00:00Tonight, we're about to witness the birth of the new king of cooking.
00:06Would it be the world famous chef Jake Miller or the dark horse chef Leon Kennedy?
00:12We're about to find out and let the cooking begins.
00:16You look fancy looking young man. What's your name and what are you doing here today?
00:32My name is Adam Daniel. I play Leon Kennedy and I am in the fight for my life tonight for that.
00:39The K spatula C. King of cooking. Let's light the stove.
00:44Light the stove. So what is at stake tonight?
00:48Love.
00:49Love?
00:50For...
00:51This whole thing is a love story. It's a love for his wife, a love for his dog, a love for food and cooking.
00:58So this is just now fighting for the love of self-preservation in being the K spatula C. King of cooking.
01:09Well, thank you so much for your time. Well, let's get back to it.
01:11Thanks for having me.
01:12You are a world renowned chef, right?
01:14That's right. Jake Miller owned three different restaurants, Michelin style in Chicago, Illinois.
01:18Check them out. Five star each one. 15 stars total.
01:2115 stars. What are you doing here tonight? And what are you fighting for?
01:24Tonight, I'm fighting for the king of cooking championship and I'm fighting against this bozo, Leon Kennedy.
01:30He's going down. I can guarantee it. And it's just a matter of time.
01:34Right now you are looking at the new king of cooking.
01:38Wow. That's very powerful speech from our contestant today, Jake Miller.
01:43You know how the first time when your date come over to your house, you kick everything into closet.
01:52This is what it looks like. And look at that. That is the living room. And this is your closet.
01:58Anyways, let's keep going. Hello. Come here. What's your name?
02:04My real name? Christine.
02:06Are you getting married on this show?
02:09Maybe.
02:10This is the first show that a female lead is not getting married.
02:13And we love it.
02:15Okay. But now, what's your character name? And can you tell us a little bit about your character relationship with Leon?
02:20So my character's name is Ada. And I serve as like a fairy godmother to Leon.
02:27Are you?
02:28Yeah. Yeah.
02:29Okay.
02:30I guess.
02:31We'll find out.
02:32With like potentially romantic interest. We're not sure.
02:36I know that your wife was your whole world. I just think that maybe you shouldn't stay frozen in hers.
02:44She should be a memory, not your prison.
02:50Potentially.
02:51Sequel.
02:52Sequel.
02:53Thank you so much for your time. We're going to bounce.
02:55Look at this. Do you want to know what is in this mysterious box?
02:58You find out in the show. It's going to be shocking.
03:01Hello, Chef. Are we making a soup today?
03:04We're making, basically, it's a fake Sharpton soup.
03:07Where is that?
03:08So, it's right here.
03:11Oh, do you want to try it? Do I want to try it?
03:14Maybe.
03:15Here, what's up?
03:16Oh, wow. Really? Okay.
03:17It's actually still warm.
03:18Okay.
03:19Pulling one off because we're going to be using it on set, but yeah.
03:21Would you like to try some soup?
03:22I just want to adjust the brew.
03:23Nah, it's just for the stars.
03:24Oh, okay.
03:25I'm just kidding.
03:27Oh.
03:28It's effectively a umami bomb because it's just mushrooms upon mushrooms.
03:32Wow. This is really good. Could you tell us how did you make this soup?
03:35It has four or five different kinds of mushrooms and you just kind of just boil it and reduce it down and kind of fortify it.
03:43And it takes hours just to basically extract all of the umami out of the mushrooms.
03:48The work goes into making a good soup.
03:50Let's take a look at that monkey brain.
03:52We really want to know what that is and how are we making that.
03:55So just for context, at the end of the show, for the final competition, the challenge is to make a Eastern cuisine monkey brains.
04:02And apparently this is how we're going to achieve it.
04:04Could you tell us, are we actually using monkey brain?
04:06We're not, right?
04:07We're not.
04:08Okay.
04:09Different forms of props.
04:10So you have these that are solid.
04:11Okay.
04:12That are effectively just plastic.
04:14Okay.
04:15And then you have these ones that are made out of silicone.
04:16Okay.
04:17Which are more malleable because you may need it.
04:19And that's actually made out of jello.
04:20That one's edible.
04:21Oh, wow.
04:22Does it come in that shape or you sculpted it?
