
22:45That was absolutely incredible.
22:48It was definitely a fast-paced,
22:52difficult routine
22:54which you handled very well.
22:55There was so much to like.
23:00You hit that perfectly.
23:01It was absolutely brilliant.
23:02All in all,
23:03I just loved it.
23:05Give it up for Karen and Carlos!
23:13OK, Kaz, tell us,
23:15how does 90 minutes of football
23:17compare to 90 seconds of that Charleston?
23:19To be fair,
23:20I used to walk a little bit
23:21in a football match
23:22and there was...
23:23Yeah, after my team-mates,
23:24there was a little bit of walking
23:25every now and then.
23:26There was no walking in that.
23:28We did not ease up at all.
23:30At all.
23:31So that was harder,
23:32I think, for me.
23:33Yeah, it was zero chill.
23:35No chill.
23:35It was amazing.
23:36We've taken some inspo
23:37from a video
23:38that you posted
23:39on your podcast socials.
23:40This is how Carlos has been
23:42every time he finishes
23:43a fast dance with you.
23:45Take a look.
23:45No!
23:46Take my way away!
23:52Take my way away!
23:56Take my way away!
23:59That was genuine!
24:00I'm just sat...
24:01I'm, like, still like, babe!
24:03I'm, like, only 22.
24:04What happened to me?
24:05Oh, babe!
24:06Compared to your other routines,
24:07how physically challenging
24:09was that routine?
24:10Oh, Fleur, darling.
24:11I think, like I said
24:13on the live show,
24:13this is the hardest routine
24:15we've ever done.
24:16The fastest...
24:17Yeah!
24:17The amount of the content
24:18we have in this routine
24:19is relentless.
24:20It...
24:22I mean, I survived!
24:24And this woman,
24:26she literally...
24:27Her stamina is just outstanding.
24:29Yeah, honestly,
24:30you have incredible stamina.
24:32Like, you just keep going.
24:32You could just keep going, didn't you?
24:34I couldn't believe
24:34football just won this game.
24:36He just won the game.
24:37That routine was so fast.
24:39Did you actually track
24:40how many steps you did?
24:41Oh, I reckon...
24:42I don't know.
24:43It felt like a billion.
24:44Yeah, it just...
24:45It felt like that.
24:46It kept going
24:46and we kept going
24:48and, yeah,
24:49when I first saw it,
24:50on the Monday,
24:51I looked and thought,
24:53whoa, there's no chance
24:54I'm A, remembering that
24:55or doing it
24:56and, yeah,
24:57so I don't know
24:58how we managed it.
24:58Yeah.
24:59Well, our lioness
25:01isn't just putting Carlos
25:01through his paces.
25:03Amber posted bits online.
25:06Ah!
25:07Yeah, so I can see you guys.
25:08Actually, that's my ball.
25:10Well, the fact
25:11that you're playing football
25:12with your fellow celebs
25:14shows that you're
25:15very much at home.
25:16How true is this?
25:17Well, Carlos is right.
25:19It's actually his ball
25:20and I gifted it to him
25:21like week one
25:23and he takes it everywhere.
25:25Yeah.
25:25So, without...
25:25It's one of the therapeutic things.
25:27Without the ball,
25:27I won't be able to play
25:28and then Amber said,
25:29oh, Kaz can have a kick around.
25:31So then...
25:31And then Nikita joined in
25:32and everyone was joining in then
25:34and it was just felt at home.
25:35Oh, yeah, it felt great.
25:36But if you didn't bring the ball,
25:37we wouldn't be able to play.
25:38So, well done you.
25:39And, by the way,
25:40why a wig?
25:41Why the wig?
25:42Um...
25:43Just mixing it up
25:45every Saturday.
25:46Yeah, we were going to go with that
25:48and then we changed it.
25:49But, yeah,
25:50but every now and then
25:51we might throw a wig on.
25:52I like it.
25:53Sneaky behind the scenes
25:54that we've got there.
25:55Very exciting.
25:56Your four-month Strictly partner,
25:58Angela Scanlon,
25:59was in the audience.
26:00What did she have to say
26:01about your Charleston?
26:02Because you actually scored
26:03the same score, 35,
26:05that you got for your
26:062023 routine together.
26:08Oh, right.
26:08Yeah.
26:09Yes.
26:09Oh, she asked me after.
26:12She was like,
26:12I could have not done that.
26:13I said, no, you can't.
26:15You couldn't.
26:15It was fast.
26:17That's ridiculous.
26:19Fast.
26:19I know.
26:20Look at me,
26:20I'm out of breath.
26:21But, yeah.
26:22But she was the Charleston Queen
26:23and she is the Charleston Queen.
26:26So it's amazing
26:27to have two Charleston Queens with me.
26:28I'm a lucky boy.
26:29That's amazing.
26:30Your reaction to that 10
26:32from Motsi was priceless.
26:34Now that you've had some time
26:35to let it sink in,
26:36how proud of yourself are you?
26:38I couldn't really believe it.
26:40And I think then,
26:41obviously,
26:41Shirley and Anton fell
26:42and it wasn't to Carlos went,
26:43we got a 10.
26:45Motsi gave us a 10.
26:46I was like,
26:46yeah,
26:47and then it was really,
26:48really strong.
