00:00This is the story of the old Bedouin woman and a Bedouin man, one of the strangest stories ever told.
00:06A man married a second wife, having already had a wife and children.
00:11After some time, he began to suspect his new wife.
00:15This suspicion wasn't based on any clear foundation, but rather on mere illusions conjured by his imagination.
00:21His mind and feelings led him to believe that this wife didn't love him.
00:25She rarely spoke to him, and he never saw her laugh or smile in his presence.
00:31Based on this, he concluded that she had desires for another man before marrying him.
00:36This suspicion caused him anxiety and confusion, which only dissipated after he sought the advice of an old woman.
00:43He told her about his wife and his fear that she didn't love him, asking for her help in finding a way to ascertain his wife's feelings.
00:50The old woman told him, you must catch a snake, so its mouth shut, and place it on your chest while you sleep.
00:57When your wife tries to wake you, play dead.
01:00The man followed the old woman's advice and did as she instructed.
01:04When his wife came.
01:06When she tried to wake him, he neither rose nor moved.
01:09When his wife lifted the covers, she saw the snake and, thinking he had been bitten and was dead,
01:16began screaming and calling for his son from his first wife, named Zaid.
01:20It is said that in her state of shock, she recited this poem.
01:24After hearing the poem, the husband was certain of his wife's feelings and understood the depth of her love for him,
01:30which she had concealed only out of shyness.
01:33He rose joyfully from his bed to tell her he was alive.
01:36However, the wife was saddened and angered by this unfounded suspicion.
01:42As a Bedouin woman with great pride and dignity, she was outraged by this test and swore she would not return to him except under certain conditions.
01:50That she would not return until stones spoke to stones, and sticks spoke to sticks.
01:55By this, she meant that it was impossible for her to return to him again.
02:00He became even more perplexed and saw no.
02:02The story goes that a Bedouin man rode his camel to the city to buy provisions for himself and his family.
02:10After loading it with all the food and clothing he had bought, he left it in a corner and went to pray the afternoon prayer.
02:16When he came out of the mosque, he couldn't find his camel.
02:20He searched everywhere, asking everyone he met, until he entered a garden and found three people sitting in the shade of a tree.
02:27He greeted them and asked,
02:29Has anyone seen a camel walking here or there?
02:31One of them asked,
02:33Is your camel blind in one eye?
02:36The Bedouin replied,
02:37Yes, yes, my camel is blind in one eye.
02:41Have you seen it?
02:42The man said,
02:44No.
02:45The second man asked,
02:46Is it tailless?
02:48The Bedouin replied,
02:49Yes, yes, it is tailless.
02:52Have you seen it?
02:54The second man said,
02:55No.
02:56The third man asked,
02:58Is it loaded with many things on its back?
03:00The Bedouin replied,
03:02Yes, yes, it is loaded with all my needs for food, clothing, and drink.
03:07Have you seen it?
03:09The third man said,
03:11No, I haven't.
03:12The Bedouin exclaimed,
03:14Don't drive me crazy.
03:15How can you not know anything about it when you gave me a complete description?
03:20No, no, you are thieves.
03:23My camel is with you.
03:25They replied,
03:26But man, your camel isn't.
03:29Go and look for it elsewhere,
03:30the governor told the Bedouin.
03:33No, I will go to the governor.
03:35My camel is with you.
03:37You described it exactly as it is,
03:39and yet you tell me to go and look for it elsewhere.
03:43So the Bedouin went and complained to the governor.
03:46The governor ordered them brought before him and sent some of his men.
03:50When they arrived at the governor's house and stood before him,
03:53the governor asked them,
03:54This Bedouin claims that you stole this camel.
03:57What do you say?
03:59They replied,
04:00We are not thieves.
04:01We are among the most honorable of people.
04:03The Bedouin said,
04:05But, my lord,
04:07they gave me a complete description of it as if it were right in front of them.
04:11They said it was one-eyed,
04:12and it is indeed one-eyed.
04:14They said it was lame,
04:16and it is indeed lame.
04:18They
04:18They said it was lame.
04:19They said it was lame.