04:24Uh, we got molds and we just kind of pour it into a mold and it basically takes a shape.
04:28Wow.
04:29There you have it.
04:30That's how monkey brain is made.
04:35All right.
04:36So tell us about this cage.
04:38Okay.
04:39So inside this cage, we are going to have a monkey.
04:44Hmm.
04:45Trained actor.
04:46He has a way bigger IMDB than I do.
04:48Very famous.
04:49And this is the monkey that we are using in our dish.
04:54And the big thing is, do I do it?
04:57Do I show how good I am to actually get this monkey?
05:01Do what?
05:02Well, do what?
05:03Do you have to unalive?
05:05Oh, that sounds so harsh.
05:07But yes.
05:08I think everyone right away knew who the real star was.
05:17Allie, the capuchin monkey.
05:19This adorable little girl.
05:22Yeah.
05:23Everyone.
05:24You couldn't take your eyes off her.
05:25I think she's already in talks to make her the face of king of cooking and on the poster.
05:30And I'm all for it.
05:31Please do.
05:32And I'm here with.
05:33Crystal.
05:34Crystal.
05:35How long have you been with Allie?
05:37About 10 years.
05:3810 years.
05:39Wow.
05:40She's adorable.
05:41She looks barely over nine.
05:42Okay.
05:43So what are we feeding her?
05:44We're feeding her Welch's fruit snacks.
05:46It's her favorite treat.
05:48Do you think we can get a sponsor on that since we mentioned?
05:51I think we can.
05:52She's done some pre-established productions herself.
05:56What was she just on?
05:58The Righteous Gemstones.
06:00What?
06:02She likes catching air in her mouth.
06:04Oh, does she?
06:05Yep.
06:06That's her thing.
06:07And I also want to point out no monkey, no fish, no any sort of creature was harmed in the making of king of cooking.
06:26What is the dish that you are making?
06:27This is going to be the French aspic.
06:30Now this is Leon Kennedy's famous dish, but it is the white wolf heart French aspic.
06:38This is what we were shooting today.
06:39This is where the VFX comes in, where I punch through the ice.
06:44It breaks apart.
06:45And then we add the dry ice.
06:48And then white wolf.
06:50Three wolves howling into the sky.
06:53I'm playing Wes, the chef du pati of this kitchen.
07:10Recently we got a new line cook who is ridiculously good looking, annoyingly talented, but oddly quiet.
07:18Let's go give him a hard time.
07:23You, of course, Jamie Dawson.
07:26Hi, say hi to Real Talk.
07:28So we're on Real Talk right now.
07:30And this is a show that so many people watches.
07:32People would love to know about the great looking mountain in front of you.
07:36Can you tell us a little bit about it?
07:37The great looking mountain.
07:38Yeah, so this right here, we have Mount Fuji.
07:40I use these beautiful knives over here to carve out of a block of ice in a very dramatic little scene where it starts with a block of ice and I chop it massively,
07:50which turns it into sort of a pyramid shape.
07:53And then I just have at it.
07:54And then after about what?
07:56Let's go with a minute.
07:57A minute of a minute of cutting.
07:59We get this beautiful mountain shape here, which I will then use as my extremely dramatic and over the top plate for my dish, which is octopus.
08:09Insert polished high-end high-lift footage of the final dish.
08:16What are you?
08:17An Indian sandwich wall.
08:18An Indian sandwich wall.
08:19An Indian sandwich wall.
08:20An Indian sandwich wall.
08:21All right, chefs.
08:22This is the fourth round of our first cook-off.
08:23The question is, if you wore a dish, what would you be?
08:39I think I'd be a pizza.
08:41What kind of toppings?
08:42Sausage.
08:43Okay.
08:44Okay.
08:45Ham.
08:46Okay.
08:47Pepper.
08:48Onion.
08:49A little bit Italiano style.
08:50Great choice.
08:51What would you be?
08:52See, unlike Adam, I wouldn't be something as basic as a pizza.
08:56I would be a pancetta and courgette linguine with a chili and white wine sauce.
09:02Somebody pulled the photo up.
09:03I have no idea what that is.
09:05Explain it to us.
09:06It's a pancetta, so a ham-like substance.
09:08So if you don't have pancetta, you can use bacon, courgette, or zucchini, if you will.