26:48I was like,
26:48oh, my God,
26:49we got a 10.
26:50But, yeah,
26:50it was just wild.
26:52Wild.
26:52So happy.
26:53Yeah.
26:53So happy.
26:54Just what a moment
26:55after all that hard work as well.
26:56It's just such a great reward.
26:57Well,
26:58that dance is Charleston done.
27:00And this week,
27:00you're performing
27:01an American smooth
27:02to this.
27:03That's You Don't Own Me
27:07by Save Grace.
27:09From the pace of the Charleston
27:10to the smoothness
27:11of the American smooth.
27:13Are you looking forward
27:14to having a chance
27:15to slow down this week?
27:16It might appear slow,
27:19but when Carlos is your partner,
27:22there's no slow.
27:24And what I mean by that is,
27:25I always say he's so athletic.
27:27When he glides across the floor,
27:30he moves.
27:31And he is moving
27:33and I'm trying to keep up with him.
27:35So, in my head,
27:36it hasn't slowed down.
27:37It's early days.
27:38You've only had a couple of days.
27:40You know,
27:40give it some time.
27:41After two amazing weeks,
27:43Carlos,
27:43what does Kaz need to do
27:45to keep the standard up there?
27:46I know,
27:47you know,
27:47that's actually quite challenging
27:48is giving a precious
27:49after two outstanding weeks
27:51she had.
27:52And both of the weeks
27:53she had the 10s.
27:54So,
27:55but this one,
27:55we completely changed
27:56the style of the dance.
27:58It's a ballroom.
27:59It's a smooth.
28:00It's about storytelling.
28:02We're going to tell
28:03a beautiful story
28:04between
28:05two amazing
28:06humours
28:07and having this
28:08you don't owe me
28:09sort of fight.
28:11But, you know,
28:11we're going to
28:11really open it up
28:13about everything.
28:14Like,
28:14just everything she has.
28:16The smooth,
28:16the glam,
28:18you know,
28:18the ballroom bits.
28:20The very beautiful
28:21gesture of frames.
28:23Everything we're going to throw
28:24everything we have.
28:25Well, speaking of
28:26returning to the ballroom,
28:27you know,
28:27you've had the chance
28:28to perform in flatter shoes
28:29and now you're back
28:30to the ballroom heels.
28:31How do you feel about that?
28:32Thrilled.
28:37Yeah,
28:37I'm reading you.
28:38Yeah,
28:38I can see you.
28:39We've got that connection.
28:41Craig named Karen
28:42Kaz Daz
28:43on Saturday.
28:44Carlos.
28:45What are you naming her
28:46this week?
28:46Well,
28:47I do actually
28:48gave it a name.
28:49I told you this morning
28:50that you are
28:50the princess
28:51of the darkness
28:52in this dance.
28:53Oh,
28:54princess of darkness.
28:56That's very exciting.
28:58Despite your sporty
28:58background,
28:59Kaz,
28:59you were determined
29:00not to let your
29:01competitive side
29:02break through.
29:02But now we're
29:03over halfway
29:04in the competition.
29:05You feeling a little
29:06bit more competitive?
29:07No,
29:07I don't think
29:08it's competitive.
29:09I think it's more,
29:10I think,
29:11since the rumba,
29:12I think I was
29:13annoyed with myself.
29:14So,
29:15I came in
29:15after rumba
29:16and I think
29:17I've been more focused.
29:19Yeah.
29:19And I know
29:20how the week
29:21kind of sets out now.
29:23So,
29:23I came in
29:24and for the
29:25peeky-blindness
29:26I said,
29:26Carlos,
29:27I'm going to be
29:27so focused.
29:29And that's
29:29all I've changed,
29:30really.
29:30Yeah,
29:31she says to me,
29:31I could do better.
29:32I feel like I'm not
29:32giving 100%.
29:33Pushed me,
29:34I can do better.
29:35That was her.
29:37Yes.
29:38And better,
29:38you have done.
29:39You have delivered.
29:41Blackpool is in sight,
29:42Carlos.
29:43What would it mean
29:44to get Kaz there?
29:46I can't believe it.
29:47Blackpool is around
29:47the corner.
29:48It means everything.
29:49I have to take it to Blackpool
29:51and we have to make it
29:52and we'll try our best
29:53and to show her
29:54everything that they're
29:55dancing about
29:56in Blackpool
29:57in that amazing ballroom.
29:59Even the smells
30:00can make you a better dancer.
30:01Trust me.
30:02Even the smell?
30:03Yeah, smell the room.
30:04Smell for the room
30:05makes you a better dancer.
30:06Trust me.
30:06Interesting theory.
30:08Well, all the best
30:09for this week.
30:10It's Karen and Carlos.
30:14Well, that's it for tonight.
30:17Thanks to all my guests.
30:19Jeanette will be here tomorrow
30:20with a first look
30:21at how some of our couples
30:22are getting on in training
30:23and you can look forward
30:24to a very special panel
30:25of fashion experts.

30:31and model Jodie Kidd.
30:33They'll be talking
30:33through the different
30:34Strictly styles
30:35we've seen in this series
30:36and revealing
30:36their favourite looks.
30:38Plus, George and Alexis
30:39and Valvinda and Julian
30:40will be here
