00:00Hello, my name is Geordie Gregg. I'm the Editor-in-Chief of The Independent and I'm

00:05asking for your help. I'm asking you to help me solve a social problem which is

00:12deeply disturbing in our country. At any one time there are 70,000 children

00:18missing and we at The Independent were appalled and shocked and moved to see

00:25how we could help. So we teamed up with Missing People, the guardian angels of

00:30those who are missing, this superb small but incredibly potent charity to join up

00:37with us to find a solution to this social degradation which is that children are

00:45away from their families, unhappy, on the streets, vulnerable. So with Missing

00:52People we've come up with a scheme where those who are missing can call in 24

00:57hours a day and find advice and hopefully a route back home. It's called Safe Call

01:03and we need your help. We have to raise just under £200,000 in order to make

01:10this a viable means of securing safety for those most in need in Britain. It will be

01:18wonderful if you could donate £5, £10, £20, £100, anything you give will make a

01:28considerable difference to our mission to reunite the missing children back to their families.
