00:00Pero sometimes tragedy begets tragedy.
00:04En 2020, Dac's brother Jace,
00:07the rock at Peggy's side for her painful descent,
00:10took his own life.
00:15You can't even put in words the burden.
00:19I mean, it's something only Jace knew.
00:21He didn't know how to share it.
00:22He didn't know how to be vulnerable about it.
00:25A difficult truth was laid bare for Dac,
00:27but he shared his pain,
00:31telling all who would listen
00:32that being vulnerable is okay.
00:36Our adversity, our struggles, what we go through
00:39is always going to be too much for ourselves
00:41and maybe too much for even one or two people,
00:43but never, never too much for a community,
00:47for the people and the family that you love.
00:49I've made a promise that his life
00:51will be one taken to save millions.
00:53Starting in July, there will be a new three-digit number
00:55for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
00:58Our curriculum encourages adults
00:59to reach out to young people
01:01struggling with their mental health.
01:02One man helping many turn difficult pages
01:05and add chapters to their lives,
01:09telling those who carry unbelievable burdens,
01:12let me be your story.
01:15Not holding those feelings in,
01:16I think it's huge.
01:17I think it's huge to talk.
01:18I think it's huge to get help.
01:19And it saves lives.
01:23I'm just showing people how to express their adversity
01:26to be allowed to become their strength.
01:29I know my mom, it's what she would want.
