00:00They dropped a bomb on me today.
00:02We had a wedding booked before the full resort buyout.
00:05Crews are working six days a week.
00:07We're now shortening that by a month.
00:09We're going to spend a bunch of extra money
00:10getting to finishing stage while we're not finished anywhere else.
00:14We need to stay open. We need to keep making revenue.
00:17We're not going to make this wedding.
00:19The trades are stressed.
00:20Your guests are like, well, there's trades.
00:22We're at the point where, like, no one is happy.
00:25If we don't shut down the resort,
00:26there is absolutely no way we're going to be ready.
00:30We have to keep moving
00:33at all costs.
00:51So are we going to sit?
00:53I feel like a nice, like, icy margarita.
00:58Do you want to do something like that?
00:58That's it, but it's also pretty epic on the water.
01:01Okay.
01:02Do you want to go for a paddle?
01:07The water is dead calm.
01:08I thought it would be a perfect opportunity
01:10to just get out on the water
01:12into the wild blue yonder.
01:16Maybe say hi to a dolphin,
01:18wave at a manatee, you know,
01:19say hi to the birds
01:20before we get everyone over the finish line
01:22for the wedding.
01:23Actually, it's a pretty relaxed
01:25out here, I must say.
01:26Yeah, it's a beauty day.
01:39The Pines and Palms property
01:41is officially closed to guests.
01:43It means we can really get the trades
01:45just moving as quickly as possible
01:46so that we can make this deadline
01:48for the wedding booking.
01:50It's a huge wedding,
01:52like over 100 people.
01:53As many rooms as we can have available
01:55for them and the pool.
01:57We agreed to compromise.
01:59We've decided that the wedding party
02:01can actually stay in the townhomes,
02:02so those two spaces need to be
02:04completely outfitted and ready,
02:06and then the rest of the guests
02:08will be staying off-site
02:09but using the grounds
02:10at Pines and Palms.
02:13Wedding photos, reception,
02:15actual ceremony
02:16will all happen on property,
02:18so we've really focused
02:19on all the oceanfront,
02:20looking beautiful and spectacular.
02:23How did he die again?
02:26Top right there.
02:27Top right there.
02:28There you go.
02:29It's kissed up by itself.
02:31That's trust right there.
02:33That is trust.
02:36Sarah's really strong.
02:37Yeah.
02:38I work out.
02:41Here, just pretend this is me
02:42at the end of a long day
02:43relaxing on the couch,
02:44and you come in
02:45and push me off the floor.
02:50Oh, boy!
02:52You should try it this time.
02:53Just stand there,
02:54just let it roll off the edge.
02:57No.
02:58I'd like to survive this renovation.
03:00This is starting to feel
03:01a little bit like deja vu.
03:02We've been here before.
03:04This is not the one
03:05that's going to kill me.
03:06If Cerule Lamar did not kill us,
03:09Pines and Poms
03:10definitely won't put us under.
03:12Are you sure?
03:13I'm sure.
03:15We didn't learn, apparently.
03:16We have about a week
03:17until the wedding booking,
03:19and there's still a lot to do.
03:21We have furniture coming in,
03:22which is a great sign,
03:23but we're going to have to hustle.
03:28Okay.
03:29Do that 300 more times.
03:30We raised the roof,
03:41added bathrooms.
03:42You guys are working on
03:43tongue and groove,
03:44I think, right now?
03:44Right, right.
03:45Yeah.
03:46It's the same roof structure.
03:47We just brought it up
03:48to not bump your head here.
03:49It's a good call.
03:50The TNG and all the siding
03:52and trim detail is great, too.
03:53Yeah.
03:53So they did all the stone,
03:55and then you guys carried it
03:56through here into both bathrooms,
03:58just so it's nice and easy,
03:59and then the railings
04:00will actually go all the way around
04:01and tie into the side
04:02of the building.
04:03With this resort previously,
04:06this, I think,
04:07was a huge waste of money.
04:09All right.
04:09A few people would be in the pool,
04:10but the bar was kind of...
04:11Yeah, it wasn't the centerpiece.
04:12It used to just be used
04:13sort of during the day,
04:15like sun loungers.
04:16Yeah.
04:16But now we have
04:17some additional seating
04:18that, like, in the evening,
04:19if you're here,
04:20you can relax at the bar
04:21or sit, stare at the stars.
04:23This is going to be
04:23a sexy spot at night.
04:24Yeah.
04:25The pool and the pool bar
04:26is sort of that communal hub
04:28of the property.
04:29It's where people gather together.
04:31So I think it's important
04:32that we really look
04:33at how we can accommodate
04:34a number of people here
04:36and that it feels relaxed
04:37and casual enough
04:38to spend hours on site here.
04:41So new bar coming along.
04:44Yeah.
04:44Looking good, right?
04:45Overall for the bar,
04:46it really needed a refresh.
04:49It looked like a bit
04:49of a garage sale.
04:50So we want to create
04:52a much more functional area
04:53for the team
04:54to prepare drinks.
04:56But we also want to create
04:57some additional seating
04:58for guests.
04:58So we will do
04:59a separate bench area,
05:01additional tables and dining.
05:03We will include
05:03the fabulous bar stool
05:05sort of bar setup.
05:07I'm really happy
05:07with how this is turning out.
05:09I like that you're happy.
05:10Well, this is one
05:11of the best amenities
05:11other than the ocean.
05:13Yeah, just the view,
05:13the subtle light,
05:14the trees, the pool,
05:16lit up and everything.
05:17It's just,
05:17it's going to have a great vibe.
05:18This pool area
05:19is already attracting
05:21the locals.
05:22We can't get out!
05:25He's our first guest
05:26in the pool.
05:26Sarah, can you jump in
05:28and get him?
05:28No.
05:29Come on!
05:30One of the things
05:31we have in the Florida Keys
05:32are iguanas,
05:33but they are an invasive species.
