00:00The reason that we are here for Venki, Vinay, Sujit and the rest of the members here, Shanta is here, Kalpana, all of them is because we felt that Karnataka Cricket is suffering and one of the reasons why we are here is to make a difference and that was one of the reasons why we got into administration 15 years ago as well.
00:23It seems like whatever happened in those three years, everything has been undone and right throughout the time that we were away from the association, the constant sort of chatter was, Vapase Aho Karate Ravata.
00:39So I think what is critical is the importance that needs to be given for the key stakeholder which is actually the aspirant boy or girl who wants to, who has that dream in their eyes to go out there and play.
01:01Whether for the state or for a franchise or for the country, we are hopeful that they all go on to represent the country.
01:10The other important stakeholder that has been sort of neglected has been the fan.
01:22The fans for cricket, we are all here because of the fans. Cricket is so popular because of the fans.
01:30And for us, the Chinnaswamy Stadium or any cricket venue is like a temple.
01:40And even today when we go past that, we are all here.
01:45June 4th was a black mark for all of us.
02:01I mean, we certainly feel really hurt, saddened, and we are all with the families of the lives that were lost.
02:10That cannot be undone, but I think what can certainly be done is to, again, retain the glory of Karnataka cricket.
02:20Karnataka is, in terms of Ranji Trophies, we are only second to Mumbai.
02:26And that glory has been lost over the years.
02:31And even in terms of representation, that also has been lost.
02:37The recent historical victory by the women's cricket team, you know, we are all extremely proud of the girls.
02:49The way they went and won the tournament when halfway stage, it seemed like they were not qualified.
02:56And with, you know, an important member missing out on the semi-final and the final, and then the replacement coming in and winning the player of the final.
03:08This is something truly amazing.
03:10But what was very evident was we didn't have a representative there.
03:14I think that's something that needs to change as well.
03:17And I am happy that today Shanta and Kalpana are here.
03:21And that's, again, another focus for this team led by Venki.
03:31I don't want to go into what has happened over the last so many years, because all of you are aware.
03:37I don't need to even go into that.
03:39The infrastructure that is there in Karnataka needs a serious upgrade.
03:46Whether it is the stadium, whether it is the other infrastructure that is dilapidated now.
03:51Where we left off, I think from there to now, all of them are not in a condition where you can actually go and play matches and play cricket.
03:59So, I don't want to go into this thing.
04:03We've got a big deal in that.
