00:00We've thought for far too long that our war memorials across the country have been allowed to fall into disrepair.
00:06We've had an army of volunteers across the country who've come out in our towns and villages to protect and preserve them,
00:13but too many of them are not in the state that they ought to be in.
00:16As well as the huge investment into housing for veterans and the support that this government is determined to provide to our veterans,
00:24we also believe it's important to honour the fallen servicemen and women who have fought for our freedom and preserved the peace for generations.
00:35And so we're announcing £2 million today that will go a long way to restoring war memorials in every town, village and city to the glory that they deserve.