05:35So a lot of people
05:36don't like to see them.
05:37You go to the stairs.
05:38You really want to get them?
05:39Yeah.
05:40I'm here to help.
05:41I, on the other hand,
05:43enjoy seeing them.
05:43They look very friendly.
05:44They look fun.
05:45Yeah, we got them.
05:46We're just saving them.
05:47This is when I know
05:48I should not be here.
05:50Sarah!
05:51Hi, buddy!
05:52Sarah loves lizards,
05:54so when I see one,
05:55I know she wants to pet it.
05:56I like him facing you.
05:58You're going to hold him?
05:59Hey, he's going to bite you.
06:00They're friendly.
06:01They have kind of serrated jaws,
06:03but they don't have teeth.
06:05This is your 15 minutes, buddy.
06:06Do it.
06:08He needs to go.
06:09He's not hurting anyone.
06:10Well, he doesn't like you.
06:12I was actually pretty surprised
06:14that Sarah wanted to
06:15hold the iguana.
06:16Say hello and make a friend
06:18and then set it free.
06:20Okay.
06:20Very calm.
06:23I took,
06:24I released,
06:25so that we can get back to work.
06:29All right.
06:32The big focus right now
06:46is completing the townhouses,
06:47and there's a significant amount
06:49of work left to do.
06:51Doors are a big upgrade, too.
06:52The doors,
06:54the windows.
06:54It's like fresh paint
06:56and LVP.
06:57Flooring cabinets.
07:08I love this time.
07:10Why do I like this time so much?
07:11Because it's right before the chaos.
07:15Before the chaos?
07:17I think we've seen a lot of chaos.
07:18It's in the chaos.
07:19This is one of our core differences.
07:21Sarah loves
07:22the absolute
07:24let's go 24-7.
07:26I don't love it.
07:27Let's burn it to the ground.
07:28Let's lose our minds.
07:30You thrive.
07:31Sometimes things around you
07:33do not thrive
07:34in that situation.
07:36Seven days.
07:39Yes.
07:41I'm looking around here.
07:42We need...
07:43Almost six.
07:44Electrical trims finished.
07:46Hardware.
07:47Have we got door hardware
07:48for all the cabinets?
07:49Coming.
07:50This is...
07:51I won't lie.
07:52This needs to be dealt with.
07:53This surprise buyout
07:54is...
07:56Because it was sort of like
07:58here we go.
07:59A surprise.
08:00It means we've had to like
08:02pull things out
08:03of different orders,
08:04scramble to get things here
08:05instead of it being
08:06all in one shipment.
08:08In a perfect scenario
08:08you don't want to separate
08:09furniture orders,
08:11lighting orders,
08:11accessory orders,
08:12but that's what we're doing
08:13because of this
08:14surprise booking.
08:16Well we are
08:17bringing in furniture
08:18just for two specific units
08:20instead of being ready
08:21to bring in the furniture
08:22for the entire property.
08:23So all of that
08:24comes at a cost.
08:25This will have furniture
08:27arriving 24 hours
08:29before guests arrive.
08:30This is not going to be
08:31an easy like
08:33oh we're ready
08:34and we have a week
08:34to think about it.
08:36It's going to be like
08:37the night before the wedding
08:38you and I are going to be
08:39finishing some of the
08:40final touches for sure.
08:42Oh I can't see you
08:42the night before the wedding
08:43I'm sorry.
08:45It's a rule.
08:46They need a head in bed
08:48so beds we can give them.
08:51Do you want to go
08:51check up upstairs as well?
08:52Yep.
08:53We have drapery
08:54going in this week,
08:55furniture,
08:55the rest of the light fixtures.
08:57Okay.
08:57That's coming 48 hours
08:59before the wedding.
09:01Look at all the millwork.
09:03I love the millwork.
09:05There's a lot of furniture
09:06to come up here.
09:06We have all the hardware
09:07to install.
09:08Normally I would walk
09:09in there and say
09:10okay we're two to three
09:11weeks out from occupancy
09:12but within a week
09:14we have to finish
09:15all those small items
09:16but Sarah also has
09:18to furnish these places.
09:19Get the window dressings up.
09:21Seven days.
09:23That's how many hours?
09:25Oh.
09:26Don't count the hours.
09:26Yeah.
09:27Subtract 56 to sleep maybe.
09:30No one needs to sleep.
09:31I like this.
09:35You like the double vanity?
09:37Yeah.
09:38And the tub?
09:39And the tub.
09:40We pushed out the shower,
09:42right?
09:42We made it larger
09:43so we could add the bench
09:44and really create
09:45sort of a focal feature
09:46and then...
09:46Do we have glass
09:47going in there or no?
09:49Eventually, yes.
09:50We still have our mirror.
09:51Yes.
09:52Not sure what happened here
09:53but we'll have to get
09:54that fixed.
09:55Mudded, taped.
09:56I believe the wedding party,
09:58the ladies are getting ready here.
10:00So we have just a vanity
10:02little makeup area.
10:03We'll get mirrors up,
10:04lights up, drapery up
10:05and a few accessories.
10:07Seven days.
10:09I know.
10:09I know.
10:10I'm hoping the second townhouse
10:12is a little farther ahead.
10:13We can hope.
10:16We need a little
10:17anti-squeak on the door.
10:19That's okay.
10:21It's all part
10:22of the finishing session.
10:27This actually looks
10:28a little farther ahead
10:29than next door.
10:31You think so?
10:32Well, just because
10:32electrical trims are on.
10:34Oh.
10:34That's about it.
10:35Well, I just want to
10:36check out the tub
10:37and see how that went.
10:38Okay.
10:39It's natural to feel
10:40behind the eight ball
10:41and I think Brian and I
10:42both feel that way today.
10:44Let's go to the bathroom.
10:51This one has the tub.
10:52Now we're tubbing.
