00:00Hello and welcome to this national Janesweather update for Friday.
00:04There is a weather system crossing the southeast of the country.
00:07We're starting to see a little bit of activity up through New South Wales and Queensland.
00:11Meanwhile, things are looking fairly quiet in the west.
00:14In terms of the heat wave at the moment, it is only across the top,
00:17just coming down here into the east, but not very far.
00:21In the southeast, we do have quite a weather system that is developing.
00:24Today, there's nothing heavy unless you're underneath a thunderstorm
00:28or in Tasmania as this part moves through.
00:30So it's mainly the southwestern part of Victoria
00:33and southeast and South Australia that is seeing it.
00:36This one here, here is the heat that's coming down.
00:38So that's the red and the purple colours.
00:40We've got our showers and thunderstorms just out ahead of that,
00:42but a very small signal today that will grow as the days move on
00:46and the trough moves in.
00:48So let's start with this one here.
00:49So here we have a low pressure system that is here by the end of Friday
00:53and there is a cool change that is moving through.
00:56Let's now have a look at Saturday.
00:58That low pressure system is now well offshore.
01:01There's a trough that's running in through here.
01:03So there's a big area of rain that's going to be crossing the southeastern through there.
01:06So we've got this for Friday and we've got this for Saturday
01:10and then we have this, the remains of that on Sunday.
01:13So that is a three-day system as it moves through.
01:16Now let's have a look further north.
01:18As we go into Friday, there's the heat coming down,
01:20our showers and thunderstorms out ahead of it.
01:22We've got that consolidating as we go through the day on Saturday
01:26and then into Sunday, contracting northeastwards as it moves through,
01:30so out of New South Wales, moving out of southeast Queensland
01:33but continuing in through here.
01:35All right, let's now have a look at the other side of the country.
01:38So heading back to Friday, you can see it in the southwest corner there.
01:41We've got a high pressure system that's running in through here.
01:44We've got the start of a trough that's coming down.
01:46Now that trough indicates heat because we've got our northeasterly winds
01:50with the high down there.
01:51So as we go through Saturday, no real wet weather.
01:54It's up in through here.
01:55We're starting to see that trough build there, so temperatures are rising.
01:58And into Sunday, there is our trough right along the coastline there.
02:01So that means no cool changes come in.
02:03That isn't going to come into the middle of next week.
02:06So we do have a bit of a warm-up in the southwest.
02:08Okay, not a lot of wet weather with that one there.
02:11It's still up in the top.
02:12Here we are by Sunday, and I want to now draw your attention to this area here.
02:17Now, high pressure is running in through there, and it's moving in this sort of direction.
02:22So that is going to allow a burst of cold air to come right up from the south.
02:27Now, yes, by Monday, it is the 10th of November, but have a look at this signal here,
02:31the blue and the purples.
02:33That's snow down to 600 metres, 600 metres above sea level.
02:37That's Mount Dandenong in Melbourne.
02:39So it's not there.
02:40It's not quite moving there, but just showing you just how cold,
02:42how much of a cold punch this one does have as it comes through.
02:45Why? Because the high is back through here, and it allows it to push up.
02:49This is the cold side of the high.
02:51This is the warm side of the high, as our winds travel anti-clockwise around high pressure.
02:55So this is coming through.
02:57It has no connection to tropical moisture because the high is in the way,
03:00so it only brings what it has with it in terms of rainfall.
03:03So let's watch that move through.
03:05There's Monday and then into Tuesday, so that quickly moves past,
03:08and the next high comes in.
03:10But in behind that, you'll have clearing skies, you'll have calm winds,
03:13and we're likely to see a frost.
03:15Yes, around the 12th of November, big frost in the southeast.
03:19Okay, so that's that system there.
03:21This is cleared out of here.
03:22Now we're focusing on this.
03:24So let's go back to Monday.
03:25We've still got our heat that's running down through there.
03:27This is starting to come a little bit further south into Tuesday,
03:30just in through here, so not right down in the southwest corner.
03:33There is our trough line, so there is our separation from cool and hot.
03:37So I've still got this heat that's there.
03:39The cool change moves through during the day on Wednesday as all of this gets organized.
03:44So less of a system for the southwest corner.
03:46The wet weather is more inland.
03:48Showers and thunderstorms hit and miss.
03:51All of this here, lovely connection to tropical moisture.
03:54Here we have Wednesday.
03:55We're looking at that moving eastwards on Thursday,
03:58and then it could go anywhere by next Friday.
04:00So the models are not in agreement with where that's going to go yet.
04:04But let's now go back and draw our attention to the southeast.
04:07By Wednesday, that's cleared out of the mainland,
04:10but still heavy going in Tasmania and still quite cold.
04:13Let's look at the next one coming up in through there.
04:15That snow to 600 metres, 900 metres, another cold blast.
04:19That hits Tasmania on Thursday, but it misses Victoria.
04:23So note that Victoria won't get that second.
04:26It's not a one-two punch.
04:27It's just a one punch coming in late Monday into Tuesday,
04:30whereas Tasmania sees it pretty much for the rest of the week.
04:33And then heading to Friday, that system could be going anywhere.
04:36OK, so what might that add up to?
04:38We'd expect lots in through here with that connection to tropical moisture.
04:43In the southeast corner, you've got Friday, Saturday, Sunday,
04:46as that moves through.
04:47Then the next one on Tuesday, no connection to tropical moisture,
04:50so just what it brings with it.
04:51And then another one just in Tasmania later.
04:54Showers and thunderstorms all in through here.
04:56If you are under a storm, it will bring a heavy fall.
04:59And all of that coming into the west, but not quite into the southwest.
05:02As always, head to Farm Online Weather for the latest.
05:05As always, we aim to see the place.
05:06Now we'll find out a DD olhar less.
05:07First give us your face-to-flow.
05:08I'm kind of exploring a horrific,
05:21strange being in the sociedade.
05:21We already know how to transform everything.
05:22Sometimes it's in the water and I'm overboard.
05:23ģ”± severely ŠæŃŠµeming and absurd.
05:24Du говоŃŃ, you want to walk away from Bob or Bruce?
05:25And you walk away from that near the west side.
05:25You're not showing that the first one on Tuesday,
05:27but it's nice too late to drag you down onto your street with your word,
05:27as always elsewhere.
05:28And I keep smiling.
05:29All just at the same time is the people you process.
05:29Well, I always air the quest.
05:31accepted you, as always,
05:33and you know, as always like,
