00:00Are the Knicks' improved offensive rebounding numbers masking deeper half-court issues?
00:06New York, before Sunday's game, they led the NBA in offensive rebounds per game with 15.3.
00:11And I thought it was important before that game,
00:14Mitch Robinson had only played in three of those contests.
00:16Now he's played in four.
00:17They are near the top of the league in second-chance points, 17.6.
00:21That ranks seventh in the league.
00:23Not at all.
00:24I'm not worried.
00:24I don't think it's masking any weaknesses because the Knicks are also fifth in passes per game at 310.
00:31They're averaging around 27 assists per game.
00:34Last year, 27 assists in the Tom Thibodeau era was a great passing night.
00:38Now it's every night.
00:39It's the average of what they do game to game.
00:41And this is not the same Tibbs' isoball or nasty over-dribbling from Jalen Brunson or Mikael Bridges of yesteryear.
00:48The Knicks have really moved off of that high pick-and-roll that was a cornerstone of Jalen Brunson initiating the offense.
00:55It took too many dribbles and too many seconds to initiate to that.
00:58It's really phased into more DHOs, more horns action, more pistol, a little bit of that stacked pick-and-roll.
01:05But did the offense go in and find the right mismatch?
01:07Flipping those things and being more unpredictable has been a blueprint of Mike Brown's offense so far.
01:12And I've been absolutely loving it because, as you said earlier, brother, it's only getting started.