10:55Well, this one,
10:56we raised the ceiling.
10:57Yep.
10:58And then there was debate,
11:00tub or no tub.
11:01So we've offered both options.
11:04So if you rent one unit
11:05or the other.
11:05This is giving me
11:06Wilford Brimley
11:06cocoon vibes.
11:08The aliens in the cocoon
11:12and they rejuvenate.
11:13I look for words like,
11:14it looks tranquil.
11:15It looks like a spa.
11:16It looks like a high-end resort.
11:19It looks like Wilford Brimley.
11:22It doesn't look like
11:23Wilford Brimley.
11:24Just imagine him crawling.
11:25Anyway.
11:26All right.
11:26I'm just going to let
11:27that one go.
11:28All right.
11:29Yeah.
11:29Light fixtures,
11:30mirrors, towel bars, hooks.
11:32We got a little drywall work.
11:34We still have vent cover
11:35to go in.
11:35We still have transitions
11:36to do walls that need
11:38to be like mudded
11:39and touched up like there.
11:41We better get to work.
11:43If we keep up with this pace,
11:45I am confident.
11:46Long days ahead.
11:48There's a lot of work to do.
11:49Yeah.
11:50I'm confident we'll get this done.
11:52Get to work.
11:53No, I mean,
11:54there's a lot to happen still.
11:56Seven days.
11:58Stop saying that.
11:59Seven days.
12:06There's a significant amount
12:13of work to do
12:13in seven days.
12:15Someone has to do it.
12:17I've got to find
12:18someone around here
12:20that's going to do it.
12:22Sarah!
12:22Sarah!
12:28Normally on such a busy day,
12:30I wouldn't stop,
12:31but we need to get back out
12:32and do some ordering
12:33of our outdoor furniture
12:34before the wedding.
12:35We really have to get
12:36some things placed
12:37and ordered
12:38or it won't arrive in time.
12:40This is beautiful.
12:41Thank you so much.
12:42This is like an exhale moment.
12:44It is the most calming space.
12:53Is this the Pacific?
12:54This is Pacific in the teak.
12:56Oh, these are all gorgeous.
12:57I'm going to take a few minutes
13:02and just wander
13:03and then maybe put
13:04a little list together for you.
13:05Does that work?
13:06Perfect.
13:06Now I have to look
13:07at these cabanas.
13:08Yes.
13:09Check this one out.
13:15This is my little moment
13:16of calm
13:17because the reality is
13:18when I return to site,
13:19I know it will be
13:20a little bit frantic
13:21and chaotic.
13:22This is nice too.
13:27We got all the soundproofing.
13:34Yep.
13:34We've installed
13:35the soundproofing panel
13:36in between all the units.
13:38It's quiet.
13:39You go in a room
13:40and drop something,
13:41it's like deadening.
13:43Prices are going up here.
13:44There's a lot of money
13:44being spent,
13:45so you don't want
13:45to hear the people next door
13:46burping and farting
13:48and yelling at each other.
13:49That's a huge upgrade
13:50unto itself.
13:52They're making
13:52some progress in here.
13:53Yeah, we're getting
13:54sheetrocked, tiles downstairs.
13:56We got the new
13:57air conditioning units
13:58in here.
13:59Yep.
13:59It was supposed to be
14:00take it out,
14:01put it back in.
14:01They already had
14:02new single units.
14:03Yeah.
14:03And then we realized
14:04the rooms are closed off,
14:06so now you need two heads
14:07and it really wasn't
14:08in the budget.
14:09When you're working
14:09on a property like this,
14:11if you have to buy
14:11one air conditioner
14:12for one room,
14:13you have to buy
14:1436 of them.
14:15If you have to buy two,
14:16all of a sudden it's 72,
14:17so things compound
14:18really fast.
14:19You're racking up
14:20the labor rates.
14:21The numbers get big
14:22very fast.
14:24But we still got to get
14:25final coats on,
14:26sanded, prime paint.
14:28Trim's got to go in.
14:30Definitely crunch time.
14:31Okay.
14:32So you're feeling good?
14:34I don't know about that.
14:35What do you feel?
14:36Uh, stressed, yes.
14:37Talking to Joe,
14:39I can see the stress
14:40on his face.
14:41I've been there
14:41many times.
14:42The deadlines are looming.
14:44It's a stressful situation.
14:45I can tell that it's
14:46starting to take a toll
14:47on everybody.
14:54How are we making out
14:55with the Singer Island
14:56clients?
14:57Driving back and forth
14:58to site,
14:59I enjoy using my time
15:01in the car
15:01and multitasking
15:03and trying to get
15:04some calls in
15:05with the team.
15:05And is that,
15:06what's their timeline
15:07on that end of the week?
15:08So although Pines and Palms
15:09is taking a great deal
15:10of our time,
15:10we also have other
15:11client projects
15:12that I want to make sure
15:13we're staying on top of.
15:15Oh, I know who this is.
15:17Hello?
15:18Hey.
15:19Hi, sweetie.
15:19So there's a hurricane
15:21coming.
15:21It's a cat one right now.
15:22Yes.
15:23Potentially going to have
15:24the, like, backside
15:25of this hurricane
15:27slash tropical storm
15:29tomorrow.
15:29It's going to hit
15:30Tallahassee.
15:31At this time of the year,
15:32storm season
15:33is always a worry
15:34for everyone.
15:35We talk about
15:36being prepared
15:36whatever side
15:38of the coast you're on.
15:39It's on the west coast,
15:40right?
15:41Yeah, it's on the west coast.
15:42They said we're going to
15:42hit the outer bands of it.
15:44We had all of those
15:44deliveries at Pines and Palms.
15:46Like, it's, it's...
15:47Yeah.
15:48We have a hurricane coming.
15:50Things are hectic.
15:51Call you later.
15:52Bye.
