Transcript
00:00The Ape Canyon story is really one of the classics of Bigfoot.
00:04This isn't just a Bigfoot story. This is the Bigfoot story.
00:09What happened is that there was this core group headed by this guy, Marion Smith.
00:16His son, Leroy Perry Smith, his son-in-law, Fred Beck, a family friend named John Peterson,
00:23August Johansson, and another friend, Mack Rhodes.
00:26They established a claim for a gold mine in 1922 called the Vendor White Mine.
00:37Working up there year-round is not impossible, but you're not going to get anything done.
00:43Let's build a cabin.
00:45It was 10 by 20. Build this cabin strictly by hand, maybe with block and tackle.
00:50It was a formidable cabin.
00:53We got towards evening when they went to bed at the cabin that night after it got dark.
01:00There's this large impact on the cabin.
01:03They all look out through the hole, and they can see six or seven in the moonlight,
01:07six or seven of these large creatures dancing around the cabin, and all hell breaks loose.
01:12The creatures are throwing rocks. They're climbing on top of the roof.
01:16They're trying to get in. They're trying to dig underneath the cabin.
01:20They're beating at the door.
01:22One of the creatures reached through the chinking and grabbed the axe and was pulling it out.
01:29In the morning when it got light, it had stopped, and it decided that that's it. We're out of here.
01:36There's large rocks scattered everywhere.
01:39There's footprints, large human-like footprints, 13, 14, 15 inches long everywhere.
01:45I think the imagery is what draws people to the story.
01:51There's no evidence of it, really. It was just a story.
01:54Did this actually happen? Were these guys real?
01:57What if there's some sort of evidence left behind of the cabin or the mine?
02:04What if there's some sort of evidence right behind the cabin?
02:08What if there's some sort of evidence left behind it?
02:14What if there's some evidence left behind that?
02:19What if there's somelike footprints left behind it?
02:24What if there's some sort of evidence of the nearbyayı?
02:26I think that there's a little it's not, I think.
