00:32Good morning and welcome sa Rise and Shine, Militinans.
00:34Hello, thank you for having us.
00:35Thank you for joining us today.
00:37Alright, well, Tojang, your character Wu Jean in Finding Santos is a former K-pop star and marks on a meaningful journey in the Philippines.
00:45Tell us about your role. What was the most challenging part and how did you prepare for that role?
00:50Challenging parts, when it comes to acting, this character is quite defeated.
00:56And I'm depressed.
00:59So, there's a big difference between me and the character.
01:03And so, it means like I had to simmer a lot of emotions and thoughts and let them seep out naturally.
01:10So, you know, without, I mean like without lines is so hard to act for actors, you know.
01:19So, I have to express a lot of things through my emotions and my expressions.
01:25It was kind of difficult.
01:27But, yeah, I try my best.
01:30You know.
01:31Well, here, Meg, we see that you played the role na Gabby, isang Pinay fan, na sumama sa road trip together with Wu Jean.
01:39Para sa'yo, ano yung unforgettable, yung pinakamasaya na moment dito sa role mong to?
01:44Um, actually, siguro po, since yung set po namin consisted of like a Filipino and Korean team.
01:52So, although mayroong, of course, language barrier, I think yung pinakamasaya po was seeing like two of these cultures parang coincide and somehow communicate.
02:03Even through like actions, but like as CEO, he's Korean and I'm Filipina, parang sobrang nakakatuwa na makakakita na parang working together in both countries.
02:15Okay.
02:16Tell us about the, a little bit of the story of Finding Santos.
02:20And I'm curious, why is that the title, Finding Santos?
02:23So, our movie is about honoring the Filipino soldier named Santos.
02:27I am a, as I mentioned earlier, my character Wu Jean is a retired, um, K-pop idol.
02:35So, um, but one day, my grandma asked me to find a man named Santos.
02:41Okay.
02:41So, um, so challenge accepted.
02:44So, I set up on my journey to find Santos with my manager and on the way to find Santos, we got, I got to meet, um, Meg.
02:54Okay.
02:54So, yeah.
02:56Yeah, for Meg, since you mentioned about the, somehow yung pinakasinopsis ng story, pero sa sa'yo, para sa'yo,
03:02how does it feel to be a part of a film that yung binibida eh yung, yung Philippine-Korea relationship?
03:10Um, personally, ako po, I come from a Korean management po.
03:13As a prepop idol.
03:16So, I think, in like a different setting na filming naman, like acting, uh, sobrang nakaka, it's such an honor na I'm able to, um, experience a different kind of setting.
03:30Although it's the same with Korean and Filipino but through acting and like the whole cast of the CEO, they were good mentors.
03:41How was it? They're riding the tricycle. It was so tiny.
03:48I could feel the breeze itself, so it's good.
03:54Since with this film, you experience a taste of the culture of the Philippines, so how do you find the Philippines about the culture and the way people live here?
04:04Honestly, I didn't have any issue or problem because all the Philippine people are known for being kind, attentive, and warm-hearted like Magna and all the Philippine crews.
04:16So I'm such a blessed. We don't have any argument or beef at all.
04:21So you were able to visit some of the places here in the Philippines, which ones?
04:27A lot, yeah. Aurora and Kwak, Manila and...
04:31What was that?
04:32Yeah, Pampanga.
04:34Pampanga, okay.
04:35How about you Meg, since here in the Philippines, very famous the K-pop dramas, how does it feel that you're acting with K-pop stars?
04:47Am I?
04:50I mean, I was very pressured by the truth because the language, especially the first time I was acting, actually.
04:58Oh.
04:59And the first time I was acting with a Korean team, like Korean team.
05:05So it was a pressure, especially like my experience with Theo.
05:09So I was so nervous. But I think the set vibe was very good, despite being a road film as well.
05:18Okay, so how many hours was the road trip?
05:22You really didn't travel, right?
05:24Yes, Paul.
05:25All of the transportation.
05:27Okay, what did you try? Tricycle, even jeepney?
05:30No, just a lot of walking.
05:34A lot of walking.
05:36Which one was your favorite so far in all of the scenes that you shoot?
05:40Oh, it's hard to choose one moment because, you know, this is my, I've been a lot of countries
05:48and place because of my work. But this is by far the best exotic experience in my life.
05:56So as soon as I got to the Aurora, I was shocked that, oh, look at the big palm trees over there
06:05and the nature was so, you know, breathtaking and the scenery was so mind-blowing.
06:11So all the location and, you know, vibe is kind of surreal.
06:16All right.
06:18I have a question for Theo.
06:20What's your favorite Filipino food? Have you tried any of our...
06:23Yes, Filipino food.
06:24I've tried a lot.
06:25Yes, first of all, I love Jollibee.
06:27So I just, just had it.
06:28Jollibee.
06:29Ah, fast food.
06:30Ah, okay.
06:31And sirigang.
06:32Wow, sirigang.
06:33Yes, similar to Korean kimchi soup.
06:36Mmm.
06:37Sour.
06:38Yeah, sour.
06:39Sour and savory.
06:40Sour and savory.
06:41We also like Korean food.
06:43Yeah.
06:44Yes.
06:45Oh, we tried balut.
06:47Balut?
06:48Ah, I didn't try, but other, other cast named Joon-ha tried.
06:54Yeah.
06:55Tried having a balut.
06:56Yeah.
06:57Multiple.
06:58Multiple times.
06:59It's good that you have to experience the culture of the Filipino and also Filipino food.
07:05And how long did you stay here in the Philippines?
07:08Filming wise, we were in, what not?
07:11Six weeks?
07:12Uh, like, yeah.
07:14More than, like, yeah.
07:16Will you stay here for good to try showbiz here in the Philippines?
07:19Uh-uh, sorry.
07:20Will you stay here for good in the Philippines to try showbiz here?
07:24I hope so.
07:25I hope so.
07:26For a long term?
07:27I hope so.
07:28Yeah.
07:29And do you think this will have part two?
07:31Part two?
07:32I hope so.
07:33Yeah, I hope so.
07:34Yeah.
07:35We have to, yeah.
07:36It depends on the result of it.
07:38Yeah, maybe.
07:39Yeah, okay.
07:40And lastly, these invite our viewers, when and where can they watch Finding Santos?
07:46Our movie opens in theater on the 19th, next week.
07:52Okay.
07:53Yeah.
07:54So, I hope many of you will watch this film.
07:57And this movie is so touching and meaningful.
08:00Because basic theme is honoring the Philippine veterans, the Philippine soldiers who helped Koreans during the Korean War and fought the freedom of democracy.
08:12So, and on top of that, it contains a little bit of different themes and lessons.
08:18So, I hope you will enjoy it.
08:21Alright.
08:22Meg, maybe invite your peepop fans.