15:53You need to take
15:54every indication
15:55that there could be
15:56a hurricane very seriously.
15:58We have to be prepared
15:59at a moment's notice.
16:08Well, it's nice today,
16:10but it's been, uh,
16:11been a pretty interesting
16:12couple of months.
16:14Yep.
16:14A couple of storms.
16:15We have all the inspections
16:16done on the
16:17hurricane-proof stuff, right?
16:18Yes.
16:19We've had a couple
16:19of serious weather events
16:21here in Florida
16:21in the past couple of months,
16:22so you have to
16:23constantly be prepared,
16:24especially with
16:25a hospitality business,
16:27because it's not just
16:28you and the buildings,
16:29it's all the guests
16:30that are here as well.
16:31All these posts,
16:32high beams, everything
16:32got re-poured
16:33into all of these buildings,
16:34right?
16:35Yep.
16:35They crumbled apart
16:36once the old windows
16:37came out.
16:38Hurricane glass.
16:39Yes.
16:39Now we've got
16:40that impact rating.
16:42We don't have to worry
16:42about putting up shutters,
16:43which is great.
16:44Building or renovating
16:45to modern, you know,
16:47hurricane-rated standards
16:49is a lot more expensive
16:50than just your
16:50average construction.
16:52You're looking at
16:52impact-rated glass,
16:54which means not necessarily
16:55that the glass won't break,
16:57but that if you're inside
16:59and the coconut is coming
17:00at you at 150 miles an hour,
17:01it's not coming
17:02through the window.
17:03Now we've got
17:03all these roofs
17:04strapped down,
17:06all the beams,
17:07all the posts redone.
17:08Yep.
17:08Tying the roof down
17:10and the walls together
17:11to prevent uplift
17:12so that heavy winds
17:14don't come in
17:14and rip the roof
17:15off the building
17:16and take the walls away,
17:17which means that
17:17these buildings
17:18will not only survive
17:19if a hurricane comes in,
17:20but they could be
17:21a safe place
17:21to shelter as well.
17:23So now we're ready
17:24for a big hit.
17:25Hopefully not,
17:26but yeah,
17:27we're ready if it does.
17:28Even after spending
17:30all this money
17:31and doing all the extra work
17:32to hurricane-proof
17:33these buildings,
17:33the best case scenario
17:35is that we never
17:36have to rely on that.
17:37So that's one thing
17:38off the list.
17:40One.
17:40We just have 80
17:42or 90 other things
17:42and we just have to hope
17:44the sky stays nice and clear.
17:45So how are you feeling
17:59with all the progress
18:00and everything happening so far?
18:01It's a lot to bite off.
18:02It's a heavy ask.
18:04We've already, what,
18:05more than doubled the budget?
18:06It's already eclipsed.
18:07Since the project started
18:08here at Pines and Palms,
18:09a lot of decisions
18:10have been made
18:11that significantly increased
18:13the scope of work.
18:14To get it all together,
18:16we're pulling people off.
18:17I'm assuming we can't
18:18be doing work
18:19during the wedding.
18:19Absolutely, right.
18:20Behind the line.
18:21We're going to have to pull
18:23landscaping into this whole area.
18:25Those plants are expensive enough.
18:26I don't want everybody
18:26trampling on them.
18:27Get the linens in.
18:28The buildings have to be painted.
18:29They want good backdrops
18:30for all their photos.
18:31This is an old property
18:33in the Keys
18:33and there's a lot of money
18:35to spend to bring this up
18:36to a welcoming property
18:38for guests
18:38but also make it safe and legal.
18:41I'm assuming this buyer,
18:42we have to look at it
18:43as a marketing expense
18:44because it's not going
18:45to be a moneymaker.
18:46No, we made the commitment
18:47to do it.
18:47We kind of have to come together
18:49and make sure that happens.
18:51We're losing a few teeth.
18:52Yeah.
18:53Yeah.
18:54All right.
18:54I wish the bar was open already
18:56to be honest.
18:58We're going to get it
18:58by lightning, Charlie.
18:59When we get notification
19:06that there could be
19:07a Category 1 hurricane,
19:08it's important that we all
19:10sort of band together.
19:11There's a ton of trades
19:12on site that all have families
19:14and homes that they need
19:15to protect.
19:15So I think as a group,
19:17we all just agreed
19:18it's time to close site down.
19:21It focuses on everyone's
19:22personal well-being.
19:23Yeah.
19:24Not helping the schedule
19:25for the wedding,
19:26but it has to happen.
19:28We've done everything
19:32we can do here.
19:33We need to pay attention
19:35to some of the other balls
19:36that are in the air.
19:37I'm going to head home
19:38and check on the kids.
19:40I'm going to head to the office
19:41and make sure the team
19:42from West Palm
19:43can still keep things
19:44moving on site.
19:48It's a great time for me
19:49just to check in,
19:50make sure we're moving forward
19:51with other projects.
19:52We have a marketing team there
19:54that helps with the offerings
19:55at Cerulamar.
19:56The more we can tie into
19:58the roots of Andros
19:59and our belief
20:01in that community,
20:02the better.
20:03Okay.
20:03I definitely see
20:04another necklace
20:05because I would love
20:06to do something
20:07in the shape
20:07of the coral reef.
20:09Oh, pretty.
20:09And tie that in
20:10for the sugar scraps.
20:12I just want you
20:12to smell this
20:13because this is one
20:14that we've been
20:14playing around with.
20:16Brian and I want
20:16to look further
20:17into whether or not
20:19those coconuts
20:19that just fall
20:20and deteriorate
20:21on our property,
20:21if we can start
20:22to actually use
20:23that oil
20:23and have Sharon,
20:25who's one of the women
20:26that makes coconut oils,
20:27bring it back
20:28and use it
20:29for our sugar scrubs.
20:30But I would love
20:30to the team
20:31to just work
20:31on some marketing.