09:11And then you mix that in with onions, a bit of chili.
09:14Let that just reduce, and then you add in some white wine, and then you add in your linguine.
09:17Just a very full-flavored and spicy dish because, hey, I'm a spicy...
09:20I'm zesty.
09:21You're zesty?
09:22Are you a home cook?
09:23How do you know that dish?
09:24I have done that dish.
09:25It's one of my favorite dishes to make, and it sounds fancy, so I sound like I'm impressive,
09:29when really it's just pasta with some bacon-y, whiny vegetables.
09:36Oh, man.
09:41You know, I thought I could start over.
09:45I have a quiet life.
09:48That king of cooking shadow just keeps following me.
09:53Huh?
09:54If only I could have shed that before it was too late.
09:59Maybe you'd still be here.
10:02I am Leon Kennedy.
10:05Now, this is sort of incognito Leon Kennedy.
10:11He is a world-famous chef, kind of famously known for a mask that he wears, a gold mask.
10:16No one really knows who he is.
10:18It doesn't really give anything away.
10:20He loses the love of his life right away, at the very beginning.
10:24And that kind of puts him into a deep, kind of dark depression.
10:30And the only thing he has left is his dog.
10:33He gives up everything else, which includes cooking.
10:36That leads him to a year later, to this restaurant, where he decides,
10:41well, maybe it's time I can get back into it, but let me just stay in the background.
10:45So he becomes a line cook.
10:47And then just the forces that I be bring him out.
10:51And he is forced to break some ice with his bare fist, show what he's known for.
10:57And everyone kind of realizes, wait a minute, are you actually the king of cooking?
11:03You are the missing king of cooking.
11:07Leon's the king of cooking?
11:10No, it's impossible.
11:12The Leon Kennedy?
11:14So the king of cooking has been working in our kitchen all this time?
11:18I never suspected it at all.
11:19But who else could make that dish?
11:22And fit check.
11:23Okay.
11:24So traditional outfit, I believe for a line cook, really any one of the chefs.
11:29What it depends on is the hat, the cap, the smaller the hat.
11:34I think the kind of the lower you are in the ranking.
11:37This is line cook.
11:38You will see, you know, very top long hats.
11:42Those are, those are the head chefs, but everyone else is kind of pretty much wearing the same thing.
11:47The entire team over here is in all white.
11:52We have the competing team in all black with like hints of red.
11:55One thing you'll see for Leon, gold.
11:57He's always got something that's gold.
12:00That's the fit check.
12:02The real key is the actual culinary team that comes from the kitchen back here.
12:14They're the ones who give me a lot of attention and they're super sweet and show me how to prep and place and plate.
12:25It looks amazing.
12:26And what they do is just incredible.
12:29I cannot do that.
12:31That's why my hand double is phenomenal.
12:40This gentleman right here.
12:42This is Marvin.
12:43Marvin is my stand in.
12:45Marvin is the real chef here.
12:47Marvin, say hello.
12:48Hi everyone.
12:49Marvin, how was it today doing all the cutting and chopping?
12:54It's pretty easy.
12:56Same thing like what I'm doing in the kitchen.
12:58So this is a natural thing for you.
13:00Yes, it is.
13:01How long have you been cooking?
13:0222 years.
13:03Do you see how I just turn the tables and just make it all about him?
13:07This is how I like it.
13:09You can't be here.
13:10You can't be here, hobo trash.
13:12How about a roast?
13:14You know for a second I thought you were a chef.
13:17I was a fisherman.
13:20I know that your wife was your whole world.
13:21I just think that it's time to move on with your life.
13:25Your wife is in a car accident.
13:27I don't want to be king of cooking if it means losing you.
13:31What should the audience look forward to?
13:33Okay, so this is an underdog story about the most talented chef in the world up against
13:40the billionaires of the world who think they can just use money to destroy people's livelihood
13:44and exploit their like hard work and because this is a show about cooking and we have a
13:50lot of fancy dishes and like splashy cooking sequences.
13:54So if you're a fan of food like myself, I'm sure you and you.
13:58Fine dining or just some good old real short drama.
14:03Be sure to watch and tune in.
14:10Thank you all for watching.
14:11Follow and subscribe for more.
14:13We'll see you next time.
14:24Bye.
