00:00Being a Spice Girl, always celebrating girl power, and of course we missed her.
00:04She's itching to get up there.
00:06So amazing to see you. Thank you so much for shaping my whole life.
00:11The Spice Girls were everything to me and so were you.
00:14I saw you last week at St Paul's Cathedral.
00:17You were absolutely phenomenal.
00:19I said to my friend, she's going to come out in white, and what happened?
00:23I just thought you popped. It was incredible.
00:26How does it feel singing those songs and their meaning so much to people?
00:29Your own songs as well.
00:31I think St Paul's was extra special.
00:34What an incredible setting.
00:36Having the opportunity to perform with a string quartet as well as my own musicians,
00:40it really gave those songs a new life.
00:43They do have so much personal meaning to me.
00:46It was very grand and I was very proud of that moment.
00:49You're very busy at the moment. How are you coping? You're sweating a lot?
00:53I'm constantly breaking a sweat.
00:57Yeah, it's an amazing time. It's great to have new music out.
01:00And then to be invited to an event like this is so wonderful.
01:03There's so many incredible women in that room.
01:05Of course, being a Spice Girl, always celebrating girl power.
01:08Exactly. 30 years later, did you think that you'd all be going your separate ways,
01:11doing your own thing, but then still being the best of friends?
01:14It's so hard, isn't it? Because I think when you're young, you don't really look too far into the future.
01:20And I just think it's a very beautiful time now because, you know, we reflect and look back so fondly
01:26and we're so proud of each other's achievements beyond the band.
01:30Unbelievable. And obviously the beautiful documentaries are coming out with Victoria and everything.
01:35Yeah, yeah.
01:36I've heard you talking about it, but would you like to see a Spice Girls thing?
01:38Yeah.
01:39And what do you think you'd like it to do?
01:41What do you think the message should be?
01:43Oh, my goodness. You know, I think the legacy of the Spice Girls is so positive and I'd love to see a celebration of that.
01:51And it's something that lives on in all of us and I think generations of young women have been affected by it, you know, so it is a very special thing.
01:59Absolutely love it. And in regards to when Victoria put the video up at Oasis, you said that you messaged her straight away.
02:05Yes.
02:06Was it just emojis? Was it WTF? Was it, you know, what did you say?
02:10Well, I said, last time round, it was amazing. And of course we missed her.
02:15She wasn't with us in 2019 when we played WMV Stadium. So I think she's itching to get up there.
02:22No.
02:23Controversial.