20:32Okay, that's great.
20:33Does that make sense?
20:33Yep.
20:34Timelines.
20:35Yesterday.
20:38You're killing me.
20:40I'm not.
20:40It's all exciting.
20:41We do have
20:42a lot of other things
20:44on the go.
20:44We don't burn
20:45the candle
20:46at both ends.
20:47Our candles
20:48are just
20:49in a melted heap
20:50and the entire thing
20:51is on fire.
20:52That's kind of
20:53how we roll.
21:03Working with Q
21:04is definitely bonding time.
21:06I think every parent's goal
21:07is to look at your kid
21:08when they're 20
21:08and think they're
21:09cooler than I was,
21:11they're more skilled
21:11than I was.
21:12Yeah, I still have
21:13a few tricks up my sleeve,
21:14though.
21:15Keep going.
21:16The lift will roll
21:17underneath the engine.
21:20A thing of beauty.
21:22Quint is starting
21:23a boat rental
21:24and charter business
21:25in the Bahamas,
21:26which I think is great.
21:26So we're taking
21:27the little boat
21:28that we bought.
21:29We've put a new motor
21:30on it.
21:30We've fixed it up.
21:31So you've got to
21:32slide it in.
21:35Up a little bit.
21:36Yeah, that should be good.
21:38If you're there,
21:38we're good.
21:39He's got so many
21:40opportunities ahead of him,
21:41but we want him
21:41to take that next step,
21:43open a business,
21:44just get more experience
21:46and really discover
21:48who he is
21:48and what he wants to do.
21:49Give me a quick rundown
21:50of your business plan.
21:51Well, there's been
21:52a lot of people asking
21:52about boat rentals.
21:54Yeah.
21:54So there's definitely
21:55a demand for it.
21:56I think we can offer
21:57half day and full day.
21:59So when someone rents this
22:00and they're out
22:00on the west side
22:01of the island
22:01where there's
22:02no cell service,
22:03they run on the gas,
22:04they run up on shore.
22:05We can put tracks
22:06in the GPS
22:06and say you can follow
22:07these tracks
22:08and go where
22:09these tracks are.
22:09Yeah.
22:10And we can run
22:11as far as we would
22:12be comfortable
22:12as I'm going.
22:13So all that stuff
22:13you have to think about.
22:14It's all got to be
22:15compliant to your insurance.
22:16He's got a good head
22:17on his shoulders.
22:18He's responsible
22:19and safe.
22:20He does know a lot.
22:21I mean, he's come
22:22a long way.
22:22Somebody taught him.
22:25Okay.
22:26Well, let's get this mounted.
22:27Let's get the rest
22:27of the electrical done.
22:28Let's get this thing
22:29cleaned up
22:29and put it to work.
22:31Have it in Bahamas soon.
22:32You guys have been busy.
22:40All this is new planting.
22:41Yeah.
22:42We got lighting in even.
22:44We dodged a bullet here.
22:46The storm wasn't as bad
22:47as they had anticipated.
22:48We did lose a few days.
22:50So everyone needs
22:51to get back on site
22:52and just push forward
22:53as quick as we can.
22:54We have designated
22:56drive in, drive out,
22:57the loop.
22:58So it's more kid friendly
22:59for kids to run around
23:00and play.
23:00The original way
23:02the Pines and Palms
23:03property was set up
23:04was that people
23:04could drive around
23:05the entire property
23:06and park their cars
23:07right in front
23:08of their independent villas.
23:10We have worked
23:10with the landscape architect
23:11to revamp
23:13creating family friendly,
23:14kid friendly areas.
23:16From a safety perspective,
23:17I think it's really important,
23:18but I also think
23:19it changes the overall feel.
23:21It's now a moment of
23:22you walk to your villa,
23:24you relax on the front porch
23:25and you can appreciate
23:26mother nature
23:27and your kids
23:28can roam freely.
23:29Are we doing
23:30any type of distinction
23:32between where it's like
23:33pathway versus planting?
23:34So everyone's just not
23:35cutting right through
23:36the garden?
23:36Yeah, all the garden beds
23:38are going to get
23:38more dirt and then mulch.
23:41Okay.
23:41And then the edges
23:42actually has a little
23:43of grass.
23:44Got it.
23:45So that'll be the divider.
23:46So realistically,
23:46this is path
23:47that we're looking at
23:48right here.
23:49Yep, and just the beach
23:50sand for the pathway.
23:51Quentin has grown up so fast.
23:59I mean, 20 years
24:00has gone by in a blink.
24:01I can't believe it.
24:03So it's pretty exciting
24:04that we're seeing him,
24:06you know, show interest
24:07in and join the family business.
24:09I think Sarah and I
24:09both look at
24:11Cyril Lamar
24:12and the potential
24:13600 acre project.
24:15I think it's a family legacy.
24:18That should fit.
24:19Looks like a little boat.
24:21It does.
24:22Listening to Quentin
24:23and Charlotte
24:24and Lincoln and Josephine,
24:26their faces light up
24:27when they talk about
24:27their time on the island.
24:28So I think for them
24:29to be involved
24:30in a different way
24:31as they now mature
24:32and eventually into adulthood
24:34and with their own families,
24:35I think there's
24:36that feeling
24:38that we would love
24:38to be able to provide this
24:39for multiple generations to come.
24:41I remember doing this stuff
24:42with my dad, with Opa.
24:43Yeah.
24:44There was a lot more yelling.
24:46That'll come later.
24:48Perfect.
24:48It's not yet.
24:50How many people
24:50work with their parents?
24:52It's just, yeah.
24:54It can go one of two ways.
25:02We're only a couple
25:03of days out
25:04from this wedding
25:04and there is a ton
25:06of work that needs to happen.
25:07Feeling a little nervous,
25:08a little apprehensive.
25:09So, power.
25:13Fingers crossed
25:14for this wedding
25:14that this is all lit.
25:16Making me nervous.
25:17We're still short railings,
25:19cabana baths to be finished.
25:21We still have to paint
25:22all the exterior
25:23of these units.
25:24Push on.
25:25Push on, Joe.
25:27All right.
25:27A few of the beach
25:43cabanas here
25:44and that umbrella.
25:45That's my husband.
25:48He's late to work today.
25:50Brian is back
25:56and he's brought
25:57Quentin with him.
25:58It's time for them
25:58to get to work.
26:00I know,
26:01you're cursing
26:01your mom right now.
26:03Yeah.
26:04You know how many boxes
26:05there are here?
26:07You're a good kid.
26:08The entire pool area
26:19is starting to look incredible.
26:20One of the things
26:20I'm most excited about
26:21is the railings
26:23that are going up.
26:24But once those glass panels
26:26are in
26:26and the LED strips
26:27around the top,
26:28this is going to create
26:29that South Florida vibe.
26:31This is going to look incredible.
26:33Once it's all lit
26:34and the glass is in,
26:35I can't wait to see it.
26:36At least I get
26:38the nice view
26:39while I tick things
26:41off our list here.
26:44So when is all this
26:46supposed to be ready?
26:4724 hours.
26:48Your 24 hours
26:49or actually 24 hours?
26:51Actually 24 hours.
26:52Like tomorrow morning?
26:53Yeah.
26:55So I hope you don't
26:56want to sleep tonight.
26:58Why can't anything
26:59be a month
26:59or two months?
27:01Even a week
27:01would be nice.
27:06I got this palm tree
27:13in my face.
27:13These are problems
27:14you don't have at home.
27:16Not that I'm complaining.
27:19Install.
27:24See?
27:25That wasn't so bad
27:26after all.
27:27Do you see here?
27:2976 of 770 boxes.
27:32That's not a few.
27:33Okay.
27:34Well, when we do
27:34the next hotel,
27:35your siblings can help.
27:41The wedding booking
27:42is just around the corner.
27:43So we need to get
27:44the furniture built
27:45and set up now.
27:53Gonna be gorgeous.
27:55Do you want to hold this?
27:56We'll just make sure
27:57we're good.
27:57I'm totally in
27:58his drywall desk.
28:12Katie and Rainy
28:12are going to walk
28:13through the first townhouse.
28:14I'm excited
28:15for their reaction.
28:16I hope they love
28:17the transformation
28:18as much as I do.
28:19My gosh.
28:20I'm so excited.
28:22Oh.
28:24My gosh.
28:26Wow.
28:26I love it.
28:39This is absolutely stunning.
28:41Originally,
28:42there were two large sofas.
28:44We've now paired
28:45that back to one sofa
28:46and these beautiful
28:47two green chairs.
28:49We've done some fun pops
28:50with little poofs
28:51that can be interchanged
28:52room to room.
28:53I'm really happy
28:54that we went with
28:55this color scheme, too.
28:57It's gorgeous.
28:58Oh, my God.
28:58Look at the rug, Rainy.
28:59It's remarkable.
29:01The partners really
29:02wanted to keep
29:03a color scheme
29:04that just felt
29:05pretty neutral,
29:06soft,
29:07sandy undertones.
29:08The thing with the hotel
29:10is you don't want
29:11it too trendy
29:12because it will be
29:13outdated before you're
29:14ready to redo it.
29:16And these bar stools
29:17are just fantastic.
29:19I love them.
29:24The kitchen looks
29:25completely different
29:26just by removing
29:26that large bulkhead.
29:28It opens up your sight line
29:30so that you can see
29:30right out to the ocean.
29:33Oh, so nice.
29:34And Katie,
29:35as a mom,
29:36you know,
29:37I just picture
29:37the kids coming in here
29:38and prepping lunch,
29:40dinner.
29:41I wouldn't mind
29:41doing dishes
29:42and cooking in here
29:43if this is my view.
29:45Everywhere you look,
29:47it's just opened up
29:48tremendously.
29:52We still incorporated
29:53a dining table
29:54for six
29:55so that it can expand
29:57with the number
29:57of guests staying
29:58in this property.
29:59For the dining area
30:00as well,
30:01we actually ripped out
30:02all of these windows
30:03and replaced them.
30:04We've done this
30:04beautiful black trim
30:06which modernizes
30:06them as well.
30:10So nice.
30:11I cannot wait
30:12to see upstairs.
30:13Let's go.
30:18The primary bedroom,
30:20we want it to feel
30:20open and airy
30:22and bright.
30:23My breath away
30:23every time.
30:24Oh, the view.
30:25Oh, my gosh.
30:28This is going
30:29to be quite literally
30:30the most perfect way
30:31to wake up.
30:31Wake up?
30:32And watch the sunrise
30:32right there.
30:33It's beautiful.
30:34We have a beautiful
30:37bed here
30:38with a gorgeous
30:38headboard,
30:39nightstands,
30:40beautiful table lamps.
30:42I just love
30:42that we have rugs
30:43in the room.
30:44Like, they look
30:45so nice.
30:45The simple things.
30:46Right, well,
30:46it just completes it.
30:47There's pillows, too.
30:48Yeah.
30:49Imagine that.
30:50It looks so good.
30:53Oh, my gosh.
30:56I'm actually speechless
31:01right now.
31:01I think the en suite
31:04has had the biggest
31:06transformation.
31:08It was very outdated
31:09with the blue tile,
31:10and I think just by
31:12pulling all of that out,
31:13by creating this beautiful
31:15area for the soaker tub
31:16that overlooks the ocean.
31:18I mean, who has a view
31:20from their tub?
31:21That is so gorgeous.
31:24It looks so good.
31:25I love the pops
31:26of green.
31:28Reconfiguring
31:28and expanding
31:29the shower.
31:30This was a wall.
31:31They took down
31:31this whole wall.
31:33I mean, we have a view
31:34from the shower.
31:35I can't get over
31:36how good this looks.
31:38I think this is
31:38a night and day
31:39transformation.
31:40It feels more contemporary,
31:45more modern.
31:46We've really just
31:47brought this property
31:48back to life.
31:52And it really does feel
31:53now like a home
31:54away from home.
31:58If the whole resort
32:00looks half as good
32:01as this,
32:02we're in good hands.
32:03It's going to be amazing.
32:10What are we looking
32:22at here?
32:24This.
32:25So what's wrong
32:26with this?
32:26This is just
32:27pressure treated
32:28that has a bunch
32:28of stuff on it.
32:30Sarah wants to replace
32:32some pressure treated
32:33deck boards
32:34with epe or teak.
32:36There's definitely
32:37a time where,
32:38you know,
32:39you do need
32:39a shower of reality
32:41where, you know,
32:43you just have
32:44to get things done.
32:45We can do better
32:46than this.
32:47This is not worth
32:48an $800 epe deck.
32:50I know that hurts.
32:52It's not the money
32:53when I create something
32:54or have a plan
32:55and a vision.
32:56I want to be able
32:57to fully execute that
32:58to the best
32:59of our abilities.
33:00I'm going to execute it.
33:01I just want it
33:02to look finished.
33:03This is like
33:04we needed a solution
33:05and threw some PT on it.
33:07Here, I grabbed
33:08some stain
33:09and I'm going
33:10to attempt
33:11to win over Sarah
33:13by staining these boards
33:15and hopefully
33:15she's okay
33:16with the look.
33:16So can we just,
33:17can we try this
33:18and see if it works
33:19and if it does work
33:20we'll get the painters
33:20to do it?
33:21Well, we need
33:21to sand it all too.
33:23Well, I mean,
33:23we will,
33:25but right now
33:26we just want
33:26to check the color.
33:27And like these
33:27should all be filled?
33:28No, they shouldn't.
33:30It's all going
33:30to gray out, Sarah.
33:31This is like
33:32a beach shower.
33:33Brian is selling
33:34this as a genius idea
33:36to stain
33:37the pressure-treated wood.
33:40Oh my God.
33:41Look at that.
33:43Fresh teak.
33:48Can I take a little off?
33:49Oh, it looks so good.
33:56I think, Sarah,
33:57that I have once again
33:59come up with
34:00a pretty darn
34:01tootin' good solution here.
34:04From a distance,
34:05if you're not looking
34:06directly at it,
34:07it will look
34:08just like Ipe.
34:09And it'll be about
34:10a thousand bucks cheaper.
34:13Now, I can see
34:14the bracing.
34:16Once I get
34:17my little sponge in there.
34:18Look, you don't see
34:19the bracing anymore.
34:21I think this is
34:22a fabulous solution.
34:24What's this do?
34:27You got it
34:28on this dome here.
34:29What's this do?
34:31I hear you.
34:32I see you.
34:34I notice
34:35every little detail.
34:37Will a guest?
34:38Oh, look at it
34:39lighting up.
34:40This is really now
34:41an architectural detail
34:42here is what I'd call this.
34:45Let me stand back.
34:46It looks better.
34:55Yeah, look,
34:56it even matches this.
34:57Not quite, but...
34:58Oh, you can say it.
35:00It's not teak.
35:01I'm amazing.
35:02It will be
35:03a short-term solution.
35:06We'll give him that.
35:09It's not Ipe.
35:10It's not natural teak.
35:12Is it something?
35:13Yes.
35:14It's fabulous, really.
35:36If I know
35:37we have a deadline,
35:39I will do everything
35:39humanly possible
35:40to deliver on that.
35:42It is always
35:43a little bit stressful,
35:44but I thrive
35:45in this environment.
35:52Okay, so I need
35:52to find
35:53transformers.
35:55Okay, we got
35:56an extension cord.
35:58I apologize
35:59to whoever's
35:59extension cord this is,
36:01but I need
36:02to see the lights.
36:04This is one
36:04of those things
36:05I'm thinking
36:06I should have
36:07figured out
36:08before it got dark.
36:13Why did they not
36:14light under here,
36:15though?
36:17Nobody panic.
36:21I will panic.
36:25Oh, no.
36:26There's a plug.
36:26We can extend.
36:27We can fix.
36:28That's just the way
36:30it has to be done.
36:32Okay, let's see
36:33if this works.
36:34Allow there
36:35to be light.
36:38Oh, that is
36:40beautiful.
36:44How's the white look?
36:45Oh, white looks good.
36:47Yellow,
36:47a little yellow action.
36:49I like it.
36:57Looks like I showed
36:58up just at the wrong time.
37:00Just at the right time.
37:01Brian hates
37:02the last finishing stage
37:05when everything
37:06is coming in
37:06and there is a lot
37:07of that push,
37:08push, push.
37:09I don't like that stage
37:10at all.
37:11You want these
37:11all unwrapped
37:12and everything?
37:13Or is that,
37:14like, final moment?
37:15This is the final moment.
37:16Oh, yeah,
37:17so we're unwrapping these?
37:18Wrap absolutely anything.
37:20Sometimes in life
37:21you're put in that position
37:22and you can either sink
37:24or you can swim.
37:25I think there's people
37:25that enjoy it.
37:26And that's the deadline.
37:28We have to go with it.
37:29How do you find
37:29the end of these?
37:31Why don't they mark it?
37:32There's another color.
37:33Oh, there is a sticker.
37:36Okay.
37:38But they wrap it
37:40the long way.
37:41Well, it's going
37:41to take forever.
37:42I can deliver
37:43in the 11th hour.
37:45Yes, I will not disappoint
37:46a bride on her wedding day.
37:48Oh, you look
38:01like a bride.
38:02Mm.
38:03I can trust
38:04if I'm looking
38:05for an extra set of hands.
38:06Brian wants to deliver
38:08just like I do.
38:10Presumptuous.
38:11You need to grate
38:12some cheese?
38:13It's going to be
38:14a long night.
38:15What?
38:16It said it's going
38:16to be a long night.
38:19Buckle up, butter tub.
38:19But it's going
38:20to be a real slice.
38:22Don't beat me.
38:24Gladly.
38:25What a crazy mashup.
38:27Huh?
38:27It is always
38:43a little bit stressful
38:44when we're awaiting
38:45a bride and groom,
38:46of course.
38:46But it's getting close now
38:48so I can see
38:49the finish line.
38:50I'm so nervous.
38:55So nervous to the wedding.
38:57What's going to happen?
38:58What's she going
38:58to be wearing?
38:59You love wedding.
39:00Is he going to cry?
39:01Will anyone yell out
39:03when they ask
39:03if does anyone
39:04have anything to say?
39:05They don't do that anymore.
39:06Why not?
39:06You're dating yourself.
39:07No, that's...
39:08For Townhouse 26,
39:14Mike and I,
39:15on the very early days
39:16here on property,
39:17I remember standing
39:18in the kitchen with him.
39:19Instead of doing
39:20a downdraft for the range,
39:21my question was
39:22whether or not
39:23we'd be able to switch.
39:24I prefer the view,
39:25obviously.
39:26The view is nice.
39:27We don't want
39:27to lose the view.
39:31And now to be back
39:32in this space
39:33fully transformed,
39:35I think it's come
39:35a long way.
39:38Again, we kept
39:41a very similar
39:42color scheme
39:43of just these natural
39:45raw materials
39:46and sandy undertones
39:47of colors.
39:48The goal is to
39:50close this up.
39:51We would like
39:52to create a bedroom.
39:53For this townhome,
39:54originally the dining room
39:56was in the back
39:57of the unit.
39:58We've taken that space
39:59back and created
40:00an additional bedroom.
40:02I've moved the dining room
40:03to the side of the kitchen.
40:04And at the golden hour,
40:06as the sun is setting,
40:07you just have
40:08this beautiful
40:08resort view
40:09where you see
40:09the ocean
40:10and the beach
40:11and the pool.
40:12It really is spectacular.
40:19Every single room
40:20now has a standardized
40:21cabinet,
40:23desk area,
40:24and again,
40:25a gorgeous deck.
40:26Whichever unit you choose,
40:27you are getting
40:28the most spectacular
40:29view of the ocean.
40:31For the primary en-suite,
40:33we really ripped it
40:34back to the studs.
40:35We got rid of
40:36all of the outdated tile.
40:37And most importantly here,
40:42we reconfigured
40:43the position
40:43of the toilet.
40:44I don't know
40:45who thought this
40:46was convenient,
40:47but I think some
40:48of my kids
40:48would think it's hilarious.
40:50But now we have
40:50a beautiful double vanity.
40:52It works so much better.
40:54And in this unit,
40:55we actually
40:55replaced the bathtub
40:57with sort of
40:58a dressing table.
40:59It's the perfect
41:00bridal makeup station.
41:03You have so much
41:09natural light,
41:10so designing this space
41:11was actually pretty easy
41:13because Mother Nature
41:14did most of the work.
41:16The goal here
41:18wasn't to rip down
41:19a bunch of walls.
41:20Here it was really
41:21just to create
41:22a more functional
41:23and modern space,
41:24and I think
41:25we've accomplished that.
41:25For now,
41:33the work is over.
41:35It's time to get
41:35cleaned up.
41:37Do we have to get
41:37dressed up?
41:38A little something.
41:39Isn't it a B-twinning?
41:40I can do shorts
41:41and flip-flops though,
41:42right?
41:44The chaos getting
41:45everything ready
41:46for this wedding,
41:47you know,
41:48just reminds us
41:49of the nightmare
41:50of our own wedding.
41:51Do you want
41:53to try that one again?
41:55I actually are.
41:56I think our wedding
41:57was seamless.
41:58There was a little bit
41:59of pressure
41:59for this one for sure.
42:01We were up against
42:02some crazy timelines,
42:04but the bride and groom
42:05are happy,
42:06and that's what
42:06matters most.
42:21So we've done it.
42:41We have done it.
42:42Mission accomplished.
42:44There were I do's,
42:45and now there'll be
42:46a celebration.
42:47We want them
42:48to have great memories,
42:49and of course share that
42:50with all their friends
42:51so their friends come
42:52and have great memories
42:52here as well.
42:57Today is a day
42:59to celebrate
43:00the bride and groom
43:01and to relax
43:02and enjoy
43:03what we've managed
43:03to accomplish so far.
43:05We'll worry about the rest
43:06early tomorrow.
43:09This was that first
43:11sort of finish line
43:12that we had
43:13in our sights.
43:13It sort of ramps
43:15up our excitement
43:15to continue
43:16and finish the project.
43:19There's a big one coming.
43:20Hold on.
43:24We're in it now.
43:26So we've got
43:27two big opportunities
43:28coming up.
43:28Another hotel
43:29on the island
43:29on the backside
43:30and the 600-acre parcel
43:32of development land
43:33north and south of us.
43:34Did you bump your head?
43:35It sounds bigger
43:37when you hear it.
43:38You got one.
43:39That's a fish.
43:40How do you know
43:42it's time?
43:43You just know.
43:44You just know.
43:45It's like love, you know?
43:47You know it, you know it.
43:48I think you're a little
43:48crazy.
43:50It takes a certain kind.
43:52What?
43:55It scares me
43:56because when you have
43:57this much land
43:58it can be developed
43:59in the completely
44:00wrong way.
44:02There are so many ideas
44:03floating around
44:04in our heads.
44:05We'll figure it out.
44:06What could possibly
44:07go wrong?
